29th Aug 2024 (8 weeks ago)For now I have nothing nice to say coz heartache they giving me is too much . These are the emails I keep getting . I was to moving on 19th and they said i can’t move in coz my partner has no right to rent because he is in a different country . That was sorted. If the house was ready for me to move in on 19th ,explain to me why I am still being told I can’t move in because they are things they are still doing in the house . Today is 29th I was told I can move in on 30th and they will send me the tenancy to sign . It is 6pm and I have no update . I don’t even know if I am moving on 30th or not . Ps the moving date was changed from 28th to 30th . They are not answering my emails today either . Good luck to during my tenancy that is if I finally move in .

17th Jun 2024 (18 weeks ago)Terrible customer service. Initial stage of coming to value the property and take photos seemed promising and I was told they had high confidence in it selling. I only has 2 viewings in 12 weeks (one of which was a time waster). I had to chase for feedback and to prompt them to ask for feedback/follow up. It seemed like apart from uploading the advert to Right Move they were not going to attempt to make any effort to sell the property. It was only when I said I was considering going with a different agent they said they can send out a matching email to potential buyers (why this was done from the very start I don’t know!). Definitely felt as though because they are a larger firm it didn’t matter if the house sold or not. I was given no advice when I called to discuss things so I decided to drop the price, still no luck. I’m really unsure what I would have been paying for if they had actually delivered.

I've been in the Mortgage industry for almost 18 years and deal with many Estate Agents on a daily basis, I can honestly say I've never experienced such a professional company. They are super efficient and everything is done in such a friendly manner. If you are looking to sell your home or you are buying through them, you will not find a better service anywhere. With the help of Julie and her team, every client I've ever helped who has been buying a property through Peter James, have been thrilled at the speed in which the transaction completed.

My request to the office was dealt with swift and courteously. Alex arrived promptly for the appointment and in a friendly and professional manner he carried out a thorough and extremely useful appraisal. Highly recommended.

27th Sep 2024 (25 days ago)I had a few estate agents come out to see me and chose Barbers due to their professionalism, sensitive understanding of my situation and explaining everything clearly from the start. They really stood out above the others that had visited, and I was disappointed throughout the whole process. The sale turned out to be a very complicated sale due to many issues we weren’t aware of initially,. Barbers supported me through the whole process. Matthew negotiated with the buyer instead of leaving it to the solicitors, which would have increased my legal costs, on many occasions. Overall a very drawn out, emotionally and stressful sale and I am so glad I chose Barbers to guide me through this. I felt they were by my side without having to ask. I would recommend them without hesitation.
18th Mar 2024 (7 mo. ago)DO NOT SELL YOUR BUSINESS THROUGH THIS COMPANY! READ THE SMALL PRINT This company are extremely aggressive and unprofessional. We advertised a business with them, paid an huge fee to advertise. Later after terminating, we agreed investment (not even a sale) from an investor we met directly, who was never introduced by Hilton Smythe. After accepting investment after terminating with Hilton Smythe they demanded their commission!! Totally unreasonable given it was after termination and the person who invested in our business was never known to or introduced by Hilton Smythe! They are now behaving aggressively and threatening legal action. We in turn have reported them to the ombudsman and trading standards. They are snake oil salesmen. DO NOT DEAL!
3rd Aug 2021 (3 years ago)It's never easy selling the home of a deceased parent, but it helps if you are supported by a good agent. Barbers were alongside us throughout the process, offering helpful advice and support and bringing us to a successful conclusion. A sale was agreed in excess of the asking price within a matter of days, but, due to Covid-19 and other difficulties, took 4 months to complete. Through all this time we never felt cut off or out of the loop, as we were kept well-informed of progress (or lack of it!). A thoroughly professional job from start to finish - we would readily recommend Barbers.

From beginning till the end of sale and even after that; she helped me in every way possible to do a very good sale of my property in Tattenhoe. Her enthusiasm to sell a property, present it in the best possible way for photo shoots and doing all the showings however late or on a Sunday; cannot be compared to the Hight St estate agents who only do 9-5 job. Sharon handled all the difficult tasks for me,very patient in answering my doubts and queries even after exchange of contracts. She responded immediately to my calls or emails; never thinking house is sold ; so why bother. I really appreciate her dedication to her job and in wanting to do it to the best of her ability;"which is way beyond others. I have recommended her to all my friends because she makes time for you and the sale of your house and in making you special as a client. 3rd Oct 2024 (19 days ago)On the whole Oakmans were very good. Paddy in particular always kept me informed of how the sale was going. He was very polite and knowledgeable of how to sell a property. My only negative is that they should advertise the properties on the outside of their high street shops. People passing estate agents often look in the window to see what's available. they might improve the amount of trade they get.
