I highly recommend avoiding working with Purplebricks at all costs. They hook you by overpricing your property, which ensures they get your money. The agent that values the property, you then never hear from again. The person in charge of marketing is a new agent who has never seen the house or set foot inside! And then there is a third person, who is supposed to conduct viewings, even though they have no additional information on the house themselves?! They do not contact you. Voicemails are ignored, complaints are ignored, until the 3 month mark where they tell you to lower your price. They take fees regardless of whether they sell, so there is no drive or motivation for them to sell the property, they are happy to let the house sit on the market for 10+ months while they focus on putting more and more houses on the market. The lack of communication is shocking, and when you finally get through to your agent they act shocked that you would want any contact in the first place! Promises are made which aren't followed through with - i.e., promising to send over data from the advert, promising to focus on selling quickly, promises to sell sooner than other agents. They claim to be better than the high-street, with out of hours customer service and contact from your agents at evenings and weekends - in reality, it was 3 weeks of missed calls and ignored voicemails before I was spoken to by the agent, who told me that I shouldn't expect to be told what they are doing, but that she was too busy to speak to me anyway. Working with Purplebricks has put me off ever buying a property again - I will stick with the rental market to avoid the tears, frustration and tearing my hair out that I have had the last 4 months trying to sell a house! Full disclosure, the house was never sold through Purplebricks, and there was never a genuine viewing conducted. I have withdrawn the house from them and STILL not had contact.... Read more
