27th May, I picked up the keys for a flat in Kirkcaldy. Leah Anderson at slater & hogg helped me through this process.
Leah was incredibly helpful, kind, and personable. Most of us have experienced how difficult it is when seeking somewhere to rent. Especially those of us with disabilities of any kind. Oftentimes, you're left feeling less than human. Leah really went out of her way to be communicative, proactive, and generally very kind.
Leah gets a 5-star review.
However, I have come back to edit my original review. Unfortunately, the good experience of being made to feel human and the clear, proactive communication ended with Leah.

I appreciate the staffs and their efforts. However, very unfortunately, at least some (if not all) pictures of the properties are too old and so are misleading. I drove 3.5 hours to Stirling to view the property at 10A Upper Craigs, to which I said I was even ready to pay the deposit even without viewing the property. The advertised images were fantastic but when I was stressed to come for a viewing, and I did, it was a messed up property which had all doors broken, walls leaking/dripping, punch-broken doors, hung cabinets and unclean floor and shelfs. The place also had bugs and insects and showed no signs of maintenance.

We recently sold our house with Slater Hogg & Howison Stirling and we cannot recommend them highly enough .
We had originally put an offer in for a property which we were unsuccessful with but the whole process with Gareth Muir (Senior Valuer) appraising our home and the arranging of the mortgage very quickly through Craig Petty (who is an independent broker but has his office at the rear of the Stirling branch ) we knew immediately with the high standard of service we had received that when we found another property to buy we would only use Slater Hogg for selling our home.
Gareth was very friendly,helpful and professional and gave us a concise and accurate valuation . The whole process of selling was made so easy for us . The Surveyor and Photographer were all very quickly appointed and were again friendly,professional and efficient .
Janice McIvor ( Senior Retail Manager ) is highly experienced in sales and her advice , support and reassurance was invaluable . Her team ( Nicola , Jennifer )arranged viewings to minimise disruption for us and this was very much appreciated .

I have been using SHH to manage my properties in Stirling for several years and would recommend them to others looking for a fully managed service.
Nikki Kaur is my portfolio manager and is fantastic; always available on the end of the phone to talk through options and keep me updated via email of any developments.
No property is without the occasional snag and SHH have always been prompt to respond with any issues raised by the tenant, investigate them, then report back to me with estimated costs and timeframe for repair. As we all know it can often take a few days to arrange a tradesman or engineer to attend a property, however, I am often pleasantly surprised at how quickly issues are addressed using their list of trusted contractors.
I know Nikki, Lisa and the team work hard to ensure my responsibilities as a landlord are fulfilled, whilst also ensuring my tenants are comfortable in my properties which is important to me. I would recommend their services without hesitation.

Nikki Kaur our property manager has been fantastic with dealing with repairs and has been friendly, approachable and always happy to help
I will say, there are times where repairs/upgrades to the property, could be dealt with slightly quicker, of course this isn't Nikki's fault, if it's a repair that is something we can't live without like heating/hot water/oven/bathroom/electrics/gas
These things need to be fixed ASAP urgently, I understand there would be procedures and approvals and they take time, but it's frustrating when we don't receive an update and we have to constantly chase contractors ourselves

We moved from the United States and had a difficult time finding a flat to let. My family of 4 and our cat were living in a hotel. We stopped into the office and right away Lisa took all our details and contacted a few properties that fit our needs. When one property would not rent to us because we have a cat or a property was not available for a month Lisa found a property for us to view right away. Amanda worked so hard on a Saturday to show us the property. Amanda and Lisa were so helpful through the background check process. They were in constant to let us know what the next steps were. They have been incredibly friendly and understanding to our family.

What can I say about SHH? In less than three weeks I've gone from viewing a property to documentation to moving in without a hitch. Throughout it all I was lucky enough to be guided by Amanda for the viewing and Lisa for everything else. Whether I had a question about the boiler or the deposit Lisa was on hand to reassure me - always replying with speed, accuracy and a smile to boot.
I've had varying encounters with different letting agents over the years but coming into SHH has shown me how stress free this process can be - I can't recommend them enough.

