Unfortunately I had such a bad experience with the sales team especially Reece. We moved to Camberley from London, and the day of completion Reece was very unhelpful and rude. When I chased to find if the keys could be released, although the solicitor had informed Romans of it being the case, Reece was very rude and said well it could take a couple of hrs before we get the message. We were exhausted from the move and I stressed we needed to move things asap so my 3 kids could have a sofa to sit in. He didn’t care of our struggles and when he dropped the keys off, we didn’t even get a ‘congratulations’ on your new home, nor a card, nothing. This is my 4th time purchasing property but the one that’s was definitely not appreciated by Romans.So disappointed as it’s over £600k, to get so much commission and be treated like garbage it’s not on.

By far the best letting agent in Camberley. Having spoke to all of them:, Romans and in particular Chloe Cundy kept me in touch of properties coming onto the market way ahead of any other agent, where others turned me away saying it was to early to look. Chloe had spent a lot of time finding the right properties that matched my criteria She was always contactable through WhatsApp which was hugely efficient. We found that the perfect place on the second viewing. She negotiated new carpets and fresh paint, I was able to also negotiate on the asking rental price. I’m delighted with my new home, it’s perfect. Once I moved in Chloe followed up and ensured everything was ok, she addressed some small issues like keys not working properly. She came out in person and rectified it straight away. I’d like to thank Chloe and Romas for finding my lovely new home, if I I had to move again, Ink is where I’ll be going!

Been living with a bedroom window that won't open for 7 months at this point. This was a known issue from before we moved in, apparently they have a very warped definition of what it means to "keep in repair and proper working order," to quote their own contract. Absolutely avoid if at all possible, they don't care about you, only your money. Unless you're a landlord, in which case I can't recommend them enough.

Ollie Hawkins in Lettings was also outstanding and helped me in an extremely difficult situation with having to vacate the property.

First of all dependable. With so much stress around dates it always felt that Courtney was on top of things, and nothing was waiting on her. That included following up emails after hours. Don’t normally do reviews but was very impressed with romans Camberley, especially Shevaughn. I was in desperate need of accommodation and she found properties for me to view straight away. I then messed her about with my inability to decide what I wanted and kept changing my mind. She has the patience of a saint and kept finding me properties. Shevaughn was also very kind and seemed like she genuinely cared about my difficult situations. Romans are very lucky to have such a great employee.

Awful from the start, be VERY careful if you rent with these people, they will do anything and falsify check in reports ( mine was done when I wasn't even there ! ) and try claim money off you for things unnecessarily at the end. We were nothing but good tenants, always paid on time, the flat we had was in such a poor state with no appliances working, we were left with no washing machine for 2 weeks just before Christmas , we had to deal with all the maintenance people ourselves. AWFUL service, all they were interested in was setting up to steal money at the end of the tenancy which they hid behind their false check in report - BE WARNED! they are NEVER on the tenants side.

I have rented my flat through Romans Camberley for just over 14 years now, in my experience Wendy in property management is highly efficient and professional in getting any issue dealt with immediately and always with a friendly and caring personal touch (I sigh with a breath of relief after every call and flat inspection), on the rental side I have dealt with Oliver who has always been highly professional and impartial when I have had to deal with difficult times due to ill health and eventual retirement. Rhianna Scowen in particular was super helpful throughout the process. The house sale was delayed a result of issues relating to probate, and Rhianna went beyond the call of duty to help me during what was at times a difficult and emotional process. Romans really helped us out. We were living in Japan and looking to move back to the U.K. after many years abroad. Myself and My partner were forced by circumstance to seek accomodation very quickly after a deal with another estate agent spectacularly fell apart for multiple reasons.
Sophie was the first person that I spoke to at she was able to first of all putting my nerves at ease - no small task considering how stressed and furious I was with estate agents in general - and then professionally and very efficiently go through the process of showing me the property by virtual viewing. Within 2 hours me and my partner had paid the holding fee and 36 hours late we were viewing the property in person.
I would recommend this branch and this woman to anyone looking to rent - she is never more then a phone call or email away which is very very comforting to one who went a week between contacts or another company.

Roman's have a very glossy image on the surface,
But I have noticed some shortcomings with regard to Tenants right and consideration.
Like most estate agents they seem more concerned with making money on buying & selling houses than paying attention to looking after Tenants needs.
Being hit with sudden fees and exploiting a difficult situation of being unable to purchase their own properties.
I am pleased to say that the property management part of the business has a more "human face"
to Roman's business model, and makes it easier when they are more focused on showing a more caring side rather than treating as an expendable commodity.

