My mum enquired multiple times about a property being marketed by Balgores in Chelmsford and repeatedly tried to arrange a viewing. On several occasions, we were told that the property had already been sold and that viewings were no longer available.
However, despite being told this, the property continued to appear on major property websites for weeks afterwards. More recently, we even received an automated email notification advising that the asking price had been reduced from £450,000 to £425,000, which suggests the property remained on the market the entire time.
This has been extremely frustrating and disappointing. Had we been told that an offer had been accepted or that the property was still available but subject to negotiations, we would have understood. Instead, we were repeatedly informed that it had been sold, which appears inconsistent with the fact that it remained advertised and has since had a price reduction.
My mother was a genuine buyer with the financial means to proceed and made multiple enquiries, yet she was never given a fair opportunity to view the property. The lack of clear and accurate communication left us feeling dismissed and undervalued as prospective purchasers.
Based on our experience, customer service and communication fell well below the standard we would expect from a professional estate agent.

I think Ashton are more aimed at selling houses than flats/apartments.
They contacted me once, right near the end of the contract. I had to call them to find out feedback and if viewings took place. This was a little disappointing.

I’ve been in the property industry for 40 years so when it comes to selling your own home, you know what you are looking for.
Joe Hayes is and has always been very professional, he does what he says he is going to do.
Honesty is key, there is no point telling you an inflated sale price, you are just wasting everyone’s time.
Great communication, a driven mindset and the best selling agent in Brentwood.
I would highly recommend the Brentwood team.
Under offer within 10 days and we have now exchanged contracts.

The staff are extremely helpful and polite once in your home they treat it with respect and keep you informed every step of the way, The leader of the branch is Charlie King who leads by example and expects his team to match his enthusiasm,. After having my house listed with another agent for six weeks with very little action or communication. Charlie was sure he could sell my house in two weeks, but in all honesty it took them four days and that was because there was a bank holiday!
The error I made was not using them as my first choice DO NOT make my error . use Balgores first.
