I chose Winkworth because of our agent, Yinka, who came across as down-to-earth, straight to the point, and pragmatic. He provided some quick useful insights into the current market by explaining how changes in stamp duty would impact first-time buyers and advised us on pricing strategies to maximise visibility on property websites. Other regional agencies focused more on boasting about their sales tactics and overinflated the value of our property to lock us into their contracts. They then proceeded to act as property managers whilst it was rented out until March, 2021 when i placed it on the market for sale . Initially skeptical at their valuation we were stunned when Paul actually exceeded his initial guide price in less than a week. working with Kyle since then working towards exchange has been a genuine pleasure - very easy to communicate with, responsive, helpful and generally everything I'd come to not expect from an estate agent - when we hit bumps in the road he went out of his way to help resolve them and we're very grateful. I had the misfortune of having to deal with this company, who are now trading under the name of Alexander Charles and Brown, on two separate occasions. On each occasion they have been either unprofessional or incompetent. They charge both the landlord and the tenant astronomically high fees and then attempt to extort further funds at every available opportunity. Whilst this may be considered standard estate agent practice, this company compound the offence by offering the worst customer service imaginable, ranging from rudeness, lying/misinforming, not turning up at alloted times, avoiding and/or not returning phone calls.
