2nd Mar 2019 (7 years ago)We are student at Durham University and we decided to rent a house. I called the estate agent and they agreed to send us the agreement and everything to rent this one house that we really liked. We were supposed to arrive a week later to submit the forms and pay deposit. When I got the papers, they confirmed with us that the house would be definitely be reserved for us. However, the morning we were supposed to hand in the papers, I got a short, badly articulated email saying that the property was no longer available and that we should look somewhere else. No explanation, nothing. We were angry because student accommodation is competitive and we lost so much time waiting for this house. Upon emailing them multiple times, they finally said that the previous tenants decided to stay for another year. Didn’t they confirm with the current tenants that they would be moving out? Why would they even list the house if that was an option? .Why send us the agreements and everything? They didn’t even bother trying to find us other options that we could stay at instead. All and all, I would never use this agent again because their service is absolutely terrible

The whole team were professional, friendly and helpful throughout, with excellent communication at every stage. We were always kept updated, which made the whole process feel straightforward and as stress-free as possible.
The marketing of the property was also excellent. The photographs were high quality and really captured the property at its best.
A special mention to Sarah Hill, who was my designated agent throughout the process. Sarah was fantastic — knowledgeable, supportive and reassuring, and always available whenever I had a question or needed help. Her guidance and attention to detail made a real difference, and I always felt I was in safe hands.
I would definitely recommend Peter Heron to anyone looking to sell their property, and I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again in the future.

Stuart has been amazing ?????? keeping me informed and advising what we need to do etc and Dawn well let's just say she is fantastic explained in fine detail what we needed to do along the way as we haven't bought a home or sold one in 31 years ..

19th Feb 2026 (8 mo. ago)They offered advice on valuation that matched our expectations, they put it on the market at the value we wanted. We had viewings constantly whilst it was on the market.
They advised us to keep taking viewings after offer accepted until we were sale agreed. This resulted in a higher bid, so it was worth it.
Only negative was the amount of Photoshop used in photos.

Nor to suffer broken promises, or to be introduced to a buyer who definitely isn't going to be able to buy, and an agent is well aware. These things cause real damage and distress to a seller. I/we definitely don't recommend this business, it caused provable harm.

They changed my property price daily without my permission.
They lower price to less than what i pay for it,
Then they put the price 10 times higher than what I pay for it.
This is bulling tactic

My experience with John Buck Estate Agents has been excellent from the very beginning.
The property was beautifully presented in the listing, with excellent photographs that immediately caught my attention.
From the initial viewing right through to completion and the handover of the keys, Victoria was consistently approachable, friendly, professional and genuinely engaged in the process.
Communication was excellent throughout. Victoria kept in touch, provided updates, answered questions and was always willing to help, particularly during the final stages of the purchase.
What really stood out was that the service didn’t end after the offer was accepted. Victoria remained actively involved every step of the way, making sure things continued moving forward.