I cant say enough good things about this branch and their service. From start to finish it was a seemless, friendly, proffesional and helpful service. Cannot fault the service I have received selling my house. Gareth valued my property and was extremely personable, friendly and professional and not in the slightest pushy. He was on hand to answer any questions that I had at any time. Our sale was then passed to Sally , Margaret, Nicola and Janice who were all extremely lovely and helpful and a joy to have a bleather with! Gareth was very personable and knowledgeable, took lots of interest in our home and gave us lots of supporting evidence for his valuation compared to the other agents who valued our home. After instructing everything moved very quickly with no chasing required, home report and photos were arranged and completed speedily, and the advert prepared and live the next day. Coming soon/for sale signs were put up very quickly as well. Sally then managed the sale of our house with Nicola and Margaret helping to arrange our viewings. I made an enquiry to Slater Hogg, very late in the day of 12/10/20. When leaving an email and a brief voice mail - as lines were busy, I received a call immediately with 20 minutes of making my enquiry.
Lisa who responded attentively and professionally to my enquiry, accommodated me that very day by fitting me into her busy schedule so I could view the property I was interested in. I was incredibly impressed with the attention to customer care and detail as she worked around my schedule just as much as her own.
She took her time with me as I was shown around the property, whilst ensuring me that she would get back to ASAP about the land Lords decision.
She phoned me first thing during the working morning, which again I was incredibly impressed with. I wasn't waiting, which has happened to me previously with other companies - and she was patient enough with my next decision/course of action.

As a private rental tenant I have lived same property for just over 1 year.
I was having so much problems over a 4 month period with my energy supplier that I turned to SHH for help,
They had the problem sorted out within 2 days. Superb performance.
Then in November I began another bout of problems with the energy supplier and I persevered by trying to sort it out with them myself to no avail .
On 24th February Ifelt it necessary to involve SHH again and within hours they had come up trumps again.

Give 0 stars if I could, Absoloutly disgusted!! I wouldnt recommend this estate agents to anyone at all! The way I was treated by some of the staff here was unbelievable, my phone calls were never returned, I lived in the property for nearly 3 months and the conditions I was made to live in was unbeleiveable and made me poorly due to no proper heating and having no shower for a month however told to get a gym membership and use the washing facilities down there.. I had no washing machine at all in the whole time I was in the property, no heating or hot water for 2 weeks when I first moved into the property, gap under front door and unable to shut the bedroom door as door was broken and when I left the property the washing machine was still not fitted and the shower looked as though it was fixed by cowboy builders who had just shoved waterproof boarding over a massive whole in the wall of the bathroom to cover it! 2 ladys out of the team understood why I was leaving and tried to get in contact with people to help me however I never got phone calls when I was told I would even after ringing several times again and again. To anyone who is wanting to rent off slater hogg I would avoid as unless you want to be stuck in a flat/house freezing cold, with no washing facilities and to be told to go to the gym after a 12 hour shift just to have a wash then this is the place for you.

Terrible experience. Not so much with Slater hogg themselves but with the companies they use to fix the problems in the house. We were left without heating, hot water for 1 week on the coldest days/nights of October with children in the house. Also 2.5 weeks with no option to wash clothes as it was considered -Not Urgent-. Full of problems on every step of the way, moving in was a hassle as we were promised everything would be ready and clean until we moved it. The day came and it looked horrible, so our official date was still sett but it was very disruptive for about 3 weeks, with people painting, carpets, and cleaning the house while we were there. Just horrible.

She has been extremely helpful throughout the process so far and her communication has been excellent and extremely professional, as even though we are students, other estate agents have almost an 'attitude' towards students trying to find a property. I cannot recommend SH&H enough and Helene.

Friendly and efficient service from the Stirling Branch lettings team. The real test is when you need assistance with something beyond the basics: Gavin Chalmers in Stirling Branch has been consistently on-the-ball and genuinely supportive of complex repair issues, ably backed up by a calm and thorough Ceri Motherwell at Property Management Centre. It is not easy to find the combination of bona fide courtesy and 'can-do' these days, but I have not been disappointed in this regard. Thank you for making this customer feel taken care of.

We left our house in the capable hands, so we thought, with Slater Hogg Letting while we were in New Zealand. We found their service to be very very very poor and disappointing. Only once we made contact with them did they carry out a property inspections, they say this is done regularly, once every six months, Yet we were originally told every three months! In 20months we have only had two reports! Tennants left the property on the Thursday, they carried out an investigation on Friday we then find out our property was left unlocked all weekend. All in all a very bad experience we would never recommend them to anyone.

Moved into my new rented property on Friday, When I was looking a tried to arrange a few different viewings with Slater Hogg, and it was a mixed service, sometimes good, sometimes disappointing. However when I met Samera at the property I eventually moved into she was very clear, and very thorough on the process, and always delivered on her promises. Moving day was very slick, but also very thorough, and I have to say that Slater hogg, and especially Samera provided an excellent service. I Would definitely recommend them!

Slater Hogg & Howison Lettings in Stirling.
The rental team is currently looking after several properties for me in the Stirling area and the service is 10 out of 10.
The tenants they have placed into each property have been properly vetted and I have experienced no problems to date.
