I had an absolutely horrendous experience with Connells when remortgaging my property when our fixed term came to an end. The mortgage advisor, AG, was grossly negligent, embarrassingly incompetent, dishonest and, despite having 6 months to arrange our remortgage, did not do so, which led us having to move onto the variable rate of 8.74% for 3 months (£2413 p/m). I was on maternity leave on no pay during this time so one could only imagine the stress this caused. Throughout the experience, we were made false promises and false reassurances that the work would be done. AG disappeared on a few occasions and was not contactable/did not contact us for up to weeks at a time. This all accumulated with him disappearing on annual leave a few days before our fixed term ended and without notifying us and without arranging our remortgage in time. The only reason we were aware he went on annual leave is when we emailed him for an update and we were met with his out of office. At that point we had to find another contact at Connells (who did not have access to our account) but it was too late to arrange a remortgage. This was over the Christmas break and so banks were closed as were the law firms too. The contact that took over our remortgage was absolutely fantastic, but it’s a shame that he was the only decent and competent person in the organisation that did everything he could do to help. But still, due to the sheer negligence of AG, the new advisor was unable to resolve matters and we felt we had no choice but to deal with the remortgage ourselves. To date, no one else from the organisation including AGs manager has reached out to us to apologise or to resolve the matter when they were aware and admitted that AG was in the wrong. Unfortunately, it is clear that the lack of client care is a systemic issue within this branch. We made a data subject access request in order to access our records and make a complaint and the information that we discovered, including fake records of advice was horrific. I cannot say this louder - Please do not trust this branch with your remortgage. You are better off going elsewhere, or even doing it yourself!... Read more

Terrible customer service and gross negligence in dealing with our remortgage - just a series of unfortunate events that led to a failure to secure our remortgage in time, causing us to move onto the variable rate for 3 months (£2413 p/m) which could have been avoided by proper communication and transparency. Just following up on my first review (at the bottom of the page).
January 2024: I rented a 2 bedroom flat from Connells (Bletchley Branch), Dec 2021 to Dec 2023.
The process of “signing up” and moving into the property was really straightforward, and likewise when my tenancy ended I received my full deposit back (to the penny) within 5 days which was fantastic.
The various people I dealt with throughout my tenancy were polite and any queries or issues I had were dealt with fairly promptly. At one point the central heating stopped working, and within 7 days of letting Connells know, the boiler was replaced. A pretty prompt turnaround time I think!
Overall, this was my first time using an estate agency and it was a very positive experience. I would highly recommend the team at Connells Bletchley to anyone in the Milton Keynes area.

Whilst we had issues, lack of communication from the previous Branch Manager being the biggest one just left and moved to another branch without saying anything.
Daniel however from the off was great!
If it wasn't for him stepping in where I needed him to this could have gone a lot differently, his responses were rapid regardless of it being an email or phone call to keep me updated or to check something, he took on far more of the house buying process with myself than was required of him, he is a massive asset to your company and of all the estate agents that I went and looked at properties with he was the most knowledgeable, genuine and down to earth person that I had contact with.
Thank you again for your work on this Daniel I know I'm not the most easy-going of people when things don't go to plan, but you helped ease the stress where possible.... Read more

I stayed in the property for more than 4.5 years, the landlady is the best and was very supportive and helpful always. Icing on the cake is the support from Connells team, everyone right from the person (Natalie) who showed us the property to the one who is the property manager Kathleen Milne/ Roberta Lewthwaite, every one is exceptional with their service.
