As a cash buyer, interested in purchasing a property listed by Connells, my experience was dreadful. First viewing was cancelled because of lack of staff and changed to a Friday lunchtime. When I explained I really wanted to make a decision on Friday, so would prefer an earlier slot, they were totally disinterested and unhelpful. I had a number of questions regarding the condition of the property but I never got a straight answer to any of them. In fact I got different answers depending on who I spoke to.
The young man who showed me round on Friday, was as helpful as he could be, given it was his first trip to the property and he knew nothing about it. (It was his third week as an estate agent and I would have expected another more experienced negotiator to have accompanied him.) I asked him to find out a number of things which were important to investigate prior to any offer being made. Not even a curtesy call at the end of the day from them, to let me know if they had managed to discuss with the vendor.
Frankly, I decided to offer on another property. Not because the Connells property was a major issue, but because I couldn't face dealing with such an unprofessional estate agents. The icing on the cake was receiving a voice mail from the office manager on Saturday asking for my feedback on the property. Clearly no communication between staff either.

Connells deliver!
Throughout the process of selling a house in Shaftesbury Connells have been thoroughly pragmatic, prompt, straightforward, efficient, patient and courteous. A supremely competent service, which we have greatly appreciated.
Their no-nonsense presentation, sound valuation and wise pricing advice in a buyer’s market enabled us to receive an offer within a couple of days of the property going on the market, against which they then managed to quickly secure an increase up to the price that we were seeking and which we accepted, prompting us to take the property off the market effectively within a week! Other potential buyers, who had already indicated interest, missed the opportunity. This demonstrated that the Connells team in Shaftesbury has a realistic understanding of their local property market and has a sound record in attracting buyers through the firm’s wide-ranging marketing.
Connells kept in frequent communication on progress of the sale, which together with their comprehensive package of advice notes for both sellers and buyers provided confidence in their management of the whole process.
Ours should have been a speedy, simple sales transaction, given a first-time buyer with mortgage offer, no chain and a property ready for vacant possession. It was not Connells’ fault that the buyer unnecessarily dragged his heels, and his solicitor was uncooperative. Connells calmed our considerable frustrations with great sensitivity.
The Connells experience was most refreshing.

Very pleased with Darryl Norris in particular and her team from the Shaftsbury office in general. As a Trustee of the sale of my father's property we had given the sale to a local estate agents in November and by June had no result and lots of excuses. So, we switched to a national chain using this office under Darryl with national as well as local advertising and this is what happened:-

Darryl was really helpful from start to finish. Always available on the phone or email. Only thing to not make it 5* was we were being contacted regularly instead of speaking to our sales agent who was meant to be the point of contact, which did mean we were getting regularly contacted instead of them. But the sale and purchase went through as quickly as it could so all in all pretty happy. Clearly knew the area really well so could personally recommend it to us.

Very pleased with Samantha and her team although there were times that we didn't get any feed back due to poor communication by the team and management.
We would not recommend using there conveyors as they give a very poor service and as such need a kick up the B-- huh oh well learn by your mistakes try to find a local solicitor instead.

AVOID AT ALL COST !!! BY FAR THE WORST AGENCY IVE EVER HAD THE MISFORTUNE OF DEALING WITH. WISH WE COULD LEAVE A NO STAR REVIEW.
Called in to my local shaftesbury office and the staff seem more interested in talking about personal issues/ to themselves rather than helping my wife and I. When we asked a couple of basic questions about a property they had no recollection of it!! Unfortunately the property is only advertised with this terrible outfit, so I telephoned in the following morning to hear swearing and shouting in the background!! The lady whom I spoke to had, in my opinion the personality of a door mat, no idea what she was doing, and seemed somewhat disinterested in what I was requesting. I have put a note through the door of the property we wanted to view to warn the owner to change agents !!!

Very poor service from this incompetent outfit. Waited over 3 weeks for return of deposit with endless excuses and also received 2 letters threatening legal action for non-payment of rent weeks AFTER the tenancy had ended. Admin is appalling. Would never use again.

Sam, the branch manager was so accommodating, letting us look around the property when the branch was closed for Christmas, helping us get local quotes for clearance and building repairs and being generally very flexible and cheerful throughout the process.
