I’ve got to say, buying a house through this estate agency has been one of the most frustrating experiences I’ve ever had. From the very beginning the communication was poor. You’d ring them and nobody would get back to you, emails would sit unanswered for days, and when you did finally manage to speak to someone you’d get a different answer every time.
We were months into the process thinking everything was moving along nicely, paying for surveys, solicitors, mortgage arrangements — the lot — only to suddenly find out there were serious issues with the property that the agency apparently already knew about. Instead of being upfront about it, they just kept things ticking along as if nothing was wrong, while we kept spending money.
By the time the truth came out we were already well out of pocket and completely drained by the whole thing. What really wound me up was the attitude when we raised our concerns. Rather than taking any responsibility, they brushed it off like it was just “one of those things” that happens when you’re buying a house. No proper apology, no effort to make things right — nothing.
Buying a home is stressful enough as it is, but you’d expect the estate agent to actually help the process along. Instead it felt like we were constantly chasing them, trying to get straight answers. Honestly, the whole experience left a really bad taste. I wouldn’t be in a rush to deal with them again, and I’d definitely tell others to be careful before using them.... Read more
