What a breath of fresh air from the lettings team at CHK Esher! Having moved away from another well known local agent after years, the team at CHK have restored my faith in agents who actually take their clients' interest seriously and not just their own.

I have rented from a large number of letting agents, and CHK Mountford (Esher) was, by-far, my best experience. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone. Whenever we contacted CHK we were met with friendly staff who remembered who were we, and dealt with our concerns/queries with open discussion and with a real sense of personal engagement. Through all stages of the tenancy, any queries were sorted quickly and information passed on without delay or error, and usually with a personal touch. The contractors CHK recommended were also brilliant, and did excellent work, which instilled trust. From our first viewing (with the very friendly, Harry) there was brilliant service which continued through all of our check-in/check-out logistics (managed smoothly and clearly by Catherine Harris), and even carried on after we had moved out, to tie up any loose ends. This made a time which can be a highly stressful, a lot easier. Unfortunate that we had to move out of the area so soon!

Claire at CHK Montfort Esher branch is the most professional, knowledgeable and helpful estate agent I've ever dealt with in my 20 years of property buying or renting. My mother recently sold her house in Claygate and wanted to rent in the area. We approached all the various estate agents in the general area, from Surbiton, Richmond, Kingston upon Thames and although all of them were full of smiles and promised the world, not a single one of them followed through. We received some general email circulations none of which contained the specifics we had outlined. However, when we contacted CHK Montfort Claire offered to meet us that very afternoon and gave us a tour of a marvelous property answering all questions and helping my mother with the process of getting together all the documentation and explaining everything in a simple way with great patience and care. Harry was also very helpful in getting details completed and giving us another detailed tour on inventory check in day. I recommend this team for anyone interested in properties in this area.

Buying & selling a house can be a very daunting experience & some estate agents leave people wondering what they got for the fees that they paid for. Not so with J D Wood I can honestly say I chose wisely.
From start to finish they were professional, efficient, honest all the way through they told me what to expect & I got it which to me was money well spent.
Gavin, Andrina, Carole & Linda did a fabulous job at marketing my house & getting it sold. The photos were great & the video was also a great touch.
I would obviously do your homework first as I did, having to choose from 5 Estate Agents in the end

John D Wood started to market our house in early February 2019 and we had a firm asking price offer by the end of March 2019. They also achieved a ceiling price for our road and the roads adjoining. This is no mean feat considering the housing slump and uncertainty over Brexit, and I know that a house very similar to ours being marketed close by for a similar price never sold and was eventually removed from the market (with another agency). I highly recommend the team for their customer service and laser focus on selling your property.

Okay at the basics and Andrina does a good job at viewings. 2 star as don’t come across as hungry for the sale or switched on / reading situations. New manager who started in the Summer took 2 months to call us despite saying to my husband and I twice he would call to arrange to come round. We had to switch to another agency and there is a huge difference in energy levels. Hence wouldn’t use again or recommend.

Did not return our deposit, we agreed dilapidations with landlord on 7th August but still have not received it. I am told the deposit is held "off shore" and will take another 3-5 days to clear into our bank account.
Other than that some of the staff are nice enough to deal with, but overall the agent has been completely useless in assisting us, we also know our landlord was complete dissatisfied with their performance.

Had absolutely pleasure in dealing with the manager Gavin and the whole team from CHK Mountford. He is very experienced and professional. I had some issues with the other letting agency in the area which I do not want to point out specifically but it is a big name agency. Unlike this 'big name' agency which only employs inexperience pretty girls who has little knowledge in the industry or don't care what customer service is, Gavin has been very professional from start to finish. He clearly is a very experienced agent as well a leader. I ended up renting two properties with them, one for myself and one for my family. Also a big thanks to property manager Anne who is very responsive in dealing with any issues within the property and makes sure tenants are well looked after.
