Raphäel Sullit Tarry in Goldschmidt’s Hampstead office negotiated the sale of a flat in Hampstead for me. Completion has now taken place. I am very pleased with the service I received from Goldschmidt & Howland and more specifically from Nat Veiner. She is a true superstar and was on the ball from start to finish: she came back to the flat the day after I saw it to show it a second time, this time to my family; she also came back to the flat when I needed to take measurements for our move (and she even came back shortly after when I called her to tell her I had forgotten to take one measurement!); and she also came to the flat to deliver the keys outside of her normal business hours. More generally, she facilitated the process all the way and made sure all steps were followed and completed in a timely manner. Importantly, she always came back to me with answers whenever I had questions and did not disappear once the lease agreement was signed.
What a pleasant change from most real estate agents I have dealt with in the past! Thank you Nat!

I've just started a tenancy managed by G&H and they've delivered terrible service so far. They're quick and efficient at taking money but seemingly incapable of honouring the terms of the tenancy agreement or handling repairs in a timely manner.
Specifically, the flat I'm renting had several issues prior to move-in: water ingress in one of the bedrooms, a non-functioning toilet and a leaky towel rail. We'd agreed that all fixtures and fittings would be in good working order prior to move-in, and a clause to this effect was added to the tenancy agreement.
So you'd expect that G&H would identify and fix any problems before the start of the tenancy, right? Wrong! They failed to take the obvious step of properly checking the condition of the property (in spite of having several weeks to do so) and their usual excuse for slowness was "we're waiting for the contractors to get back to us". Waiting for multiple days that is. The fact that contractors have phones and can be proactively contacted didn't seem to occur to them. (Also, if the contractors *you* have hired aren't communicative, that's *your* problem to fix and not a valid excuse. If you're foolish enough to hire an unqualified newborn giraffe to fix a malfunctioning toilet, you can't very well say "oh it's not my fault, it's the baby giraffe's fault for not fixing the toilet!").
Long story short: G&H is useless and you should avoid renting a property through them if you value your sanity.
Update in view of G&H's response: nice try, but the official start of my tenancy was a week before move-in, and that's when these issues should've been fixed according to the terms of the tenancy agreement. The reason I added a margin is that I (correctly, in this case) have zero faith that letting agents will do what they claim they will and had little interest in living in a dump. I paid for the extra week so it's certainly not a get-out-of-jail-free card for you. Also, I seriously doubt that you would've actually done anything until I pushed you hard, so you've not changed my opinion that you offer a lousy service.

From the start Philip, Nibs and Alex were super efficient, discreet, professional and clearly highly skilled and knowledgeable. Once the house was on the market, I dealt solely with Nibs who was always available - answering all my texts and calls at whatever time of day. He arranged a huge amount of viewings that all ran smoothly under his care and always took into consideration my preferences for days/times. Within 2 weeks I was delighted to accept an offer in excess of the asking price which in this current economic climate I was very surprised at. Goldschmidt & Howland Hampstead is by far the most professional branch of an estate agency I have ever dealt with. I would have no hesitation in using them again and would highly recommend them to anyone looking to rent or buy in North London.
The team in Hampstead helped my partner and I secure an incredible rented property in Belsize Park.
Two people stood out to us. Firstly, we were extremely impressed with Elliot Gold's professionalism and diligence when he took us around the property. Elliot is very personable and able to build rapport and trust. He patiently answered all of our questions and clearly understood what we were hoping to achieve. In particular, he went above and beyond what might be expected of him by answering all of our questions after the viewing (whether by text or on the phone) and facilitating the close of the deal. My superb flat in NW3 was to be sold. Superb flat refer to location in NW3, nearness to public transport, popular and quiet street, location in the building and layout of the rooms.
Louisa Blundell, Senior Sales Negotiator with Goldschmidt & Howland, recognised this amazing space and understood what a wonderful home the flat had been for 27 years. In addition, that internal modernisation was needed for the flat facilities to become superb.
Louisa produced a Valuation Letter which reflected the situation. Redecoration was done by a contractor recommended by Louisa. Sales brochure was properly made and potential buyers, already in their data base, were first given the opportunity to view. The flat was sold some weeks thereafter to one of those persons for a price most acceptable for both buyer and me as seller.
The selling of a flat can be daunting at the best of times, but Louisa made it as smooth and stress-free as possible, by sorting out all potential and real problems amicable and in time. If I had another flat Louisa would be selling that one as well.
However, I do not have such an asset.
I can therefore only wholeheartedly recommend to anybody, who wish to sell a property, to let Louisa do it.

I had the worst experience with Goldschmidt as a renter, especially with the agent Eliot. The flat that they made us visit was in order and we paid a deposit and signed papers for rental. This was a big move for us as we moved from abroad. On the day of our move to London, the agent called me to explain that the tenants were refusing to move and that Goldschmidt and the landlord were cancelling the contract.
No effort to back us up or to help us what so ever. This was a very stressful time for us in part because Goldschmidt was unable to honor the contract and to help in any way and because we were left without a place to stay. Thanks again Goldschmidt. Awful experience. Stay away.

I have recently relocated to a home in Hampstead. I had an issue with leftover rubbish from the last tenants. I went into the Hampstead office and was immediately greeted by Jodie Robinson, who then proceeded to help me with my issue just as quickly. Jodie checked up with me several times and even went out of her to check if the rubbish was removed in a timely manner. I really felt like Jodie cared about resolving the problem and went the extra steps to help me! I was very impressed with Jodie’s attentiveness and the level of customer service she provided. She really went above and beyond, in my opinion!
