Horrific experience with Victoria Richards, who was incredibly rude throughout our communications. We are unsure if she even presented our offer to the sellers as she kept saying "I'm not giving the flat to you, I'm giving it to someone else", which is at best -negligence and at worst - illegal. Fraudulent behaviour - avoid.

Rarely would I recommend a letting agent, but John D. Wood — more specifically Rosie McCarthy — is such a gem. Looking for properties in London is no easy feat but Rosie made the whole process enjoyable from start to finish. She adapted to my style and timeline so effortlessly that I put my full trust in her. Joshua Mugume was extremely helpful and kind and understood well my needs when he showed me the flat that I ended up renting. He explained to me all details, answered all my questions and followed up in a very punctual way throughout the whole offering process. Rented and managed my flat for 10 years but are now embarrassingly bad - left it empty for a month in this market, Forgot to send the check out report or a cleaner for 2 weeks when the previous tenant left the place in a mess and even showed it dirty, charged me twice on a gas cert and their fees when they did rent it. I switched to an independent prop manager whos discovered loads of things to improve that JDW never even mentioned. JDW wont be renting my flat again next year.

They were (or may still be) selling the property of Alex’s brother in Berber Road, Clapham. They made us waste a lot of money and time for about 9 months from the time we were ready to exchange with one disingenuous excuse after another. So basically the new strategy that lettings agents advise and probably convince landlord to go by is:
1. List the propriety for a lower price to generate interest
2. Tell people that make offers that someone has already offered the asking price so that they can start a bidding war and drive the price up
3. Play new tenants into paying more for the actual propriety.
Very nice.
If you hear them saying that someone has already offered the asking price know that they were never looking to accept the asking price and just make you take part in their bidding war which means they are a very sleazy agency and you definitely don't want to be conned by them! Be smart.
I hope this review helps some people realize what has become of the lettings market. Shame on you letting agents.

If I could leave no stars I would! Absolutely worst agency I have ever dealt with ! They have not been answering our emails or assisting us in anyways since our landlord gave us notice to leave the flat. We would have liked to know our rights as we have paid fees to this agency or at least to reply to our emails out of common courtesy. As soon as you move in they literally ignore you completely. Don’t bother !

House-hunting in Central London is not exactly a spa break, to say the least. After months of dealing with several agents, and growing increasingly disheartened, it was positively a relief to land at John D Wood in Battersea. Antonia was absolutely outstanding from the off, in every respect, and a genuine pleasure to deal with as a person. She was incredibly attentive and intuitive to what I was looking for from a property, however specific, and from that point, only suggested properties that truly fit the bill. This alone is a stand-out trait; Antonia singles herself out from the swathes of time-wasting agents who suggest irrelevant properties and telephone incessantly. Unlike my experiences with other agencies, I never once felt pressured, or part of a sales target, and this is entirely owing to Antonia's very human approach to the task. She was even so kind as to let me see a property before she listed it - partly out of confidence that I would love it (which I instantly did), and in sensitivity to my personal circumstances. The deal was signed and sealed that afternoon - swift, painless, and incredibly efficient. I would not hesitate to recommend her, or John D Wood, as a first port of call to anyone house-hunting in London.

Frankie Dickens from John D Wood was an absolute god sent when finding my (perfect) place. I fell inlove with the place and had to have it, my partner who was moving in with me dropped out less than a week before I had to put the deposit down.
Frankie was so patient and kind when I was screaming and unsure what to do.
She helped me out of hours and I found the two perfect roomates - (a day before).
So lovely, kind and cool. Frankie made my first rental a real dream.

We viewed a property through John D Wood & Co. Lettings in battersea and we where given excellent advice on how to secure the property which was exactly what we where looking for.
Our offer was quickly accepted thanks to the hard work of the staff at the branch and we where moved in within a couple of days of putting down an offer, even though we had to change the terms of the agreement within these two days.
I would highly recommend this branch to anyone looking to rent in the area
