My experience with Dacre, Son and Hartley’s Skipton branch was somewhat mixed. Ultimately, I was able to sell my property within five weeks, which I'm grateful for. The overall marketing of the property didn't seem hugely proactive. When it came to the initial valuation, I felt they could have lent greater consideration to the condition and interior of the property, as the approach seemed to rely largely on a broad-brush search of properties in the local area which typically were in need of modernisation. I also got the impression that their network for selling traditional Skipton terrace properties may be somewhat limited, with firms such as Harrison Boothman or Hardisty perhaps being more specialised in this area. In addition, I felt that there was much room for improvement in terms of client care. I was contacted on a handful of occasions with rather catastrophising scenarios which, in hindsight, were not warranted. Overall, the staff were very pleasant and easy to reach, but I was left with the impression that the branch may rely quite heavily on its prominent high-street location and the footfall it attracts, rather than on a more proactive and tailored approach to selling properties.... I would like to thank all the team at Dacres in Baildon who handled the sale of my late mothers house. The viewings were all conducted by the agents as I live in Scotland. They were extremely efficient and always kept me informed of upcoming viewings and then gave feedback after each viewing. Once a sale was agreed Dacres contacted me every week to update me on progress. This was very welcome and far better service than expected, they really did go the extra mile. On exchange they were excellent at handling communication between myself and the buyer over the small things.