I have come across many estate agents over the years, and have estate agents friends, and all I can say is that Alfie is one of the best. He was courteous and professional from the outset. He accommodated our requests for the initial viewings and has been very helpful in letting tradesmen into the house to give us quotes. All communication has been swift, concise and clear. Please avoid this agency !! Absolute liars and thefts . There are only worried with the landlords to get their commission. They don't care if the tenants have even hot water ! They through the apartment keys and it's to you to discover the apartment. And the no deposit , it's another scheme just to protect the landlords. There are other great agencies in Camberley..........CHOOSE ANOTHER AGENCY !!

Incredibly Romans were the 9th and last estate agent I met with a view to selling our unique high value property as part of an estate for which I was Executor. I am very glad I did. I instructed Romans purely on the basis of having met Lyndon Farrar who was very impressive and stood head and shoulders above the spectacular mediocrity and predictable approaches of the other agents I met. Throughout a very challenging period - not just in lockdown but also beforehand with our own circumstances of difficulties with the estate beneficiaries - Lyndon, his Branch Manager Matt Pointing, his colleague Alfie Caudwell and the rest of the team, were flawless. They found us the right very high-quality buyer very quickly and even took over the sale of the buyer's property in the end so we knew the chain was in good hands. I cannot recommend them enough and the branch at Camberley in particular. Sadly, they cannot improve my general dim view of estate agents after a lifetime of poor experiences but they have shown me that really talented professionals with integrity, honesty and common sense are out there if you search broadly enough. I would use them again in a heartbeat and will be doing so when we are ready to buy again ourselves.

Probably one of the worst experiences I’ve had with a lettings agent, baring in mind I’ve rented student accommodation in the past.
Trying to get a deposit back is never a fun experience but Romans have taken it to the next level. They have been incredibly difficult to communicate with throughout my tenancy, particularly during the dispute process. I called their office numerous times with no answer and kept being put through to their HO with the promise of being called back, but I never heard anything. I sent off several emails too, but again, no response.
Would really encourage Camberley renters to go with anyone else. Funnily enough, the landlord that owned the property was so dissatisfied with Romans’ service that he chose to go with Orchards after my tenancy finished. I know this because I was told by the landlord’s maintenance guy who ironically let himself into my property not knowing I was in, because Romans failed to communicate this to either one of us.
No doubt they’ll be quick to reply to this though.

I rarely do reviews but I felt the need to sing praises for Romans Camberley, they were absolutely first class from the start with Alphie and Deanna undertaking photos and viewings on our behalf, they were very professional and honest in their advice throughout our sale.
The Sales Manager Matt Pointing undertook our valuation and kept our sale under surveillance interacting at points and utilising his years of experience and knowledge which shone through brightly. Matt dealt swiftly and professionally with all third parties courteously without causing offence or needing us to deal with or lean on anyone through lots of emails etc.
In all we fully recommend Romans Camberley to anyone.

What an incredible service. I had had my mothers property on the market with another local firm and quite frankly was sick to the back teeth of computer generated emails and no action. On Tuesday of this week i asked Tom from Romans to come down,,,,,,,,,what a difference. Before i even got the paperwork signed off Tom called me having had a viewing and an offer was made at full asking price. You can't get better than that. A really personal service from a charming young man.

The turnaround from viewing to moving into the property was seamless and so easy. Charlotte Wild was brilliant in facilitating the move and considering the time frame was 2 weeks she managed get help me get everything sorted in time.
In addition my Move Manager Joanna Grounsell had a task chasing my previous landlady for a reference, however she dealt with it professionally and gracefully. Now I am moved in I have my own Property Manager Wendy Bennett who has been so helpful and very responsive.

Dealt with them for 5 years through a rental (Tenant). Found them unhelpful, unapproachable and not forthcoming with information. After moving out they were an absolute nightmare to get our deposit back. Even after our landlord signed it off no problem they held onto it for a further 3 weeks with them unable to tell us why, which is illegal. We think it was to keep earning the interest until the end of the month. If so disgusting and unethical behaviour. We will not deal with them again.
Update upon reading Romans answer below. Our deposit was agreed by both parties on the 12th Aug. We called and my partner came into your branch twice and not once were we given any information. It was not until my partner demanded to speak to someone higher up that we got somwhere. We were given the number of a Miss/Mrs S Harris who was the Property Manager who gave us info and even she said that we could have been told all of this in branch! If there was an admin problem why did all our chasing not highlight this issue and if we were told we could of resolved it sooner. This was not an "Admin Error" but poor management and bad customer service. We got our deposit back exactly on the last day of the month go figure, 3 weeks after agreed!. As for Oliver Hawkins, I was in receipt of his emails and when we were struggling for answers his was "I do not deal with deposits myself I am at the mercy of our accounts team" great help! Efficient I think not!

When to look at a property and when we got there a couple asked me if I was there to show them around, said no I have come to view it with my wife. The lady from Romans’ turned up and took us all round at the same time she made us feel like we were competing with who can make an offer first. It was very awkward and when we asked how many more repairs would be completed before we moved in she just said you tell us and we will get round to it. We did not us them again and went with another agent.

