Sam was so helpful with our house purchase; it wasn't the easiest, given we were first time buyers at the bottom of a long chain, but she was always available for questions, and always proactive in updating or informing us whenever things had changed.
Sam was especially busy as the chain moved to exchange & completion, and had to go above and beyond to communicate & organise with solicitors and vendors along the chain, but she was always open and supportive during this time.
Alan De Maid, and Sam in particular, ensured to do all they could in speeding our purchase along, whilst being supportive and informative. I would definitely recommend Sam and her services going forward.

I have nothing but great things to report about Alan de Maid. They were completely professional and realistic. They were available. I can’t overstate how important it was to me to know that someone who knew my property was on the end of the phone. They were quick to answer, always called back, kept me up to date so I never felt I was chasing them. They dealt with problems and gave me really helpful advice. I felt very strongly that they were on my side and had my best interests in mind. In an industry that has had a terrible reputation they stood out as utterly trustworthy. I would not hesitate to recommend them. And I don’t do that lightly.

The company’s agency fees represented excellent value for money. The process of getting the flat on to the market was smooth. Good quality pictures were taken and the flat was marketed online as well as by the Chistlehurst team. As a buyer through Alan De Maid, Chislehurst, I was very pleased with the service I received. Peter and Maria were very quick to respond to queries and acted efficiently to keep the process moving between the solictors for both sides. They were also very good at keeping the pressure on us (as buyers) to move towards a completion date for their sellers. Even during challenging COVID times, they were able to facilitate us to have a few visits to the property to allow for electrical etc checks. Having viewed a property previously with another agent, I can say Alan De Maid compared very favourably - 3 months later, I am still waiting for the agent of the other property to follow up with me in relation to some questions. Even if that property had sold, not great behaviour towards a keen buyer. I would definitely recommend Alan De Maid, Chislehurst if you are looking to sell a property.

We were selling in an unusual and changeable time with Brexit and the Covid-19 pandemic but the team didn't let that phase them and kept pushing for viewings until they found us a buyer. I faced the daunting task of finding an estate agent to sell my deceased sisters house. Alan deMaid were recommended by a neighbour to the property. Living 80 miles away I made an appointment with Peter to meet him at the house. From that moment I knew the right agents had been chosen. Peter was very professional in his appraisal of the property and suggested a price that was very fair. Within a week we had a buyer and I was always kept informed of progress. They went above what one would expect an estate agent to do, even delivering books to a legatee. If I had any questions they were answered in good humour and I never felt rushed.
They often visited the house while the sale was going through to check it was ok. Thank you all at Alan DeMaid for being so patient and kind you lessoned the pain of losing my sister and selling her property

Maria and Peter.
My mother died in 2018, she was 103, and lived in a small detached house in Chislehurst that would need extensive remodeling. Due to the wonderfully bucolic garden, and the amazing commuter location, the house was a valuable piece of real estate.
I live in the USA, I only had mother’s executor in the UK to rely on the make sure that this family asset would realize its potential.
We hired Alan de Maid and met Maria. Peter joined to support Maria. They were a brilliant team.
The house went on the market in August of 2018. The house sold in October 2019. The selling price was realistic, and we were pleased. We never felt that Maria was trying to sell it quickly in order to end the time invested.
I briefly explored the possibility of an investor, and when this did not work out, Maria was most gracious when we desired to return.
Maria was very clever at negotiating and very firm in resolving difficult or intimidating situations. A very “seasoned” professional.
The house was viewed 67 times, and 8 offers were made.
It was a hard road for Maria, but she believed in the property and never gave up! We were updated when appropriate and given the very best advice and encouragement at all times.
We will always remember this “happy” experience and I will be eternally grateful.

What really stood out though was the level of communication that kept all parties of the chain in the loop after offers had been accepted. Due to this sale management service the sale actually was concluded on schedule. After selling 12 properties in the last 3 years through different agents around the country I cannot emphasise the importance of this enough, otherwise all you will end up with is classic house purchase/sale turmoil. Basically, all agents have a Rightmove listings, charge similar commission & will obviously organise viewings etc, but there is only one agency that i have found in recent years that has a Peter Batty ensuring your requirements as a client are actually met. Thank you very much for helping us getting over the final hurdle to exchange contracts.
When we had to appoint agents, we received a number of valuations and quotes, but Peter stood out to us at the time - he just came across so much more professional and knowledgeable than some of the other agents. We decided to go with Alan de Maid despite the fact that your fees were slightly higher than some of your competitors.
We have not regretted that decision for one second. As a team you have been incredibly helpful and supportive from the very first day. You were flexible when we were unsure whether to put our house on the market at first and even though you were proved right you never said "I told you so"! You managed to book 5 viewings for our house within 24 hours of us confirming that we are happy to go on the market and managed to secure 3 offers within 2 weeks! That was incredible! And might I add, all 3 of those offers were higher than the other valuations we received for our house at the time.
All of that was brilliant, but Paul's support during the process of negotiating with our buyers and helping us to get to the point of exchange was even more incredible. Although I've never met Paul in person, it feels like I've known him for ages. He always made time to talk to me, returned phone calls promptly, and most of all, I could tell he was always up to speed with the latest news regarding the sale. We did not have the easiest of buyers, but Paul dealt with all of that and managed to get us over the line. If it wasn't for him, I'm sure we would have still been a long way off exchange today.
Whilst I realise you must have many clients, I never felt like one of many, I always felt important and valued.
I'm hoping that we will live in our new home for many years to come and as such won't need estate agents again in the near future. However should we ever decide to buy / sell again you will be our first port of call. And of course we will recommend your services to all of our friends.
