Extremely poor communication, not once did we receive any calls/feedback from selling agent, always had to chase them up for everything, only feedback received was once we had given notice to agent (& even that I had to call for) property for sale was commercial,potential purchasers not vetted financially, so most if not all were not in any position to be able to purchase as no financing in place.Viewers also complained to us with regard to very poor communication from CCL office, very happy to take your money, but no real return, would not recommend/rate CCL Property at all.... I have recently attempted to buy a property marketed by this company. The way, the company, and Lewis Murphy have conducted business and treated myself has been completely unethical and unprofessional. I had my offer accepted verbally yesterday morning with it also being submitted in writing by my solicitor. I have now been told today that they have now received and accepted another offer on the property. Because it was only a verbal acceptance I cannot do anything but this is simply not how you conduct business and the correct thing to do after accepting my offer would be to mark it under offer and not entertain any further offers for the property. The way I have been treated is terrible and I would not recommend this company to anyone. I am gutted and I hope that no-one else has to go through this experience.... Read more

Jessica tool overall control of our sale and I can say without reservation that she worked absolutely flat out to get us the best price and terms for the cafe. Under no circumstances sell your business with Hilton Smythe. We made the unfortunate decision to sign a six month contract with them back in February this year to sell our shop. A valuer visited us and told us that if we paid so much upfront, they'd be no more fee's to pay and if the shop wasn't sold within six months we could simply pull it off the market or go with someone else. It was originally marketed and valued at £50,000. Initially we had a lot of interest and a sale looked likely. Then lockdown happened three weeks into the shop being advertised and all went quiet until late July, early August. Barely anything from Hilton Smythe. This we had expected due to the circumstances. In the meantime, the shop has been open and trading extremely well. Then come early August, we start being messed around by the agent. Suddenly and without any warning another agent has taken over and is arranging viewings with people who are not properly vetted. We're let down at the last minute by people who don't show up. We then reduce the price of our business in an effort to sell quicker, even then the agents kept calling with offer's well below the new asking price and when we turned them all down, we were made to feel like we're the ones being unreasonable and as though we should just accept any offer. Low and behold, we have decided to take our business off the market. Our contract ran out on August 2nd, therefore we are now out of contract. But... Hilton Smythe have stated that we have to give them six weeks notice for them to take our business off the market and in this time, we must accept viewings else we are liable for a fee of almost £3,000! We only received an actual copy of our contract, the day we gave Hilton Smythe our notice, which was two days ago. Yesterday, emails were flying back and forth between Myself and the agency over yet another no show. Hilton Smythe have become bullies and will stoop to any depths. They're not on the sellers side, the very people paying them and they will send anyone, unvetted, to waste your time on the promise of a sale. No matter how hard you try to get out of it, they will use 'the contract' against you. Do expect a level of stress that will drive you to the brink of a nervous breakdown and if you have a decent business, expect it to be adversely affected by bogus buyers phoning them and then you being forced into showing such people around! I urge anyone thinking of selling a business, go elsewhere. I wish I had seen some of these reviews back in February.... Read more

Shocking and unprofessional service. Stay away from this agency as a landlord you only pay money on a monthly basis and nothing is getting done by the agency. If tenants damage anything in the property they are very unprofessional in handling the matter. Cleaning service they use absolute disaster - no cleaning is ever done your property will be damaged and drown in dirt from the tenants and noting will be done until you go and clean it yourself. Doesn't matter whether you speak to Matt, Scott or any one else, they lie about what has and hasn't been done (basically nothing is getting ever done) - absolute disaster for the landlords - stay away !!! if something goes wrong you as a landlord responsible for chasing them and they don't answer the phone and don't phone you back, very unprofessional. Stay away from them!!... Read more

We are immensely grateful to Fiona Gormley for her highly professional and tireless support, enthusiasm and knowledge, whilst selling our house during this prolonged period of political and economical unrest. Savills were our second agents after trying unsuccessfully to sell through a local agent. With said agent, it became clear, that after initial marketing efforts, our property was relegated to a non prominent position. Having slipped down the ASPC listings, there was no effort made to stimulate fresh interest. Our initial concerns about moving to Savills focused on the slightly higher cost and lack of ASPC presence. However, Fiona Gormley’s intelligent, empathic, down to earth approach impressed us. She kept us from despair over the long haul. Fiona obtained multiple newspaper articles about our house. We featured, often prominently, in almost all of the National and local press, sometimes twice. We even had a photographer come from the New York Times. Our house received interest from far afield as well as from locals- it was eventually bought by a couple from the south of England. Fiona handled negotiations with integrity and we were delighted by the outcome. We cannot thank her enough.... Read more
