Winkworth should be stopped from wrong doing !!!
We have been awarded compensation at Property Redress Scheme due to Marc W & Damien H have used unlawful techniques to push us into contract.
We agreed moving in to new rental property 20 November 2020 as a family of 5 including 3 school age children who then become homeless due to lies by Damien H. & Marc W. Winkworth streatham office( please note it was national lock down in London at that time). Damien and Marc owner of Winkworth Streatham requested deposit payment providing incorrect information once received our payment they changed the agreement from unfurnished property to furnished property. This been investigated by Winkworth head office who have done simply nothing to help but Property Redress Scheme asked the owner of Streatham Winkworth office to provide our family with compensation.
PLEASE if you have the same issue with Winkworth Streatham or similar do not stop fighting your rights. Public review help other consumers, helps too stop this wrong practice.

They have both been very responsive at each stage, and everyone that we have dealt with at Winkworth seems very professional. Would highly recommend the service for other renters in the area.

We've had to deal with a number of estate agents through this process (we'd previously offered for a flat that turned out to be unmortgageable) so we came into this purchase a bit scarred but everything on this went so smoothly and your help getting us past the last minute service charge hiccup was hugely appreciated. Damien was great running interference between us, the seller and the lawyers, keeping us informed all the way. And it made a huge difference when Marc covered in Damien's absence - especially when our solicitors all went on holiday! We LOVE our new home! Thank you both so much again.

These estate agents are absolute vultures! We lived in a rental property for 2 years, kept it clean and tidy and treated like our own home. We had multiple problems throughout our tenancy which Winkworth were unbelievably incompetent at sorting out - mice and a freezer that wouldn’t shut! In the end we ended up being out of pocket sorting these out ourselves. At the end of our tenancy, they, along with the landlord, tried to charge us for basic repairs to the property which had nothing to do with us, and for things left in the garden before we even lived there! They completely blindsided us as throughout our tenancy they couldn’t praise us enough! They tried to cut our deposit by half, their emails were along the lines of “we think you should accept this generous offer from the landlord, it’s very fair” - but we didn’t accept, we disputed it all with DPS and we won, with overwhelming evidence in our favour! Just confirming that they were trying to take our money for no legitimate reasons. Please stay away from renting with these agents, they are biased towards the landlord and will team up with them to try to take your money! Disgusting and unlawful company.

The worst customer service ever, The Landlord is called Trevelleyan who has charged us £220 for cleaning, £100 Admin fee and other works done on the property from our deposit money which totals £550. Also be careful with repairs on the property as you may be charged when you leave. We left the property in great condition and have been great tenants hence why we were asked to renewal our tenancy. We are still awaiting for this situation to be sorted. I would have given no stars but this is not a option. Landlord is awful. Please save yourself distress and loss of money.

We rented with Winkworth Streatham for a year, and the service and communication was always swift and helpful. At the end of our tenancy we were badly let down by another agency, and Winkworth were so helpful and understanding. They really saved our bacon! Great company, great staff.

After having gone through the ordeal of many viewings of many crappy places with pushy uninterested letting agents I found myself viewing a place with Damien from Winkworth's Streatham.
From the get go it was such a remarkably different experience, helped by a jewel of a flat. The fees are very reasonable (you only pay after an offer has been accepted), they let you review the contract before any other fees, very helpful in making changes and adding works to be done before moving in to the contract.
The landlord's team was the most professional I have come across, felt completely comfortable everything would be done to the highest standards (installing blinds, hanging rail, etc).
During the tenancy the management (want to mention David who has always been so friendly and helpful) was fantastic.
I am moving on to pastures new to get a bigger place and move in with my girlfriend, so we went through the same motions. Again, crappy place after crappy place. We finally found a place with another agent, and were comfortable it would be fine. But then things changed, asking to pay fees before seeing a contract, then the contract doesn't have any of the agreed terms (from us and from the landlord), chasing the management company up and ask for the same speed from them as they are asking of us all happened to no avail.
This made us decide to lose our holding deposit just to be rid of the stress they were causing us by not doing anything. I got in touch with Tanya who I dealt with to give my notice and she was so helpful and offered to push forward the notice in case we needed it to.
In the end the new agent reluctantly came forth with most of our requests after putting a lot of pressure on them. So we are going through with it, but are still not confident at all in them.
We just wish all London agents would follow the example of the Winkworth team I dealt with, because this would result in happy tenants, happy landlords and happy agents - as it should be! We are now saving up for our next step of buying a place, you can be sure we are going to check with Winkworth first, second and third. In this crazy market it is rare to actually trust an agency, but we completely do.
Well done Winkworth (Damien, David and Tanya in particular) and keep up the amazing service!

Having just sold my flat through Winkworths Streatham,I cannot recommend them highly enough.Their advice was spot on throughout the ordeal, they were always polite and supportive and despite some difficult circumstances they sealed the deal with grand aplomb. All scurrilous refrains regarding estate agents do not apply here.

It has been an absolute pleasure working alongside Streatham Winkworth to secure the perfect rental home for us, it was our first time moving out and we were in the dark of the steps and procedures involved in renting a property. The team - Anthony made the process seamless he was not only one of the nicest estate agents I've met but the same nature was evident among the other member of staff. Rafal is a credit to Winkworths. Consistently friendly while still maintaining a wholly professional and efficient manner. I moved my property from another estate agent, who managed my property for years. The difference in my experience is light and day. I have had a particularly difficult year and probably contact Rafal with urgent queries each and every month. On each occasion he has moved mountains to see that my requests are implemented and never once let me down. All this while keeping my tenants happy I can not speak highly enough of him. A real pleasure to know he is on the Winkworth team and on my bench when I need him.
