I can only say positive things about Ben and Beresfords! Our property did not complete, which was outside Beresfords hands, but Ben was always very friendly, communicated with us regularly and willing to help out wherever he could within the whole process. As first time buyers we didn’t know much about the whole process but Ben always took the time to explain things to us which my partner & I are extremely grateful for! Highly recommend!

Back in 2023, I appointed two agents to sell my home in Great Dunmow, Beresfords were head and shoulders above the other agent, more viewings, better communications etc. it wasn’t an easy sale falling through twice, Ben was excellent throughout, always responsive to calls, full of good ideas and saw the sale through in a professional manner from start to finish. Overall a very good service.

In April 2023. We’d been with Purple Bricks for nearly 4 months and no interest in our house at all. We then switched to Beresfords in Dunmow and Ben sold our house within a week. Months later and absolutely nothing to do with Beresfords our house sale fell through. We were gutted as we’d also found a house we loved (also with Beresfords) and risked losing it. Incredibly Ben swung into action again and sold our house for a second time to the first people through the door! Even better still we were able to keep the house we’d found too!! We completed in Jan 2024 and love our new house. I cannot recommend Ben and Beresfords highly enough!!!

Having recently bought a house through Beresfords estate agents Great Dunmow, I can confidently say I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again. Ben from Beresfords has been my agent throughout the whole process, he has demonstrated professionalism throughout and has excellent communication skills. This was a particularly difficult transaction due to various problems in the chain, however Ben has carefully managed expectations, been open and honest and used all of his resources to successfully complete my house purchase.

Just purchased my first property through Beresfords and could not fault them at all.
Ben picked up my first phone call and I’m so glad he did, he made the whole process so easy and smooth. His knowledge of the property, area and amenities sold it to me. He met me for several viewings, answered all my questions (there were loads) and even chased and met up with the locksmith at the property in his own time when there was a missing key, nothing was ever too much.
He bridged the gap between buyer and part-exchange company well and chased the seller up on my behalf time and time again to ensure timely close.

Not your stereotypical estate agents. Genuine and decent people - a real credit to the industry.
As an ex-estate agent and property developer myself, I found having to deal with most of Dunmow's Agents a real pain (to put it politely). Viewing after viewing, I would look over to my wife and say "wait for it" and like clockwork, we were told about the countless viewings they had lined up for the afternoon and how important it was for us to put an offer forward 5 minutes ago. Worst of all most had over-valued the properties in the first place, wasting both our time and their seller's time. It's a shame that many of Dunmow's sellers are convinced by inflated valuations given to them by many of Dunmow's lesser Agents (subsequently being tied into sole-agency contracts whilst the agents work on convincing them to reduce the price - getting people like me through to door only to waste my time too, no thanks). Honestly, save your time and instruct an agent like Beresfords in the first place.
Beresfords were a breath of fresh air. We were shown correctly valued properties and were given the space we needed to view them without feeling pressured.
Ben Gillyon was an absolute pleasure to deal with, from the very first viewing we had with him around a month ago, to the very last one towards the end of last week (that we're now purchasing). We found ourselves calling Beresfords throughout the process (whilst actually avoiding calls from other agents) to see if they had anything else for us to view, simply because Ben was such a great guy to deal with (David was also very friendly and helpful each time we called).
Ben has been exceptionally helpful, friendly and informative throughout. He's proof that people really do buy people, and ultimately end up buying properties that are right for them, not properties that are forced on them. Dunmow could learn an awful lot from this guy. 5 Stars, highly recommended.

Gillian was a real breath of fresh air. I have spent weeks dealing with estate agents, many of whom don’t deserve any business. I have found many of them very unprofessional, they don’t get back to you and lack any common courtesy or respect. Many of them have left me frustrated and irritated.
