When first viewing houses with Howkins & Harrison, Amy was amazing - very knowledgeable about the properties we were viewing, was super accommodating and seemed to really care about us finding the right home for our needs (unlike other estate agents we experienced).
We then had a great experience with Karen who managed to hold a second viewing for us, in-day, for the property we then went on to buy.
Since having our offer accepted, Martin has been such a great support. Without him, we really don't think this purchase could have happened and are so excited we now get to move into our forever home!

Ever wondered why Estate agents have a bad reputation - we were kept waiting 3 days to be allowed to view a property, drove 15 miles for a 10.00 am viewing, at 9:55 am we received a phone call to be informed the property was SOLD, absolutely disgraceful behaviour, we feel used and abused. You should be ashamed Howkins and Harrison.

At the initial meeting Martin showed that he had a very good grip of the local market. Brochure production and viewing arrangements were all very satisfactory, as was the handling of the various offers. We have just used Howkins & Harrison in Towcester to sell the house we bought through them a few years ago. We dealt directly with Karen who was great. She came to look at the house to value it before it was ready. We talked through the improvements we planned to do and she advised on what would be a priority. Karen came back to value after the work had been done and quickly got a photographer to visit. The photos were brilliant and showed the property at it's best. We have two weeks of viewings conducted by Julian, Holly, Julie and Karen (who all visited to familiarise themselves with the property in advance) and we got a good offer from a proceedable buyer. We have gone from the offer to completion in 8 weeks. I recommend these agents as they are great at selling but more importantly, they are all genuinely nice and friendly people.
We bought our new home through Howkins & Harrison in Towcester. Kelly arranged a viewing for us at very short notice and we were first to view this great property. We were very stressed with the moving process having lost a previous property and several buyers in the last 2 years. Kelly gave us the confidence to pursue this move to our dream house. It was a very fast move which proved stressful and challenging but both Kelly and Karen were amazing and we completed the process in 4 weeks and 1 day. Kelly was always available on the phone and email to answer any queries and chase up on outstanding issues in the chain. We can't fault the customer service and the personal approach we received throughout and would definitely use them if we ever move again.

We sold our house through Howkins in Towcester and while Karen and the team are very nice, I can't recommend them at all. Our overall feeling is that if we hadn't chased up the chain (our buyer, their solicitor and their estate agent and buyer) the contracts would not have been exchanged. Whenever we called (usually a week after asking for some answers) they were always just 'picking up the phone to us'. In the end, since we pushed through the exchange we haven't heard from Howkins at all! No confirmation, no congratulations, nothing. We completed over a week ago. The only thing we've heard from Howkins is their bill which arrived before we'd even completed.

Dealt with Karen at the Towcester office. She was incredibly rude, obnoxious and gave a very poor service. We presented an offer on one of their properties, we heard nothing from her for over a week!! Chased her 3 times and eventually reached her, explained our frustrations and she was very belittling. We didn't mind if our offer wasn't accepted but at least come back to us with an update / chance to counter offer?! She was incredibly rude, speaking over me, didn't listen to anything we told her. Had to repeat our 'current situation' at least 5 times !! Would not recommend using this agency, would not trust Karen to sell your property, she lacked negotiation skills and interest ! Overall, poor communication and rude conduct.

Martin at Howkins and Harrison is fantastic. He ended up project managing the whole chain in our traumatic moving experience even though he was our vendor's agent. Our agents were useless and disappeared when it got difficult. Martin took responsibility for making contact with all parties to ensure the transactions ultimately went through successfully. We were calling him St Martin by the end! He really does care about his clients and goes the extra mile. In our view he sets the standards that other agents should aspire to.
