I've had some good and some bad experiences throughout my 1.5-year tenancy at a flat managed by Chesterons. Unfortunately it ended pretty poorly. Despite having handed over the keys at the end of January 2024, they have yet to complete the end-of-tenancy procedures and have been extremely unresponsive to email.

incredibly impressive service, communication and offer handling from Jessica whilst on a rental search. She took the time to understand our niche requirements and with nothing else presented us with the most incredible options - unfortunately in this case we ended up finding something else but it wouldn't have been the case if it wasn't for the help of Jessica in the first instance - highly highly recommend, a big rarity to find such exacting service in such a saturated market.

I formerly gave this branch of Chesterton's 5 stars, but recently I've had the worst possible experience with their sales team. So I feel that a 1 star is justified because if this situation. They were lackluster and extremely bad at communication. When I tried to address the problem, nothing improved, if anything their performance became worse. I would never use their sales team for anything. It's chaulk and cheese compared to their lettings department.

They had an amazing agent in the lettings team in Zara that did an amzing job for 2 years sadly after she left in 2021 or so and I stayed loyal to the company and what a mistake it was! In simple terms they have a huge turnover in employees so they are completely clueless as to what needs to be done in the property, always late in following-up or responding to issues so you end up spending more time chasing them than managing the property yourself. Furthermore they always find ways to hire the worst and most expensive contractors to repair things in a way it keeps breaking up which somehow is not surprising given they earn a percentage on the repair costs so somehow they have a vested interest in inflating repair bills! In summary worst management service ever... and I haven't even started about their lettings side (They recommended once a family of 4 with only 1 salary of which the rent would eat up 40%!). Avoid at all cost. Irresponsible and amateurs! My experience has been so bad with their Lettings and Management than I will for sure never try their Sales Team!

What can I say about Charlie at Chestertons?
With his cheeky smile, charm, baby face, and star quality he looks like he's just escaped from the set of a Harry Potter movie!
But don't be fooled Charlie has enormous knowledge of his profession well beyond his years.
His enthusiasm, energy, optimism and l knowhow are limitless he also possess a Magical type of intuition, and will not take no for an answer.
I have to repeat this storey
When in a signature race with our property, the buyers legal team suddenly announced that they could not exchange contracts within the given time frame. Nor could the clients surveyor.
Charlie found a new surveyor who would be able to get the work done and signed off within 24Hrs on Thursday.
Charlie then found a new solicitor who agreed with mine at 16:00 hrs to achieve an exchange .within the evening.
By Friday 23:300 an exchange was made with Charlie at the end of the phone with all the parties. Way over and above the call off duty on a holiday weekend..
Now that's what I call magic, and it t may well be a record.
Look no further Charlie with his extremely polite and helpful team in Notting Hill delivered an Oscar winning 5 Star performance and result

If only they were all like Jessica. In my search for a place to stay in London I could not have found a better agent. Whereas other agents keep presenting you with the absolute opposite of what you've asked them for, fail to call back, or are just not interested, Jessica was on the ball from our first discussion. She took the time to explain the idiosyncrasies of the London market, carefully listened to the kind of place I was looking for, and presented me with the perfect solution, managing to jump over a few landlord hurdles along the way. As soon as we moved into our flat there has been headache after headache. Catriona was our letting agent and is fantastic but we’ve been handed off to someone else who is rude and very difficult to get in contact with. Within the first month of living in the flat the hot water and washing machine both broke and someone at Chestertons said I needed to pay to fix it (even though I’d not even used it yet). Again, Catriona is brilliant but everyone else I’m dealing with to sort this out has been a nightmare.

Sophie Cornelius from Chestertons has been a blessing these last few months.
Apart from the fact that she managed to rent all 3 of our available apartments (whilst another circa 6 agents were also instructed!) she has offered tremendous amount of help in coordinating everything. Being stuck abroad due to Covid, Sophie's help has been fundamental. I feel like she went above and beyond her duty to assist us and the tenants and ensure that everything went smoothly with the start of the tenancy (on one occassion she was texting me while she was in hospital!). On top of this, she has always been extremely polite and pleasant to talk to.

Had a fantastic experience with Chestertons Notting Hill. Julia was absolutely fantastic, we really couldn't haven gotten a nicer, more helpful person to show us around different properties. We dealt with quite a few different estate agents on our apartment hunt and none of them did a better job than Chestertons. We were moving to the UK, which made it a much more complicated process. Julia and her co-workers made the process so easy and simple and really made us feel comfortable with our move. Can't highly recommend her and her team enough. I can’t agree more with the previous comments. Iain and his team helped me with a difficult sell in this uncertain period: even though it was a small, ex-Council flat, so the reward for them was far below other properties on their books, they didn’t give up on it nor do I believe under-sell it just to get a deal through at any price. They run a tight ship - always responsive, courteous, professional.The total opposite of the negative stereotypes everyone has heard about estate agents. Shame I’m not moving into this area!

Charlie Cunningham-Reed was an estate agent like no other that I have come across in 40 years of buying and selling houses.
He was dedicated to helping us to cross the “t” s and dot the “I” s and encouraged all three sets of
solicitors to speed things up.
We exchanged contracts in three weeks and is due to complete in a month from receiving the offer.

I have previously used brands that I was more familiar with in the area so It was slightly by chance that I ended up trying Chesterton’s to sell my father’s flat. I have been unexpectedly pleased and impressed by the service. It was very professional, but far more than that, they almost instantly found a buyer in a difficult market and the other standout was the way Iain and Charlie went out of their way time and again to provide an extra level of service, often going out of their way to help my father. I very much recommend the Notting Hill office.
