Lack of Professionalism at Your Move Deal
After being a tenant in a property managed by Your Move in Deal for over seven years, I was deeply disappointed by their lack of professionalism and common decency. Unfortunately, this behaviour began even before our tenancy started. During negotiations, they attempted to incite a bidding war among potential tenants—a tactic I found unnecessarily greedy and refused to consider it.
Throughout our tenancy, we had minimal interaction with Your Move staff. Thankfully, we had a good relationship with the property owner and communicated directly to avoid dealing with the agency whenever possible.
However, at the end of our tenancy, the lack of communication and professionalism became glaringly obvious. The person managing our agreement made no effort to contact us regarding the move-out process—no guidance on a final walk-through, cleaning expectations, or even instructions for returning the keys. I had to chase their rentals team myself to ensure everything was handled properly.
Despite this poor experience, we notified Your Move that we were looking for alternative accommodation. On one occasion, we viewed a property they were representing. The staff handling the viewing were inexperienced and poorly prepared. They handed us a basic info sheet—information we’d already seen online—and could not answer any of our questions about the property. When asked for clarification, their response was simply, “I don’t know.” Instead of offering to find out or follow up with the landlord, they left it at that.
If you're considering renting through Your Move in Deal, think twice. Their lack of professionalism and care is evident from start to finish.

I agree with other people who have rented through your move, they are difficult to deal with when you move out and want your deposit back.
it is frustrating not having any answers to questions, emails don't get answered, phone calls are diverted and not answered, to different , I hear time and again I will send them an email and ask them to phone you, no phone call ever happens. I was informed that the person who deals with the deposit return works from home so I cant even go into the office and speak to her.
I have paid the last weeks rent, paid all the outstanding bills, cleaned the place completley and handed the keys to the land lord, I have done every thing asked of me. Its a total lack of respect on their part I wouldn't recommend them.

Really poor service taking 7 weeks before we managed to get a decent set of photos live on the website. Constantly needed to go back to the agent to chase up and try to move things forward. As soon as our 8 weeks were up we gave notice to terminate as had no confidence in them any more. Would not recommend at all.

The speed at which this was done due to Dan communicating with me, the buyers and the conveyancers on a regular basis; always providing me with updates and pushing for progress to be made with the sell.

It was not the easiest thing (no fault of YourMove) since I employed some preyy useless solicitors (I do not recommend PM Property Lawyers!) but had brilliant support from both Pete Cory and Dan Townsend who really put themselves out for me. Your Move Lettings in Deal have been appalling from the start. Tenants and guarantors going backwards and forwards multiple times with paperwork, guarantors never received a copy of the tenancy agreement. On moving out of the property tenants billed from deposit for completely unrealistic things such as limescale underneath a tap that must be 30 years old. On trying to resolve the matter the tenants are refused entry to attend to the issues. Then the day before new tenants move in, the works on the estimate for deducting from our deposit still haven’t been done and personal property still remains at the house.

I was purchasing a property for my mother in law through a different estate agent and it was one nightmare after another, we found a new property through your move and what a totally different experience, the staff (Dan and Peter ) were professional, friendly and nothing was too much trouble. I am over the moon with Your Move and Dan, he was on the ball from start to finish. We viewed the house in April, one of our conditions was that we had to beat the stamp duty deadline of June 30th.
Dan enthusiastically jollied the whole process along, he recommended their solicitors to use and made it happen. We viewed, exchanged and completed in 2 months, 5 days shy of the deadline. Dan smoothed the whole process through with both the vendor and the solicitors and we are over the moon with our new home by the sea. He even helped arrange cleaners to deep clean the house before we moved in.
