Absolutely useless. Their Letting Manager sat on the property for 3 months, promised the earth and delivered nothing. Then she told me their Tenancy Manager had recently left the company and they couldn't take my property on. So I'm left with an unnecessary 3 month void period and considerable costs. Avoid. There are far more competent Lettings Agents to choose from.... Read more

Superb experience selling our house in Loughborough through these recently; professional, friendly, prompt responses and super helpful every step of the way. We arranged for separate photos through a local independent photographer, recommended by them, but they did provide a superb 360 photo portfolio for our house listing. All viewings were followed up on and feedback provided to us and when we entered the best and final stage of our sale, this was all handled excellently and fairly. Competitively priced rate and dedicated staff to handle each stage of the process, we highly recommend them to sell through. As sellers, we were very conscious to choose an agent that we knew would also offer the best customer experience. Having ourselves been looking and viewing many properties for a long time, we got a good idea of the 'good' and the 'bad' ones. Surprisingly, a lot of other agents in the area we found lacked basic customer service, for example either not getting back to enquiries to book viewings or taking too long to do so (time being a critical factor this past year with how the market has been). John German were always incredibly responsive and helpful, so naturally we wanted to go with them when we sold as we knew when we did find our buyer, we had the best chance of that buyer being actively communicated with!... I have been renting from John German for 4 years always paid on time every month from my own personal bank account. I took the tenancy out with my partner at the time and we split up 6 months ago and I had to file a domestic abuse charge against him, I have been looking for a new property since and have now found one. Josie Walker of john Germán Loughborough made my partner aware I was leaving and I cannot be sure but may have even let him know my new address. Admittedly I had not made JG aware I had reports filed with the police for domestic abuse but upon hearing I was moving he started the abuse again and has since applied for the deposit which they promptly gave him having never had no contact with him or he paid a penny in the whole 4 years…… disappointed is an understatement... John German inherited us as existing clients of Sowter Brown when they bought this Derby based business. We have been very disappointed with John German from the moment the previous business owner left. A tenant gave notice but the office staff didn’t realise this for over three weeks so we had a month with the property empty unnecessarily. They only realised when the departing tenants contacted the office about giving the keys back. This was John German’s mistake. We were financially out of pocket and there was no offer to rectify this, The member of staff (Charlotte) who took on the task of managing the property was initially very positive right up to the point where she vanished. We had no communication regarding anyone leaving or point of contact changing, just a different person every time we had a need to be in touch. I know that some business processes have been difficult during the initial phases of the Covid Pandemic but basic comms with clients isn’t too much to ask. They may be great at selling houses but I’d not recommend them as letting agents.... Read more

We are really impressed with your staff and the level of service you're giving us trying to sort out a complicated chain of house purchases. Charlotte Hardy has not only kept us informed throughout, she's actively chased up information from the other parties, and kept all of us along the chain up-to-date. This is, of course, the job of an estate agent, but - sadly - so many firms don't take their customer service seriously and stick a sold sign on a property and just seem to sit back. Charlotte is professional in all her dealings, and also friendly, helpful and human - hooray for her, and for John German to have recruited and trained such a good member of staff. We are sooooo relieved we are not with Leaders for this purchase as we've had appallingly bad service from them, and we will highly recommend John German to all our friends and colleagues. In a changing world where on-line dealings are taking the role of traditional tasks I have to say that dealing with the staff at John German, East Leak made my purchase much easier, the same goes for my selling agent. We had wonderful service from David Woodcock at John German Loughborough. For complicated reasons it looked as though we might have to pay two sets of estate agents' fees.
