Sue at Reeds Rains was very helpful in steering the selling of our late mothers property. We are grateful to her for steadying the ship when the house sale felt wobbly. We would recommend her and Reeds Rains to you. They were professional at all times.... Read more

Absolutely dreadful estate agent. I would strongly advise against people using the Preston branch at Fishergate.
We were moving abroad at the end of October 2019, they were made aware of this right from the start and that we wouldn’t be able to come back to do viewings, this wasn’t a problem they said.
We couldn’t choose our photos - Becki Macateer the manager knew best apparently.
We signed up for 12 weeks rather than their standard 20 weeks as we are in a desirable location that houses sell in less than a week after putting on the market.
We asked that we be kept informed from people making appointments (my friend was going to be going in to put fresh flowers etc the day before and making sure it was presented well).
We signed up for the premium package -high gloss brochures.
We asked for feed back, not too much to ask from a firm that “allegedly” can sell your house as they have 17 people on their books that are wanting to live here and are charging 1% plus VAT.
In no particular order of events:
The advert went live at 4pm on a Saturday- the same time that their office closes for the weekend until Monday morning...
Wrong price and wrong information... we weren’t given an opportunity to see and confirm what was being put on their website, Zoopla etc
We were still in the UK for 2 weeks when this happened, 1.5 hours to get through on Monday morning... potential buyers already would have disregarded it. Having already signed up for the duration we had no choice other than to get Reeds Rains to try and rectify the problem. 3 separate phone calls as no one passes on messages and no one at the office has a clue what’s going on.
When we moved abroad we thought that Reeds Rains would be on track and selling our property...
No feed back, we were constantly either phoning from abroad or emailing - Reeds Rains could not get hold of the 6 people that had viewed to find out what they thought etc.
No glossy brochures at all where given out. My husband came back twice for work and did 2 of the viewings - again no glossy brochures. 3 times I called and requested that they be left on the hall table, my friend checked all the rooms - nothing.
At one point I must have phoned 13 times from abroad for over 2 hours to be told - we’re busy.
Another evening I’d received a phone call from Reeds Rains office asking if I could do the viewing the following day as they were too busy to do it!!
Lack of communication between staff and I’d get - I’m not dealing with it - totally unhelpful when you’re 800 miles away!!
Throughout the 12 weeks it was an awful experience. Over 4 occasions they have turned down potential buyers as they have been too busy to show them round!!
They are not interested in selling your property for you and certainly do not have the old fashioned ethics that this firm used to have.
We sent an email to end the contract (as stipulated in the contract you still need to give them 28 days written notice) it then took over 6 weeks and dozens of phone calls and emails for Reeds Rains to remove the sale board and take the property of right move, zoopla and their own website- apparently a technical hitch!!
I wouldn’t even give them any stars but the system won’t allow you to move forward without it.... Read more
