Found out today that they didn't have a higher offer but the people bought it happened to use their mortgage adviser , which I refused.
And this wasn't the first time we felt they lied to us.

I can’t begin to thank enough the wonderful Connell’s Cambourne team for securing the sale of my property, the process of which has been far from easy. With an excellent marketing package, efficient coordination of the maximum amount of viewings (during extremely limited time slots due to inflexible tenants), and the excellent management of demanding buyers, the team surpassed my expectations. Each viewing was accompanied by the agent, and swiftly followed up after; I never had to worry that an opportunity had been missed. I was kept fully informed of upcoming viewings and promptly debriefed following, and had every confidence that they always tried their best to follow up and progress each enquiry. I was impressed that I always received a detailed feedback report for each viewing day; something I’ve not experienced with other agents.
I was so pleased the team was able to negotiate a sale price higher than the buyer’s first offer.
They’re an absolute pleasure to deal with and during each and every conversation I felt genuinely listened to and received wise counsel to assist me with making several sensitive decisions. They really do go above and beyond in so many ways to help secure the sale; their work ethic is on another level. A special thanks to Lauren, Robert, Jack, Monica and Lesley. Helpful at the start, although did not stick to our wishes while performing viewings of our house and as soon as things got complicated with the sale they didn't want to know.
Put pressure on to use there own conveyancer, including pre-populating them on the initial forms when signing up, and then making it an issue when we asked for them to be removed.
They piled on pressure to us when the sale almost fell through and came up with ridiculous "suggestions" on how we should proceed in order to keep the sale going through.
In essence only interested before sale agreed, then want there money as soon as possible with no real thought/regard for you/your situation.
I wouldn't use them again, I think there are much better/more reasonable agents out there.

Tried to sell us a house which had a subsidence repair done couple of months ago without disclosing it. The sale of the house had fallen through earlier with connells being the estate agent then as well, and when asked about the reason he withheld material information regarding subsidence issue. In fact structural integrity certificate was obtained after we had viewed and made the offer. We got to know about the subsidence issue only through solicitors inquiries response days before we were supposed to exchange.
Wasted 4 months and more than 1000£s on the process of valuation, searches and solicitor fees. Never came across such questionable conduct among professionals.

I couldn’t recommend Connell’s enough, they’ve been fantastic. I had my property on the market for 6 months with another agent with little or no interest, then within 8 days of it being on the market with Connells I had 3 viewings and it got sold.
Alex and Lauren have been great throughout the whole process keeping everyone informed on the progress of the sale.
I wish I had gone to them when I first put my property on the market!

Brilliant agent, Alex, Lauren & Lesley are a youthful team who are professional and are genuinely conscientious about every step of the sales process and sold our property effortlessly.
I work in the customer/ end user journey sector and the other agents are nowhere near standards of Connells.

We switched to using Connells after some very bad experiences with Malcolm's had left us very wary about estate agents in general. From the start Alex was a refreshing change as he seemed very genuine and transparent about the whole process. We were given very prompt feedback from viewings and honest appraisals about where each potential buyer stood. Lauren did most of our viewings and did a great job on gathering information on the house to furnish buyers with. We barely ever had to chase up to get information about how viewings went which was also a very nice change.
On the occasions when we did ring up or email with questions, responses were very quick and informative. At all times we felt like we were on the same page and working together to make the best possible sale of our property.
In the end, after just over 1 month with Connells, we had a few offers on the table. This was after several months of getting nowhere with Malcolm's. Alex again was very helpful and upfront about discussing these offers with us and helping us decide on the best one for us.
We have since completed on our sale (and our purchase) and have moved into our new home.
We would heartily recommend Connells as the agent of choice in the Cambourne area.

Had my house for 6 months to sell and were totally inadequate with a stream of mishaps, including putting up a sold sign during my absence when it was never even sold. I believe they were going through an office changeover of management and staff at the time and just never had any feedback even when i called they were hard pushed to return my call. Would never recommend using them at all.
