Max the progresser for the changeove of tenants stuck his big ore in and cost me £220 money, not happy in slightest, I have 2 properties with Chesterton's and I will be taking my business elsewhere unless I get this refunded from the estate agent company

Finding a short term rental process was fine. During my 6 weeks tenancy, we had a high number of viewings and rarely had a week where we did not have to accommodate viewings in.
Upon our tenancy ending, we were advised if we use Chestertons recommended cleaning companies stating we would be guaranteed that no deductions would be made for cleaning. Otherwise, a cleaning deduction would be applied.
The experience was horrendous with their partner cleaning company, West Park Cleaning. They caused damage to the property, stains that was not there before appeared and they removed items from the property leading to these missing items to be highlighted on the check out report. The cleaners arrived with a coffee cup in hand and lied about this. I opened the door to them and saw the main female was clutching a coffee cup. The stain that mysteriously appeared on the carpet after their “clean” is brown. The entire arrangement between their partner cleaning company and Chestertons feel very much like a scam.
Of course the cleaners would deny they did anything wrong. We did not ask for the carpets to be steam cleaned, there was no reason to as they were in good condition. The cleaners were likely aggrieved they couldn’t make any more money from us they purposely dirtied the carpet.

There staffs are VERY unprofessional. They cannot even fix simple problems (highly inefficient in fixing incorrect offer terms; set up deadlines but don’t notice customer, etc) and they even blame customers.

I had a very poor experience with the Chestertons Hyde Park and Marylebone team. I found that they were not communicative and the communication was misleading and inconsistent whenever they did text. Had a particularly bad experience with Jack (who did not call back despite leaving messages across 3 days) and with Megan (who communicated that my offer was tentatively accepted if my friend went to see the place in person, but when she did, the place was given to someone else anyway). I made a bid and did not receive a response for a week, which meant I lost valuable time and the opportunity to bid on other places while I was strung along and left without information.
Full context: I live in America and was looking for a house for my move to London while overseas. I bid on a property on a Thursday, and on texting the agent every day since was told that we would have an answer in 24 hours. I was asked to increase the offer due to a competitive process (which I did). On the subsequent Monday, when I was the only offer standing they introduced a new requirement to view the building in person before accepting or rejecting my offer. I had to call in a favor from a friend during a workday to go see the place. In the meantime, I was told by the agent (Megan) that if my friend goes to see the place and is OK with it, then my offer was tentatively accepted. When she went, it was revealed that the lift was not working and there were issues in the hallway, which was not previously communicated. I asked if it would be reasonable to lower the rent by 100 pounds / month until the work was done, and I was told by the agent that that would be a reasonable offer. Yet, despite stringing me along for a week, making me send a friend to view the property, and tentatively accepting the offer, in the end I was only called to be informed that they had accepted a different offer, after telling me mine was tentatively accepted.
In this process, I had called 6 times over the course of three days to speak with the person liaising with the the landlady (Jack). Despite leaving a message each time, I never received a callback until the end to tell me that they had gone with a different offer which had been placed after my offer was tentatively accepted.

AVOID AT ALL COST. Chestertons team is the worst - irresponsible and irresponsive from the beginning of our tenancy. The property was in horrible condition when handed over to us - door facing *outside* couldn’t be closed, no bed in the bedroom even though the property comes furnished and there was one during viewing, roof windows leaking, the list can go on…. Asked for repairs but took Chestertons 10 days to just come take a look and they couldn’t fix anything. Here comes the best: they told us the property is perfectly ok to live in when the door couldn’t be closed. WOW. Trust me, anyone looking for a letting agent deserves a better one.
Follow-up: two months fast forward, mouldy sealant still there, kitchen tap wobbly AND 7 cockroaches seen in a week. Chestertons and landlord still unable to provide a solution.

