Poor service from the branch. I have requested on multiple occasions for the correct searches parameters to be in place in line with our requirements on their matching system but, despite guarantees this had been done when calling through, I kept receiving multiple emails for properties that did not match what we are looking for.
I have called the branch to ask for our details to be removed from their system, as we no longer wish to search through this branch given the constant emails from their agents. Had further guarantees this had been done for us but still receiving emails from agents.

They think it's ok to dump their signs in a communal bin area, which won't be collected by the council, and the residents have to deal with it. This is not the first time, the last sign was left dumped for months until I had to break it down and bin it. They take 5 minutes to put them up however! They also just leave their cable ties littered on the floor when removing signs (after attaching it to a road sign which is also not allowed but seems to be frequent practice) Lazy and inconsiderate to other residents and getting quite annoying.

I used Barnard Marcus for the sale of my property and the purchase of my new property they were great (specifically Michael Griffin and Jill Parry). I found with a few other estate agents when getting valuations that they can be quite pushy however Michael was the total opposite, he provided me with my valuation and all the information I would need to make an informed decision about selling my home and didn't try to push me into getting on the market before I was ready.
My sale was actually not straight forward at all as I was buying a new build which came with a delayed completion date. Michael managed to find me a buyer that was happy to complete when I was ready to move which was going to take up to 6 months. (I can't imagine there are many people who buy a home and will be that patient).
Once prices had been agreed, the exchange process began which had several bumps in the road (solicitors fault) all of which Michael and Jill stayed on top of to keep things moving. Jill kept me updated as much as humanly possible and if it had not been for her im not sure we would have exchanged on the day that we did.
Overall I would absolutely recommend selling or buying with Barnard Marcus, they ticked all the boxes for me and charge reasonable fees based on other quotes I was provided.

Scott and Lucy at the Sanderstead office provided an excellent service when I was selling my flat. They were polite and helpful, offered professional advice, responded to phone calls and emails, and relayed messages without delay.
They kept the sale alive during times when there were pauses from either buyer or seller.

We purchased a home through the Sanderstead branch of BM recently and found the purchase very well handled by them. The staff at BM were all helpful, patient and friendly, and prompt in their communications back to us. They were particularly helpful in chasing our slow solicitors for answers and updates on where things were. We had a good experience all around.

Not recommended. I had to re-write the particulars for the advert- looked like copy and paste had been used, didn't sell the good points of the flat at all. More lines written about schools in the area- totally irrelevant for a 1 bed flat! When I complained, the person who wrote the advert admitted they hadn't seen the flat themselves. They were happy to use the advert that I wrote myself.

Shelley has been fantastic throughout the buying process and made everything super easy, and she's always quick to reply to emails and let us know what the next steps are.

The manager of this particular branch is absolutely vile. Avoid them if you can! I tried to arrange some viewings for my husband and I, no one confirmed the viewings the day before so I went to the branch on the saturday morning to confirm only to find the manager, Shelley, outside shouting at one of her employees who looked rater upset, intimidated and embarrassed, how unprofessional. Fair to say I decided not to go ahead with the viewing with them. Later that week I received a rather rude and abrupt call from Shelley asking why I didn't attend my viewings. Shocking!

If I could leave minus stars for this estate agent I would! I can safely say one of the worst if not worst estate agents I've ever had the misfortune to deal with. Arranged multiple viewings with them on a Saturday morning to be contacted on the morning of my viewings to be told the estate who was going to be showing me the properties was ill and that all of the timings had to be moved. No problem, these things happen.
I couldn't do the other timings as had other viewings on but agreed to see one house in particular. I was then contacted while standing outside the property to say the agent was running 10 minutes late.
20 minutes passes I call the office and there's no answer.
I wait another 30 minutes
At this point I was so annoyed I went to their office round the corner only to find they've closed early (professional)! On the Monday when I contact the office to complain I was told by the Manager Shelley "I don't know I wasn't there" great feedback! She then transfers me to the agent (who for the life of me I can't remember her name) who swears blind that she was there (she 100% wasn't) and when i asked her why didn't she call me she couldn't say anything only that how could i miss the car given it was branded with their logo..obviously said for the benefit of her manager! Do yourself a favor and seriously avoid at all costs or use BM in South Croydon instead and ask for Elliot, he's lovely and super professional!

Paul informed me of all the different options we had which we didn't know before! I have now exchanged and completed and couldn't of got the property of our dreams without him!
