Appalling staff work here - will park their cars across neighbours driveways when showing around nearby houses, blocking everybody in and then get very rude and aggressive about moving them. Not concerned with the community or local opinion clearly.

We used to Beresfords to let out our house in Witham. They let it out to someone who was selling drugs out of the house. Since he’s been out - we’ve had friends who have moved in. We’ve been told by multiple neighbors that they complained to Beresfords about the drug problem - and we were never notified.
Our friends said that they found used needles in the house when they moved in in the bathroom, even after Beresfords supposedly did an inventory of the home (Beresfords also told us they checked for animals and found no evidence of them - even though there were large amounts of animal poo in the backyard.)
Would not trust them to help with letting out a property again.

A couple of weeks ago I came to the conclusion to sell my house, upon searching on Google for best agents in my area and looking around Witham I noticed the company “Beresford’s Estate Agents” appear at the top of my internet searches and the amount of “Sold” boards in the area!
Beresford were the first company I called to understand the process. I spoke to a very helpful Charlotte Micallef, who was able to assist me with all questions and additonal information I would need to know in order to proceed with my first ever house sale.
When I was ready to put the house on the market we went with Beresford as my top pick and Harris and Woods (Mainly due to the higher guide price they attracted me with).
The next steps of getting the pictures for the house were a dream with Beresford, Charlotte turning up on time and ready to go was amazing especially as I was working from home and had to take time out of my day. Charlotte was fast and efficient and the end results were brilliant for showcasing the house.
Within in 1 week I had a number of viewings and high percentage of those viewings giving serious offers on the house; compared to the 4 viewings we had with Harris and Woods. In the end I accepted a fantastic offer through Beresford which has left me completely thrilled!
Huge shout outs to Oliver and his team but most important Charlotte Micallef who made everything possible and did everything and more to reassure me Beresford were the right ones to sell the house, of which I couldn’t agree more with!

Amazing Service!
After initially advertising with another agent who did not provide the service promised we appointed Beresfords.
Within 24 hours of contact they had revisited us to confirm valuation and the approach. Within 72 hours we were back on the market and a week later had sold our house!
Charlotte was incredible, frequently updating us and providing feedback, her and the team dealt with all the viewings brilliantly and our stress was minimal with the process with the team.
The dedication and time Charlotte puts into her clients is above and beyond what we expected and we are so grateful for her support and advice throughout!

We recently got in contact with Charlotte from Beresfords to value our home. Charlotte was efficient from the start. She was honest, upfront and was very helpful. Charlotte wasted no time in sending over the paperwork for us to fill in and gave us an excellent rate. Charlotte valued our property far higher than other estate agents and made it clear how she was going to advertise our property. Once we’d filled in the paperwork, Charlotte kept us up-to date throughout the process and also made sure that she answered all of our questions and queries. I brought my house through Beresford and it was a terrible purchase, it’s was sold through the Witham branch yet Colchester branch just would not butt out. When it came to sell my property I looked at different estate agents, like Hart in Witham, against my better judgement I went to Beresford and decided to give them the chance to redeem themselves. This was the worse thing I could have ever have done. I listened to Olly from Witham telling me his facts and telling me his promises and it started off ok, 3 viewers all booked in for the first Saturday it was on the market! I thought this is wonderful.... 3/4 weeks later no viewers, no board outside, no window display presents, no call backs, no feedback. But apparently I have been having 119 clicks through Rightmove, I have asked them to remove the virtual tour of my house, as I feel this is a lazy selling tactic, to buy a house you get a feel for it by viewing in person, also my partner phoned up and asked for information on the house, they never asked his name, or contact details and they did not push for a viewing, it was all very laid back! When I phone the next day and told them, someone I know had enquired they told me that they were sending him details of our house and they stated I was a liar when I said this was not the case, I’d sat next him while he was on the phone listening to absolutely everything!!
After speaking to the office on different occasions I was told I would receive a call back the next day, nothing! I wish I had off gone to Hart and let them sell my house. I feel Beresford ruined the marketing on my house and now the ship has sailed for fresh good marketing as I was promised with Beresford. Also after speaking to Netanagent, it turns out Beresford are a 1% agent however they have charged me 1.25%.
Avoid this agent at all costs!
I want my contract with them cancelled with immediate effect.

Well what can I say, we had a really bad experience with our previous estate agent and Jordan has been amazing to help us giving us advice. When we first met him was at a property we viewed and unfortunately due to the location we kept looking. He found and house that we might liked and we did. But due to the dealing with had with a previous estate agent we were having trouble with selling our home! However now we are more on board with Jordan and his team and hoping for the best! He never stopped asking me for updates about our situation. We cannot thank Jordan enough and that would just be the beginning of it. From what we have experienced so far we have are truly grateful.