I rented a flat in Luxborough Tower with them, which has been a nightmare regarding security and maintenance since the day I moved in, even though the flat is extremely expensive (close to £5/sq feet). Chestertons had never notified us about those issues before we moved in. I have never had so many problems with a flat in my entire life.
1/ Big securities issues: Neighbour threatened us to death (I had to call the police), threatened other neighbors to death, and regularly insulted us aggressively for no reason. The police said it is well known this neighbor causes many security problems in this building, but Chestertons had never told us about those. Our parcels constantly get stolen in front of our front door (inside the building, it happened at least nine times), and again, I had to deal with the police, and I am constantly afraid something else will get stolen. I do not feel safe there even though it is supposed to be a safe, expensive area in Central London, this building is not safe, and Chestertons had never told us about it. We rent it at the price of a very secure expensive building.
2/ On top of that, this flat has been a nightmare in terms of maintenance over the last six months even though it was supposed to be renovated: (A) the bathroom broke down three times (no toilet, no shower for several days - the plumber spent several hours unblocking it and all our stuff in the bathroom was soiled, the landlord refused to compensate us for that, we lost over £300 and several hours), (B) the window was broken when we moved in (they made someone come three times for a quote, then he said he could not mend it, then again someone for a quote, etc. and every time I had to be there even though I am working full time) (C) then the kitchen shelves broke down (D) the fridge broke down, and we had to throw all our food away (again 0 compensation) (E) The elevator constantly breaks down. (F) Numerous other issues took a lot of time and money to be mended on our side.
I have never had so many issues with a flat, yet it is the most expensive flat/sq meter I have ever rented. I find the maintenance and selection very poor.

No hot water, miss sold as I was advised patio would be fixed and is in accessible due to rotten wood. I had rats and lights blown for no reason. Was told I can not use the oven and shower at the same time due to wrong boiler fixed in the property. Best of all they accused me of not paying rent when we agreed on a reduce rate due to the appalling state the apartments was in. Very unprofessional and seem to not know what they are doing.

Awesome agency! My roommate and I just found a flat to rent through Chestertons, and had a really nice experience. I had two friends who both had really bad agents (ahem...Foxtons...cough...cough), so we were careful to find nice agents. Checked on allagents.co.uk for every agent we met. Ended up with Chestertons Hyde Park & Marylebone when we found a flat in Paddington. Viewing and stuff was all good obviously. Thing to note is the extra effort they put in for us. The agent Elina was really patient when we went though several rounds of negotiations with the landlord for the price. We settled at a nice price, then had big delays due to my roommate's visa. Again she was super patient and helped us through the process of getting our documents all in place. We must have sent 50+ emails throughout the process. Just had our contract signed (checked all the legal text, all nice and fair without pitfalls). Moving in our new place in 2 days. Super happy with the results. Elina you are the best!

They carried out many viewings (Covid restrictions notwithstanding), and received a good number of offers, resulting in a final sale price that I was happy with. I dealt with Dylan and Umed, who were both persistent but professional in their negotiations with potential buyers and managed to coordinate things well. Nishaad has been fantastic. He has been a great help as he helped me to get my apartment agreement with the landlord although the landlord was keen on selling the property rather than renting it. He offered the landlord a price that would convenience him to rent and secure my rent agreement. He did a lot of work in the weekend for that and also worked on sorting a parking space agreement which is vital to me. It was a pleasure to meet him as he has also been kind enough to go the extra mile my family who came from overseas looking for a property to buy as he helped with sales enquire. Although this is not his responsibility but he to toke the lead to show my family an apartment for sale during the weekend as they had very tight schedule on their trip in here.

