I have never left a negative review in my life but for this I have to.. AVOID RENTING WITH FOXTONS AT ALL COSTS. I have been renting a property in Brixton for the past year and reported mould issues 4 months ago (20th May 2024) and to this day (27/08/2024) nothing has been done to rectify it. We have been back and fourth with property management (even crying down the phone) and they are still not letting us move out until we finish the tenancy length (2 year tenancy agreement). The flat is a basement flat and the bathroom doesn't have a window or an extractor fan which we informed foxtons was illegal to which they breezed over and OF COURSE haven't done anything about. We are now living in mould and seeking legal action to try and get out of our tenancy as Foxtons have told us on 3 occasions we have to find someone to replace it if we want to go. As you can see from the photos nobody should be living in these conditions. Every time we ring, our account manager is 'in a meeting' they take days/weeks to respond to a question. In regards to getting something fixed..we are yet to have one issue in our flat/tenancy fixed. If I could leave 0 stars, I would.... Read more

Really poor from Foxtons, was spoken to disgracefully by an agent, telling me the property needs a 2 year lease and then hounded at by the agent. Avoid these rouge agents!... Read more

My experience with Foxtons over the years has been disappointing. While I've utilized their services for buying, selling, and letting properties, their reliability and organization have steadily declined. In recent years, dealing with them has become a headache due to their lack of organization and reliability.
I am eagerly awaiting the end of the current tenancy agreements for my properties, so I can avoid further frustrations with Foxtons.... Read more

If you are working on auction, be careful if someone work with seller to get your deposit.
I worked with Ahmed Ali, on foxton side, and bidx1, so not cool. I am also using their solicitor, completely in big trouble now which they created.
be careful scammers--
1. Misrepresentation of Property: The seller or their agent may have misrepresented the property's condition, value, or ownership status to entice you to put down a deposit. This could involve false claims about the property's amenities, potential for development, or rental income.
2.Failure to Provide Legal Documentation: Deliberately withholding essential legal documents, such as title deeds, property searches, or planning permissions, needed for your mortgage application could be part of a scam to prevent you from completing the purchase or securing financing.
3.Deposit Fraud: If you suspect that the agency has intentionally misled you to secure your deposit without intending to fulfill their obligations, it could be a form of deposit fraud. This might involve promising features or benefits of the property that do not exist or fabricating urgency to push you into making a deposit.
4.Collusion between Seller and Solicitor: In some cases, there could be collusion between the seller and their solicitor to withhold vital information or documents needed for the transaction. This could be part of a larger scheme to defraud buyers or extract additional funds.... Read more

Landlords Beware.
Foxtons will charge you a large commission to manage your property, I would like to give you a flavour of what you get for this as a tenant:
We had a broken shower, this took them six months to fix. This is because they outsource it to a company that then outsources the repairs to contractors. Meaning you will never get the same person doing the job. This company kept sending different people to do work, that the previous contractor established would not be sufficient to fix the issue. When asking Foxtons for help this amounted to nothing. Foxtons are useless and completely inept, there have large teams that are ready to take your phone calls but cannot do anything as they are not 'authorised', only managers can enquire to solve issues and they will never ever be available to speak to you. So far every issue we have had has not been straight forward. It has required myself to call every day for weeks on end to try and get Foxtons to solve it, if not they will do nothing. We are dealing with an infestation now and having reported it over a month ago I decided to call to get an update on the status I was told that nothing had been done they had not even contacted pest control. It baffles me as to how Foxtons is one of the largest letting agents in London with this type of service. I have made complaints and escalated complaints which have of course been ignored in true Foxtons style.... Read more

One star. I would provide none if the option was available.
To be clear and for the avoidance of doubt, the review that follows covers this company in its entirety. This is not made in reference to any one particular group of staff employed by these people as there has been more than one poor experience at more than one of these branches. As far as the reviewer is concerned, as similar questionable tactics and behaviour have been witnessed when dealing with multiple staff in this company's employ, the selected location is appropriate for this review.
This company, who label themselves 'london's estate agent' - clearly not the case based on the sheer volume of reviews to the contrary - seem to think that the standard form/s of behaviour towards and interaction with the british public do not for whatever reason apply to them.
Having myself had to contact this group on more than one occasion only to find that selected parts of whatever information they had chosen to publish to one property platform or another - including Rightmove and OnTheMarket - was in fact either misleading or completely fabricated, I have yet to experience a single civil interaction with any of them based on the fact that all of the employees here appear to believe they can drop new information regarding their so-called 'listings' into a conversation as and when they please to.
I am a busy person as most any individual who has made it to the point in life where they have to deal with this lot would be - and i do not want to or need to have to hear about all of the additional clauses or addendums attached to the sale or rental of a london property that them or their pals have decided to suddenly reveal while i am wasting my own valuable time calling them directly, which has to be done in order to circumvent their invasive automated text messaging which is clearly designed to drum up more prospective business for their own shop.
I can honestly say that, with the exception of one other london bunch, this lot are a close second for the worst estate agents that i have thankfully never had to and will now never have to have anything more than cursory dealings with ever again.... Read more

I had an awful experience with Foxtons.
I rented a property with them for nearly 5 years, after being informed that I needed to pay £600 per month by my landlord or else move out. I agreed to move out and the process of the return of my deposit was terrible.
I was presented with deductions of nearly £450, which I didn't agree with. I presented my evidence on MY FOXTONS but their system would not process when I disagreed with the deductions. However, to my surprise their system miraculously processed when I agreed to a deduction for extra day rent.
I have emailed, called but nobody came back to me. Finally, when I threatened to make a formal complain, someone replied to me requesting I request my deposit via MY DEPOSITS.
They refused to process the refund of the part of my deposit, that wasn't in dispute and I had to provide all the evidence to initiate a dispute. Worse, 2 months down the line I still haven't received a penny.
Avoid this company ripping off tenants!... Read more

We moved out from the property by end of July and accepted the requested deduction from our deposit even we think that it is unfair.
However, after 2+ month we still couldn't get remaining deposit back. Process is extremely slow
Lastly, 4 weeks ago we have been told that we would receive deposit in 5-7 days but still could't get it.... Read more

I have known about FOXTON’S in London and what they offer before I got engaged with them. I trusted them. I had dealings with different staff - Dan, Luke, Hayden and Carlos and I have nothing negative to say about any of them but praises for their support and professionalism. Lately Charles Okwuosa came into the picture (concierge services) and he was superb, efficient and promptly delivered all I needed. Overall I’ll do business with them again when the need arises.... Property listings are matched to data from the Land Registry by our clever algorithm. Clever as it may be, it isn't always right, especially if a property was listed by multiple agents. The asking price is the original listing price, NOT the final listing price.
