15th Oct 2024 (7 mo. ago)I recently rented and sold a flat with bridgfords Washington and unfortunately I’ve been left very disappointed with the service provided. Bridgfords were noticeably more expensive than competitors (I.e. 40% premium on other estate agents) and the service provided when selling the flat was poor overall. When I’d call their offices I would either not be able to get through or would be promised a callback which wouldn’t materialise which was very frustrating. The sale of my flat took 10 months with no chain and it realistically shouldn’t have taken anywhere near this long. A lot of the delays were caused by unresponsiveness either by bridgfords or by their recommended solicitors (which were also unresponsive and expensive compared to competitors). This poor service was disappointing and could have largely been avoided. Without emails/calls chasing there were weeks which would pass when nothing progressed. I was advised by bridgfords to end tenancy (2 months notice) as I was under the impression that completion was imminent, after tenants moved out the flat was empty for nearly 2 months which increased unnecessary costs of owning the vacant flat. Unfortunately at this stage I wouldn’t recommend using bridgfords.

19th Nov 2024 (6 mo. ago)In my honest and truthful opinion, I had a negative experience with Bedebrooke - without naming names. I found there to be an undercurrent of rudeness within their communications, and if someone asked me if I would personally recommend them, I'd decline to do so.

16th May 2023 (2 years ago)I was impressed with the updates I had and the choices I was given. Because the property had a number of enquiries an open house was organised which I thought was an excellent idea.
18th Mar 2024 (1 year ago)DO NOT SELL YOUR BUSINESS THROUGH THIS COMPANY! READ THE SMALL PRINT This company are extremely aggressive and unprofessional. We advertised a business with them, paid an huge fee to advertise. Later after terminating, we agreed investment (not even a sale) from an investor we met directly, who was never introduced by Hilton Smythe. After accepting investment after terminating with Hilton Smythe they demanded their commission!! Totally unreasonable given it was after termination and the person who invested in our business was never known to or introduced by Hilton Smythe! They are now behaving aggressively and threatening legal action. We in turn have reported them to the ombudsman and trading standards. They are snake oil salesmen. DO NOT DEAL!

They kept us informed at all times and this led to a smooth, stress free purchase. Cannot fault this company, and the two people I have already mentioned!

I trusted his advice and I knew he was working hard to represent us to the conclusion of a sale which he has successfully done. Thank you Jack my family and I are chuffed with the result!
19th May 2025 (25 days ago)My Experience with Pattinson Estate Agents – Low Street, Sunderland I recently booked a viewing for a 2-bedroom flat in Low Street, Sunderland through Pattinson Estate Agents. The initial booking process was handled professionally, and when I had to reschedule due to travel constraints from London, the staff member was courteous and accommodating. However, after traveling over 300 miles from London to Sunderland—a journey that took four hours—I received a phone call from the estate agent informing me that my viewing had been cancelled. They explained that the property owner had accepted another offer. What I find extremely disappointing is that I was not informed of this change earlier, especially since the agency knew I was traveling from London. They had my full address on file and were fully aware of the distance and effort involved in attending the viewing. This lack of communication resulted in a wasted trip, cost, and considerable inconvenience. My main question is: Why wasn’t I informed sooner that an offer had been accepted on the property? It seems inconsiderate and unprofessional to allow someone to travel such a long distance without updating them on such a significant change.
3rd Nov 2023 (1 year ago)I have lived in my apartment for 3 years, my ancient boiler got condemned two weeks ago along with the cooker which was here when i moved in, it took the landlord nearly a week to respond to residential estates about the issues, then i was advised by residential lettings to report the landlord to the council disrepair department which i did and i may add i have a vulnerable child in my care as well, the council got in touch straight away and chased them up, 11 days later i get contacted by the gas engineer company to tell me the date of the new boiler, still nothing about a new cooker, i have spent a small fortune on food and electricity feeding us and keeping us warm, no contact from residential estates, they tried saying at one point that I couldn’t be contacted which is a lie, my roof is leaking i cannot sleep in my bedroom as the ceiling is wet and starting to mold, the wall is soaking wet! Not heard anything about the roof either, is this acceptable? Freezing cold, no cooker, cold wet bedroom? Lack of communication, no oil heaters which was said was going to be brought to the property? At this point I expect compensation and the issues to be dealt with swiftly!