Hello I’m Ioana Luchici, ex-tenant at 26 Humber road and I want to reply to Mr. Bond’s reply. We barely just moved out on 19th of October and other people immediately moved in and we haven’t gotten a response from the landlord or from Beresfords agency. I asked for a invoice for the repairs done in the that house because they repairs are finished already. I think that you should check all the comments below because other people have the same problem as us with the deposit which shows that this is a real problem. Please don’t ask your employees to write 5 star reviews because we already know them by their names and it’s not fair.
You haven’t replied to my problem with the original contract from Beresfords. I asked for a original contract and I got just an empty draft. The landlord must give invoices otherwise he will do tax evasion. These discussions don’t have to be in public but you forced to do this because you ignored our emails. I already submitted a complaint against Beresfords because I don’t know who the landlord is and I hope that the problem will be fixed. In the next days I’ll contact every person that has had problems with Beresfords and make our stories public in a local media.

This is the WORST company I have ever dealt with!
Should have had our deposit back in our account on the 29th and guess what still NO MONEY! When I called to speak with the lady who was dealing with our checkout she has now left the company, which I'm not surprised about either.
I have been promised a call back from a manager this morning, I will wait in hope!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I lived in 26 Humber Road cm81tg and I had a contract with this agency.till 19th October, so , 12 days ago .
The landlord stopped some money from our deposit because we broke a tile in bathroom £150 , a stain on carpet £50 and and re-connect washing machine £48 and we agreed that .I emailed to Katy Barlow , inventory clerk , and asked her the invoice for the money that was stopped from my deposit.
She didn't give me any answer and I didn't receive yet the deposit back after 12 days .
I'm moved in this house last year 20th October and I signed a pre contract with this agency .
After few months I asked them a original contract and I received a Draft empty without name , signatures, etc .
Mrs Katy Barlow we still waiting an invoice for the money stopped and my deposit back
Please don't use this agency, they don't care about your money and don't have professional employees

DON'T RENT FROM THESE GUYS, YOU'VE BEEN WARNED
As per many of Beresford’s other reviews we are having similar issues.
I have been renting for many years and have to say that I have not had any issues like this before, they are a nasty company to deal with. When you have an issue they will not deal with it and are rude, it gets worse, when you move out they will get the sherlock Holmes magnifying glass and find problems that was already there before moving in, Oh and by the way make sure that you don’t leave so much as 1 coat hanger in the wardrobe because you will be penalised.

We are now in receipt of the costs for the deductions your landlord is making from your deposit.
The relevant issues in question with costs are summarised below.
1. Carpet cleaning and additional dusting as required.
2. Replace 2 x bulbs.
3. Replace reverse of letter box.
4. Replace broken socket in kitchen.
5. Replace kitchen blind - Contractor attended to reinstate but this had been broken and no fittings were present.
Total deposit retained: £1950.00
Proposed deductions: £380.00
Balance of deposit to be returned: £1570.00
Please confirm via email your acceptance of the above so that we can arrange the return of the balance due.

Hi,
We do not agree with the below deductions, in fact when you finished the checkout there was no mention of some of them until your return.
CARPETS
The carpet is over 10 years old and smelt of dogs when we moved in, regardless to that even if the carpets were new then we wouldn’t be required to get them conditioned, deodorise and sanitised unless we had pets which we don’t, we was also only living there for around 10-11 months. Also you have not even provided an official invoice
LIGHTBULBS
I went back and replaced all the lightbulbs after you left as many were blown, another fault in the house, however it looks like 2 may have blown again which we offered to replace, we didn’t receive an answer from you.
INTERNAL LETTERPLATE
This was never removed by us, why would we remove a letter plate, this was obviously another bodge job that just fell off, we did ask for you to let us know if it was in or around the drawers, NO reply
BROKEN SOCKET IN THE KITCHEN
This was never fixed to the wall, another bodge job in the house, because the fridge was covering it then it wasn’t an issue for us. (Please provide photo evidence of this being fixed to the wall on the original inventory.)
KITCHEN BLIND
This fell of the first time we pulled the string and when trying to fit it back the brackets were not tight enough so we left it off, the blind itself isn’t damaged, the fittings are already fixed to the wall.
Total deductions we accept liability for are: £7.20
There were a number of issues raised with Beresford regarding the property and this was also reported to citizens advise who advised we call out health and safety, which at the time I wished we did.
Claim 1)
Compensation for moving costs and expenses as well as stressed caused to Bianca who is heavily pregnant.
Claim 2)
Our Daughters hand was burnt taking cutlery out of the drawer, you sent in a contractor to simply Velcro the drawer shut
Claim 3)
A Panel fell of the wall onto our poorly 1 year olds head who not long underwent open heart surgery also damaging my Bose speaker worth hundreds of pound
Beresfords response: The landlord is happy for you to glue the panel back on, not even an apology.
Claim 4)
No Heating for around 2 weeks, no alternative heating offered and no emergency plumber, totally unacceptable when you have 3 very young Children.
We reported one of our kids being burnt in the shower, the thermostat had broken.
Beresfords response: This will not be replaced, you have a bath
As you are aware we already took legal advice in the past and made a complaint to your manager in the Witham branch.