We put our property on the market as we had found the ‘house of our dreams’ in our perfect location so wanted a quick sale to prevent us from losing the house.
Romans came and valued the property and advised that an open house was the best thing to do despite the market being slow. We filled in a questionnaire and talked Lyndon who had done the valuation through the property to ensure they had everything for the open house. As it turned out a viewing went in before the open house and Matt turned up to conduct it... following the viewing we got a call from him asking all kinds of questions, all of which had been answered on the questionnaire and he even asked, after the people had left, how to get in to the partially converted loft, one of the houses selling points, funnily enough we didn’t see those people for a second viewing!
On the day of the open day which had been advertised on Romans website I came home 6 hours later to find the back door open... people had been invited round to our house with all our belongings in, checked it all out and then been given an open door to come back and help themselves later. Seriously unimpressed but thankfully all was fine.
Following these mistakes and me expressing how appalled I was with the service so far three estate agents came to the house to have a walk through which was positive.
A couple of days later, I had a meeting with Romans again and was advised we should lower the asking price by £30,000!!!! We were shocked to say the least and not impressed... we put the property on the market at the initial asking price on the recommendation of Romans to then be told a week and a half later that we were asking too much!
We reduced the price as we were keen to just sell and a few more viewings went in, eventually two offers were made... we asked Romans to get us the best price but after 5 minutes of trying were unable to negotiate with either party so we accepted the first time buyers for obvious reasons.
From the moment we accepted the offer Romans couldn’t have been less interested... too busy to do a follow up viewing to introduce us to the buyers so we had to just meet alone. No further information about the process, even getting closer to completion! We got a call the afternoon before completion asking about keys etc... we just told them we had sorted it all with the buyers as we weren’t really left with a choice following their radio silence.
To top it off, on the day of completion we had three calls from three different people to tell us we’d completed and ask us what we wanted to do about the keys... no communication between each other at all.
All in all an uninspiring experience for which we got charged 1.2% plus VAT so just over £5k... more than we paid our solicitor to deal with the sale and purchase of both old and new homes. They wanted 2% but thank goodness we negotiated them down!!

When it came to sending properties to me that could have been of interest they were all relevant to the criteria I had set out at the beginning so it was evident I was not just being sent any old property, also she was very good at getting back to me with any queries I had via email or telephone call and lastly when it came to viewing the properties she was very punctual and took her time to properly show me around all of the properties I was interested in. I would use Romans again purely based on the service Emma provided.

Considering this is the first time I've ever let a place I was extremely nervous and didn't know what to expect, however, with the Romans managed service it made it so simple and I haven't had to worry about a lot of things I thought I would have needed to. Shona Rogers, the lady who dealt with it all for us was really helpful and made the transition very smooth easy for me and my girlfriend. AVOID AT ALL COST....
I have rented a property in frimley green from Romans Estate Agents from August 2016 till January 2018.
I had to pay 1 month upfront £2000 plus £4000 for deposit, so £7,411.82 in total, including 1,180.99 of admin fees!!!!!
At the beginning of the tenancy whereas we were moving in, the former tenants warned us. ‘You will be robbed by romans and the landlord as the end of the tenancy as we did. They will do everything in their power to get some more money from you’ they said. They were right !
Moved out 4 weeks ago after caring for the property as if my own and receiving glowing monthly inspection reports during 1 and a half year on the state of the property. The rent was always paid on time and I had inspections every 6 months through the whole time so they were aware the house was always spotless. Now after chasing 4 weeks after moving out, no action had been taken by the agency whatsoever to progress release of deposit.
I’ve had to beg them sending emails every single day.
Charges were recommended to landlord by Romans for deposit retention on checkout for 2 minor points, these are several hundreds of pounds which are disproportionate. The icing on the cake, as recommended by the tenancy, I had a professional cleaning at the end of the tenancy for everything, carpet included with invoice, sent it but they decided it wasn’t good enough.
They also charged us £5 for a ‘crack’ on one of the freezer drawer due to the frost (not us), whereas the fridge delivered at the beginning of the tenancy was ridiculous (small fridge for a 4 bedroom house). The fridge also was broken at the beginning of the tenancy, no one warned us, we lost £250 of food!
Then because we didn’t cut the grass when we moved out (winter and frost, even snow at the end of December) and our lawnmower was electric they charged us £280 for the garden.
My surprise was that Romans also gave me bad references. The letting agency I’m dealing with now asked me for my statements because they spotted something was wrong. How could you live in a property without paying the rent?
During the tenancy my gazebo has also been broken by one of their contractors who cleaned the windows. … The landlord replied with a deduction of £15 for a broken gazebo LOL ! We of course didn’t agree with that!
During the check-out process I mentioned about the gazebo. They replied by threatening me. This is the copy and paste of the email :
I have advised your former landlord that you will only accept the deposit deductions in the event that he compensates you £150 for the damaged gazebo. Your landlord does not agree this, and has advised that if the deductions are not accepted, he will be seeking additional deductions for damage to the walls, to the grass, to a blind in the study and a larger amount for the worktop. He will be advising me of revised figures for the schedule over the weekend. Once I am in receipt of these figures I will amend the draft schedule and forward it to you.
Of course this is not true. And I can prove it! In fact I just discovered that they uploaded new pictures of the house to rent it after the end of our tenancy and the walls actually are spotless….
So please avoid renting this property, avoid renting with Romans, 1star is even too good for them. If there was an option to give 0 stars I would. Even if all is done by the letter, you won’t get your full deposit back! Avoid renting this property you can find another one in the same area cheaper for much more standing.

