Ian Barrett, Chestertons, Kensington handled the sale of our former BTL mansion flat in Kensington. Was not an easy sale with the former agent having over-priced the property, lease defects, a very picky buyer and an aggressive buyer’s solicitor. Ian took charge and got very deeply and personally involved in the transaction. Many others would have given up but Ian persevered, resurrected the deal after it had fallen through at one stage and brought it to a successful conclusion. It was all far from easy but he managed to get the deal done. We are very grateful and have no hesitation in recommending Ian.

When I decided to move to London from abroad and started to look for a rental, I felt myself lost in the middle of an ocean surrounded by sharks of big estate agents with ties or heels in black. They all perceived me as a score number with a wallet. I had to face many lies, dishonest tricks and fake compelling till I met Irina Obolevica. She was the angel sent to save me.
At the first sight, Irina really cared about my needs, my limits and my dreams. She saw me as a human being, a mum, looking for a home. Second property she showed me was a perfect match. She made everything so easy and quick even in a few hours so I could move to my home very soon. I will feel always grateful to her. This may be a good agency for landlords but it is abysmal for tenants. The team is non-responsive, dismissive of tenant concern and will try to charge you for things that break in the house. I have rented property in NYC, SF, London, Austin and LA and this is by far the worst property management company I have ever dealt with. Horrible people and horrible company. We had to move out of our home with our two small children due to mould and damp and the Chestertons team is gaslighting us with a scam “inspection” with no details saying the home is fine. It’s appalling that they would treat paying tenants this way.

Sumyee Suen is a light in the often dark world of estate agents. Moving to West London from the US in September ‘22 for a Master’s I was really afraid of what I had heard about the apartment search. I began my looking from the US, and Sumyee went above and beyond to help me despite the time difference and my limited knowledge about the housing market here. With a kind word, a friendly disposition, and a steady professionalism, she has consistently supported me from the beginning through a rather fraught relationship with my landlord, who from move-in has unfortunately been fairly difficult to work with.
When I reached back out to Sumyee recently with another landlord conflict she was immediately responsive and jumped back in to help me resolve the situation, escalating the problem to upper management when it became increasingly complicated.
Sumyee been a delight to work with and I am very grateful to her for all she has done. I feel very lucky to be one of the likely few in London to have an entirely positive experience with an agent!
Chestertons has found a real gem in Sumyee and I could not recommend her more highly!

I walked into several real estate agent offices while looking for a flat to rent and this office was by far the best experience I had. All thanks to Mark Paris! He was the kindest and most accommodating agent I met, and a genuinely personable individual. In a market where supply was extremely low, he managed to book me a viewing the same day we had chatted. In the following day, he was able to present me with several good options while all other companies failed to do so. He even called after transferring me to another Chestertons location to check in on how everything was going. I could not recommend this office more! See if you can catch Mark, he is super helpful!

As a buyer I didn't expect to receive such a wonderful service seeing as I wasn't paying their fees. However, I couldn't be further from the truth as Maria Oliveros was an absolute star from beginning to end. Always responsive, even replying to emails on her day off and like `a dog with a bone' when it came to chasing people up. She recommended solicitors and Financial Advisors who were excellent and helped close the deal so quickley. As a person too, so lovely and pleasant to deal with. If you see a property being advertised by more than one agent and one of them happens to be Chestertons, go with Chestertons, all day long and ask for Maria.

The worst estate agents we've ever had the pleasure of dealing with. We rented a flat through Chesterton early last year. Took them more than 11 months to arrange for a broken fan coil to be fixed even though we kept on calling and emailing them few times every month about the issue. Now, we've had an electrical issue in the flat for three months and it doesn't look like they will get to fixing it any more quickly! They seem to be incapable of doing anything! No matter how small!
Mid-December, as our third rent period was coming up, we informed Chesterton that we will only extend our stay if they were to fix the fan coil unit which hadn't been fixed for almost a year, they fix the electrical fault and replace our mattresses. In January we were promised that if we extended our stay, we would get everything we asked for. Finally the fan coil unit got fixed after more than 11 months. After contacting them almost every week, they finally sent us new mattresses which were delivered by 21st of February. As of today, the 13th of March, the old mattresses haven't been removed yet! Every day we are told a new story and still have two king size mattresses in our corridor blocking it. Also, earlier today, the 13th of March, the electricians informed me that more than two weeks ago they gave Chesterton their assessment and recommendation and they're still waiting for Chesterton's go ahead. Let's see how much longer this would take!
P.S. Their contractors visited our flat three times in order to fix the fan coil. The funny thing, during the first visit they informed me that they do not understand the system installed in our flat and Chesterton should get someone else to fix this. I do not understand how they decided to send the same contractor to our flat two more time. Two months apart each time! And we had to keep contacting them every week, reminding them of the fault!

We rented our new home with Irina Obolevica at Chestertons and we are really happy with how things went!
Irina understood our needs and requirements very well, and pretty much all properties she showed us were great fits! Once the letting process started Irina guided us really well and helped us navigate the complexities of London's real-estate regulation. She was also a great mediator with the landlord.
We also had a few interactions with other folks in Chestertons' office and everyone was always very friendly, professional and helpful.
Overall we felt we were in very good and experienced hands all through this journey and recommend both Chestertons and Irina to anyone looking at real-estate transactions in London!

This my second purchase through Chestertons Kensington. And for the second time, it wouldn't be possible without the help of Sai Shanmugam.
He showed me around new developments, giving his honest opinion everytime.
Once given your requirements, Sai knows how to choose the right property that suits your needs. When he calls me regarding a property i know for sure that it is something i will like. Sai was even there when the solicitors got slow and managed to close this deal professionally, not to mention that he is available all the time.

Sai is an outstanding Real Estate Agent, efficient, transparent, respectable, dedicated, serious and smart. He was able to know, from our first meeting, what exactly we want and the standard required within our budget. My experience with Sai was phenomenal. In simple words, if it was not to Sai this deal wouldn't go through.

He managed to find a solution to every problem, even when i thought this deal was never going to happen.
