14th Mar 2024 (6 mo. ago)Lack of communication and not pro-active as I had to instigate them doing anything. Pricing is terrible everything is an extra add on with vat on everything. Too expensive for lack of contact and or proactivity.
24th Jul 2023 (1 year ago)The worst branch I have ever had dealings with. Do not sell a property through these people.- 1st Oct 2024 (9 days ago)PLEASE READ AND BEWARE! We had Allen & Harris Helensburgh Branch Manager Clayton McGuiness handle our property Sale, which initially started off in good faith with him coming to assess our property. After a thorough walk through of our property he very confidently gave us a "conservative" Offers Over starting figure we were more than happy with (his words). Clayton came across as the Consumate Professional and we were happy to be guided by his expertise. The next stage was an organised Home Report being carried out and Marketing photo shoot planned in. The date was planned for the photo shoot and the Surveyor arrived on the Monday, advising us we would have the Home Report by the Wednesday. Wednesday and Thursday came and went with no Home Report. On the Friday we then had a late phone call from Clayton, who very sheepishly advised that the Home Report came in at a staggering £40,000 lower than his initial "conservative" Offers Over" starting price. To say the wind was completely taken out of our Sails would be a massive understatement. With the snowball effect this MASSIVELY impacted on our house search and bid which was by now completely blown out the water. Consequently, our House Sale and House Purchase fell though completely, leaving us more than £1000 out of pocket in Fees and bitterly disappointed. It is our opinion that either the Helensburgh Allen & Harris Branch Manager or their Surveyor, or both, are completely out of touch with the Housing market. Please tread VERY carefully when choosing your Estate Agent.

24th Feb 2023 (1 year ago)Excellent service throughout, from initial contact to discuss prospects, possible prices and costs, through to finalising the sale of the house. Friendly and professional at every stage with absolutely no pressure applied. Sales materials, from really well-wriiten text to superb videos, including drone footage of the property and surrounds, were outstanding. Good at helping manage the sale, discussing useful changes and following up and reporting back prospective buyer interests and dislikes. I can't imagine the process being handled better. A big thanks to the area director Allan and manager, Seona.

I decided to use McArthur Stanton for our recent house purchase and sale as I wanted to use a local firm, but I have never had great service from property lawyers before so, to be frank, I thought it would be more of the same. I couldn’t have been more wrong. From the word go all I got from Linda and Maureen was courtesy, professionalism and outstanding support throughout the whole process. They soothed my fevered brow and brought both purchase and sale to a successful conclusion within the timescales agreed. I would recommend this company - you will not get better.

I would recommend this company. They are up-to-date about the market, and their customer service is personal.

I felt repeatedly pressured to sell it just so that they would have solicitude in the commission instead of my interests .

I chose them as my Trade Union has a deal for free Wills but we also wanted our POAs done and using the same firm for both was ideal. Katie, the solicitor we dealt with, provided fantastic service making sure we understood everything and answered all our questions about the process. Throughout the process she was friendly and very professional. We'd have no issues using Dallas McMillan again for any legal services we require in future and would thoroughly recommend them.

24th Sep 2024 (16 days ago)I engaged McHugh Estate Agency to sell my mother’s house. And an excellent decision it was. From the initial phone call to the production and presentation of the brochure, the viewings and finally the handing over of the keys, the service was friendly and extremely professional. Throughout, communication was as you would expect from a highly motivated, efficient team. This was reassuring. A particular strength (and real bonus for their clients) was their comprehensive, up-to-date knowledge of the local, housing market. Homework definitely done. It probably accounts for the house being sold within ten days. Therefore, I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending McHugh Estate Agency. All that remains is to thank all of them for the care and consideration taken in selling our family home.

31st Aug 2024 (6 weeks ago)Highly recommend West homes. We used them to sell our property in Lochearnhead. Having an agent based locally was great considering we didn't live near by. They were proactive and had excellent communication. Refreshing compared to others we have used in the past
5th Jul 2024 (14 weeks ago)BE VERY CAREFUL!!! Once these lot have your deposit they ignore you. We agreed to buy a buy to let from these and went through the mortgage application with our own agent. We then found out they had overvalued thr property by a fair amount, not allowing us to get a mortgage. We were then told we had to use their mortgage person, which cost us another £300 but we had no option. They also could not get us a mortgage because the value was less than 50k. Upon telling these lot, they are now ignoring our calls, you can't speak to the refund team as only on email, no managers have phones and they won't give us our deposit back even though it states we are entitled to it back for following their stipulations. I'm no being ignored by the salesman Jack and no one will return emails etc. I will be taking this to the Ombudsman too, to highlight this appalling service and blatant overvalued to gain mortgage applicants. They had the same listing on their site for £52,500 and £46,000. We found this after we had agreed a price. So be very careful not to deal with these people. They are rude and have total lack of customer service once they have your deposit. Zero stars from me!!!