Whilst dealing with Romans we was shown around a place by Oliver who told us that he had never visited the property before so came across very informative and unprepared, he told us that 4 other people was viewing this place so we had to make a rushed decision by 3pm in which we did so after viewing the property at 1pm, we was very interested so we put an offer in to Sarah. Sarah then told us that she would let us know the outcome by that following afternoon, we heard nothing?! Then sending her another 3 emails the next day asking about the outcome by two different people she ignore us, for us to find out online that it had been let agreed by someone else. Would never bother with them again, I think they are complete time wasters and found this very rude. To not even let us know the outcome after everything is very highly unprofessional and sad.

Very terrible and disappointing service.
Sarah was agent I had agreed to meet and spoke with on the phone. I found her attitude quite snobbish and unnecessarily rude.
I had two text messages confirming my appointment. When I arrived at the property, I waited a few minutes before calling the agency. When I spoke to Sarah, she told me she had waited at the property 15 mins before the agreed time, but then she decided to leave. I travelled from the Midlands to view a selection of properties, and this unneeded error on a her part really wasn't required. She never once apologised, her tone of voice very much indicated she couldn't have cared less.
The agency did NOT contact me to inform me the viewing was cancelled. They also do NOT follow the governments guidelines regarding the reasonable charges to a tenant. This is how they can afford not to care about missing the appointments.

As a potential buyer I've found Romans to be one of the best in the area. Good knowledge of the properties and the positions of the sellers. They are very responsive to our needs and act well on our behalf having valued it (consistently and in line with other local estate agents) on two occasions before we marketed the property. Instructing them was simple and pain-free and Jordan was very personable and professional. The photos was amazing and the property was marketed quickly. It's hard to comment much on the agents who attending the one viewing an open day as we obviously went out, but the property was sold at open day so that is to their credit in part. Overall I have found them to act quickly and professionally in our sale and whilst the sale has not gone through yet, I would recommend them to friends and family based on my experience so far.

Romans in Camberly are just amazing. They offer great customer service and are a delight to deal with. Jordan Rodgers and Ryan Cooper were particularly helpful in assisting us with our first ever purchase. Nothing was ever a problem for either of them even when you phoned every day for 4 weeks. Thank you both for the support you gave us. You couldn't have made our first purchase any easier.

I sold a house through the Camberley branch and could not have asked for a better service from the first meeting with the Sean Egan, the residential manager, to completion. This is the second property I have sold through Romans and I can not recommend them highly enough. If you want to make something which is stressful un-stressful I suggest you call Romans.

From the first phone conversation, Ryan Cooper was extremely professional, but also friendly & accomodating. All emails & messages were responded to quickly, & nothing was ever too much trouble.

Both the chap who showed us the house and consequently Sean, were amazing. We spent around 5 months scouring Farnham, Mytchett, Frimley and surrounds for a house and had a nightmare trying to play the open day game. Despite being a motivated couple, we lost out on a fair few house. Which was lucky, as it meant we were able to view this, and thanks to you guys, buy it! Over that last 10 years we have sold and bought twice, and I have to say - the interaction with Romans has been nothing short of excellent from start to finish. I know the game of house of buying is a complex one and fraught with tension, and I am sure you are constantly boiling over with pressure and phone calls, but, I thought I would make some time to highlight how pleased we are with your service. I will be going nowhere else in future and recommending you to anyone who asks. Funnily enough we are still very much in touch with Peter and Mary Weatherley who sold to us, and now I have also met Sue and Gordon a few doors up who are also sold with you, on they're recommendation. Everyone speaks highly of you, so on those days of pressure when it's all going mad, remember that your doing a great job. I never felt deceived or ignored by you. In fact I was bowled over by Sean who not only made the effort to respond to our "plea" in buying the house, but took the time to reply to emails and phone me over a whole weekend. He deserves special mention, a credit to Romans, and highly professional.
