You might find many positive reviews from sellers, but I strongly advise first-time buyers to steer clear of this agency. When I viewed the property, I was assured it was in excellent condition, with the exception of the boiler being a bit old. However, as recommended to me, I still arranged for a independent survey. Due to an unexpected emergency, the survey was delayed by a week. This delay wouldn’t have affected the sale since the completion date was still a month away. Despite this, the agency contacted me, pressuring me to cancel the survey because the seller was growing impatient (a tactic that, in hindsight, seems manipulative). Unfortunately, I felt I had little choice, as the house I was renting was soon to be sold. It turned out that the house suffered from severe mould and damp issues - an information that was withhold from me during the viewing and that would have been revealed in the survey. Fixing these problems has already cost me several thousand pounds. I strongly discourage first-time buyers, especially my NHS colleagues who need to buy in this area for work, from using this agency. They simply cannot be trusted.

I was a tenant for a year and a bit, definitely was the worst experience for me. They did not take my complaint seriously regarding another tenant in the house, it took an individual with connections to the council for them to take it seriously. Furthermore, they also tried to increase my rent - after I’ve paid. They asked me to send additional £50 for the rent increase. Even though they did not informed me previously about the rent increase, obviously need to learn about contract law and read their own contract to know that it wasn’t legal to do that. When I moved in, the room was dirty - it has not been cleaned by the previous tenant nor cleaned by them. I found the tenant’s underwear underneath the bed when I was cleaning up. The fault lies with me for failing to mention this to the agency. I normally don’t leave reviews, however I do recommend people to think twice it when renting a house/room with Truepenny Charlton office. Especially as a black/person of colour.

Truepenny’s was the estate agency that sold my sister’s flat on Heathwood Gardens in Charlton. Hayden Ellis was the estate agent who guided me through the whole process. It was a marathon as the first buyer dropped out at the last minute. Hayden found another buyer almost immediately and although there were a few hiccups along the way we managed to close the deal successfully yesterday. Wallace Jaffray is the person who takes over once a buyer has been found and looks after the administrative details of the process — he was also extremely helpful, responsive and reliable. Arranged a viewing on a her property with her which turned out to be far better than it looked from the photos. She showed me around and facilitated my being able to ask the current tenant questions about the property. Would highly recommend.

Renting in London is awful! But it’s always good when you have estate agents that are helpful. There aren’t many out there, but Truepennys are great. Sarah G helped us look for some place and was so kind when showing us around. Was reassuring and could answer all questions so little ambiguity. Even if she didn’t know, she’d go above and beyond to help.

From we moved to the flat we asked them to find a solution with the windows, beacuse the was in the 9th floor and near to the river in Woolich and the winter was terrible we could hear how thw wind entered in the flat. They sent three “handy mans” in different time and all of them said the same, the landord needed to change the windows. They never found a solution.
After the flat had oudor from the pipes, we asked them a plumber because the pipes had a structural problem and they send a plumber who asked them £300 for one hour so they decided to sent us the invoice for we paid it. We refuse because they never checked if the plumber made the work (the plumber wanted to earn for 3 hours when he was only 1 hour), but didn’t mind. I was lucky becuase I asked my neighbour stay in my flat while the plumber was there.
Finally they are threatening me because if I do not contract a cleaning company before handing them over the department they could keep part of my deposit, it is as if they are forcing me to spend yes or yes on professional cleaners, even asking me to send them the proof we contract that cleaning company.

I highly don't recommend , they are some cowboys liars , problems with the deposit, late answer to emails ,try to intimidate ,i really advise to avoid those sharks and go for a bigger company , better pay more money instead having problems at the end , if i could rate them less than one star i would do .
