I have just removed my property with Bairstow eves in Caterham and based on my recent experience I would not recommend them. Initially communication was good with regular updates however that was only for the first 2 weeks [Thank you Jonathan for that :) ]. I hardly had any viewings on my property and of the 3 viewings in 8 weeks that I did have I had to chase for feedback which I would have assumed would be standard practice for an estate agent to provide. It seemed they were not very motivated or interested in my sale and they blamed the low viewing numbers on ‘the market’ and ‘ the election’ . Whilst I know both of these things have had an effect on the market it seemed that this was an excuse being given to me due lack of proactivity. There didn’t really seem to be any proactive action being taken to insight any interest. I asked for my viewing figures on Rightmove and Zoopla and I am still waiting for this . I was told that all of their flat viewing numbers were low as a justification. Apart from listing my property on the sites there was hardly anything else that they did. Communication was little to non-existent and i had to call for updates. I often felt when calling for updates I was being a ‘bother’ to them and was often rushed off the phone. I didn’t feel I was being listened to throughout the process. On the couple of occasions that I did pop into the branch I didn’t experience a very friendly environment and the times when I did call there was never really any update, and I was often told things like ‘oh someone did enquire but ill have to check and get back to you if there has been anything else’. This was quite a regular response from them. Due to low viewing numbers, I asked if they felt there was any changes that could be made and only at that point was it suggested that we move pictures around and change the property description and even after this I had to chase for feedback to see if this improved anything. I would have thought that making changes etc would be something that I wouldn’t have to push myself. I feel I wasted time being listed with them and they did not make the experience an enjoyable one. When I said I wanted to end my contract with them they didn't seem bothered or even ask why I wanted to remove my property instead I was told 'that they had my details on file should they have suitable properties for my onward purchase ' (How Ironic? !) I only wish I had done more research on other agents in the area and not listed with them and I would encourage others to shop around before listing with them as this has set me back.... Read more

Nick, Corinne and Jonathan at Bairstow Eves in Caterham were absolutely brilliant! Why bother using anyone else??... Bairstow Eves in Caterham would not be Bairstow Eves in Caterham without each of them there! This is the second time my partner has used Bairstow Eves in Caterham - the same three names from this branch were involved in sale of a previous property back in 2009, which is when they originally did a great job, and they did yet another cracking job of selling another property for us again - which Completed in July of this year. We could not have asked for a better agency to act for us - from the very beginning with Nick's extensive knowledge and experience along with his non-hard-selling but proactive approach to obtaining our business in a very calm and friendly manner, to the effortless bookings and proactiveness in viewings - both Jonathan and Corinne excelled, demonstrating their years of knowledge and experience in the business. Nothing was too much for them - they went above and beyond (just like the first time). We had a very tricky sale, as our buyer was using TWO Solicitors to buy our property and to add, the other agents in the chain were rather absent during the whole process!! Corinne held everything together to get everything across the line and deserves a medal for what she had to deal with. It's a shame we are no longer in the area, but without a doubt, would use them again if we were still in the Caterham area. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH for everything!