Justyna is agressive, goes back on promises, and keeps changing her words. She also sent agressive whatsapp texts and emails. This is our email to her director, Alina, as Justyna CCed her in an email full of untruths:
Hi Alina,
Greetings to you.
I am writing with regards to Justyna's email below.
1. Justyna did not reply to our last email (sent on Friday 27 July 2018, 1:44pm) on whether the viewings on Monday 30 July 2018 are confirmed and where to meet.
2. It is only natural that we texted on Sunday 29 July 2018 night (1045pm) as we have rescheduled several work appointments and meetings in order to make it for the appointment on the next day, yet have not had a confirmation from Justyna as of the day before. We did not expect immediate reply (as apparent in the printscreens below).
3. We were completely fine when Justyna said she'll get back to us in the morning (as apparent in the printscreens).
4. Justyna did not get back to us in the morning. And less than 2 hours before the apppointment we still have no idea on where to meet.
5. Justyna sent an unnecessary passive aggressive text that "texting at 11pm" (we did not), is "not the best way to confirm." Note again, we did not expect immediate reply as apparent in the printscreens of whatsapp texts.
6. On last Thursday and Friday (26-27 July 2018), when we were arranging the viewings via email, it was clear that it was for 2 units. She set the time for Monday 30 July, 5pm; and my partner and I made accommodations and cancelled work appointments to suit her schedule, with the expectations that the viewing is for 2 units. Additionally, on Sunday (29 July 2018) she confirmed via whatsapp that both viewings are in place- "all confirmed" (see printscreens), but in the email below (sent only on 30 July 2018, 341pm), she writes that the one in Sheldon Square is unavailable to view.
7. In the email below she complained of our "short notice" arrangements. What is true 'short notice' is that our original appointment at The Water Gardens last week was cancelled by Justyna on a 'short notice'. Hence, we spent time to look through other apartments again (late at night on a busy week no less) in a bid to get back to her asap. We were not upset at the 'short notice' cancellations, instead, spent time to look through other alternatives asap so we do not keep her hanging; and ironically she complains that this is 'short notice'; biting us back for our kindness is pure horrible character.
8. Thus, very notably, my partner and I did not "reschedul(ed) your visit from Saturday on short notice" as Justyna claimed in her email. The appointment on Saturday was cancelled on a 'short notice' as Justyna informed on a 'short notice' that The Water Gardens' unit which we were to view on Saturday is no longer available to view. My partner and I then looked at alternatives instead of being upset at this 'short notice' made by Justyna, not my partner and I.
9. Also, I have to reiterate that Justyna chose the slot on Monday 30 July, 5pm. My partner and I rescheduled work appointments to accommodate to her. We have no idea why she is complaining of a 'short notice' when she was the one who chose the time and we accommodated to her.
10. I did not say that I would be "contact(ing) social media" as stated in Justyna's email below. I did say that I will leave a Google review and contact her boss. I am sure we all know Google review is not social media; and I'm not sorry that Justyna find that informing the public of true characteristics of agents so that the public can make the right choices as something "out of tone" (quoted from her email below)- I do not think she has a place to say that I am "out of tone", seeing her aggressive whatsapp texts and emails; and of people's rights to leave accurate reviews.
Please think twice before dealing with Chestertons Hyde Park. Many better agencies out there.

Dear All, we recently purchased a property in the Hyde Park Estate through Chestertons Hyde Park ; dealing with Carlos , Dylan and Umed as well as others who worked with us.
When our negotiations for purchase became sensitive and protracted with the Seller due to title issues ; we relied on our contact with Chestertons Hyde Park Sales Director Dylan James who showed exemplary legal understanding / knowledge as well as tactical skills and established contacts with the Church Commission and Knight Frank their managing agents to get what we asked for done by means of Deed of Variation - and included prior to our exchange of contracts and purchase. Umed Sharifi senior negotiator - also relentessly paved the way with Seller's end .
There were others in the Chestertons Hyde Park office we also came across who were instrumental and very useful in securing us our purchase . The Chestertons Corporate team across different branches worked extremely well in our case - which is most valued and appreciated in securing us the purchase.

Without any reservation, I can highly recommend Carlos Riveros, Associate Director, at Chestertons Hyde Park and Marylebone, to provide a superb personal, expert and efficient service. I was looking to buy a flat in Marylebone or Fitzrovia area. I responded to a Chestertons' advert and Carlos showed me the property. Although it was not suitable, he quickly ascertained what I was really looking for, and in that same morning took me to view several other flats, all of which had pros and cons. It was at this point Carlos confidently said, I'm going to sell you a flat! The next day he showed me a flat that was perfect and I subsequently bought it. However, I wondered whether I might prefer a flat in a new development. Carlos enthusiastically showed me several, which confirmed to me that my first choice met all my requirements. After my offer was accepted, Carlos kept close contact with both solicitors to ensure the process was running smoothly, and exchange was achieved as projected. All along I felt that Carlos was my property adviser. He was determined to find the right flat for me, and demonstrated he is very knowledgeable of the area. Fantastic Honest Service. I am a landlord in London with a few years in the profession under my belt and have dealt with many an agent in the property sector. Chestertons assisted me with the letting of property nearby to their offices. Tabrez Farooq was the associate director that handled all our matters. He is absolutely exceptional. I can honestly say that I have never had a better experience and I have dealt with many agents. He has raised the bar to no end. Honest, reliable, diligent and excellent at balancing the needs of the Landlord and tenant. There were a number of factors complicating the agreement between the tenant and myself and I do not see how they could have been dealt with any better. An absolute star. I will return to him time and time again.
