Dacres Baildon provided us with an excellent, swift and efficient service on our house sale. Proactive in communication, responsive to requests, mobilising support for services we needed around the sale (clearance, electrics, cleaning); really helpful. Also drive the transaction forward, keep momentum up when solicitors flagged or got bogged down in details. Definitely would recommend to any home seller, price fair, service top quality, speed of execution good, friendly and helpful throughout

My experience with Dacre, Son and Hartley’s Skipton branch was somewhat mixed. Ultimately, I was able to sell my property within five weeks, which I'm grateful for.<br><br>The overall marketing of the property didn't seem hugely proactive. When it came to the initial valuation, I felt they could have lent greater consideration to the condition and interior of the property, as the approach seemed to rely largely on a broad-brush search of properties in the local area which typically were in need of modernisation. I also got the impression that their network for selling traditional Skipton terrace properties may be somewhat limited, with firms such as Harrison Boothman or Hardisty perhaps being more specialised in this area.<br><br>In addition, I felt that there was much room for improvement in terms of client care. I was contacted on a handful of occasions with rather catastrophising scenarios which, in hindsight, were not warranted.<br><br>Overall, the staff were very pleasant and easy to reach, but I was left with the impression that the branch may rely quite heavily on its prominent high-street location and the footfall it attracts, rather than on a more proactive and tailored approach to selling properties.

I would like to thank all the team at Dacres in Baildon who handled the sale of my late mothers house. The viewings were all conducted by the agents as I live in Scotland. They were extremely efficient and always kept me informed of upcoming viewings and then gave feedback after each viewing. Once a sale was agreed Dacres contacted me every week to update me on progress. This was very welcome and far better service than expected, they really did go the extra mile. On exchange they were excellent at handling communication between myself and the buyer over the small things. I have no hesitation what so ever in recommending Dacres Baildon to anyone searching for an agent. Thanks again Dacres you were brilliant !

Terrible agent<br><br>I went to view a house last week. I had no contact from the estate agent to ask me for feedback, so I resorted to submitting an offer by email. I got a receipt saying they had accepted my offer, and that was it nothing more.<br><br>I didn't hear anything for over a week, so I sent a courtesy email to them asking for an update, to which I received an out-of-office notice from the 'senior negotiator' with no sign that my message had been passed on. So I sent my follow-up email to the office instead.<br><br>6 hours later a got a phone call saying they had taken another offer from someone else.<br><br>At no point was I informed of any offers, or the seller's situation and how they will be dealing with offers, which in this process is valuable information.<br><br>In reality, I could improve my offer, had a solicitor ready to act, and a mortgage in place and a deposit, which make me a low-risk buyer.<br><br>I find this lack of communication poor when dealing with people's emotions and money. I understand I lost out to a cash buyer, which is understandable as that is a good position to be in. My frustrations aren't with the seller but the estate agent as this does not account for their poor/lack of communication through the process

The only element of concern was the property was valued too high and I had to reduce on a couple of occasions and then accepted an offer lower than the reduction.
