The star ratings tell the story. Good knowledge of the property in the area, accurate price expectation, polite and speedy responses to queries.
Given that the amount of work required to sell a property is not going to be proportional to the final selling price, isn't it time that agents started quoting fixed fees rather than percentages?

I sold my Muswell Hill flat through Martyn Gerrard. I was very impressed with the whole process, (both before and after agreeing the sale).
Every member of staff that I had contact with, was helpful, even more so with Umit, who kept me updated throughout, and was always very responsive when I had worries or queries. I would thoroughly recommend them, which is saying something, as I have had bad experiences with Estate agents in the past.

Had a very bad experience with Sheriaz Gulzar. He offered a viewing on a Saturday morning just to tell me 2 hours before that it'd be cancelled. I mentioned that I had a dog and he said there would probably be no issues. He then offered a second viewing. After that, I made an offer (above asking price) which wasn't responded. I called MG where I was told by someone else that they hadn't received confirmation of anything from the landlady. Sheriaz never contacted me to give me any updates on the offer. When I wrote to him 2 weeks later, he told me that it had been rejected. You'd expect someone to let you know that if you've made an offer. In addition, apparently the issue was the dog which he said there'd probably be no issues to start with. So overall, extremely bad communication and a waste of my time.

Our first time coming into a rental property, a stop gap, until we are ready to buy again. This was a big deal to us as we were relocating as well. As a whole I have found Martyn Gerrard to be a positive Company, every person i have spoken with is friendly and well mannered, no matter whom i have spoken to whether it be in head office, taking a message and passing down to the branch or to your colleagues Faisal, often Sheraz (taking my messages), Megan PA in lettings and Ginatra. This naturally stems from the top and is clearly the sign of a successful Company, a Company that is aiming to go far and i sincerely hope this will always be maintained.
Most importantly for me and my family having spoken to and registered with approx 12 other letting agents in Highgate and Muswell Hill, Anthony Whyte was one of the few, who did not react unfavourably when i informed him, that it would be necessary to name our disabled son as a tenant on the Contract. Naturally our son had to submit relevant documents and i did this on his behalf. However, being a Carer to a 29 year old person with a disability it was refreshing to see a young man such as 'Anthony, give the same professionalism and rights to a person with needs as he/one would to a person no disability!'
We are happy with our relocation, hopefully over a period of time our eldest son, as per above, will settle and it is then that we will look to purchase in this area. No doubt we would then look to use you Sales colleagues.

Martyn Gerrard helped me sell my flat in Coniston Road. Sunny who was the Agent was efficient ,polite and energetic resulting in a sale as soon as possible. Today I was walking a long way with an injured ankle to find my car. I had an appointment in Broxbourne and my phone battery had run out. I passed Martyn Gerrard and needed a charger and help to get a taxi. Anthony an agent in the Muswell Hill office. Offered to help me. He got me a drink of water , phoned a taxi and booked it for me telling the driver exactly where I was going. He even got a quote a quote for me. Then he looked on my Find My Car App and told me where my car was..Anthony is an example of the qualities that a Estate Agent needs ; Efficient; flexible, respectful and well mannered.
I will recommend Martyn Gerrard to others who are buying and selling property.

We had quite a few ups and downs during the sale and the only thing that kept me sane was knowing Jay was on the end of the phone to help sort everything out, his communication was impeccable, every promise of let me find out and get back to you was followed through quickly, emails were always replied to (often even if I emailed in the evening expecting a reply the next day I'd get one within half an hour!). G'day Muswell Hill team,
I called on Saturday midday to book a viewing of a property listed for sale by Martyn Gerrard Muswell Hill. I was told someone would call me back an hour later to book in the viewing. The person I spoke to said his name was Daniel.
No one called me back.
So I called again on the same day at 3pm. This time I got through to David. I told him I'd called earlier in the day to book in a viewing. He told me to stop calling as no one was available to book the viewing. In an unpleasant tone of voice. I could tell manners weren't David's strength - so I thanked him and hung up.

The property is 360 Alexandra Park Road, N22 7BD. I'm a 6 minute walk away, having bought my first London home last year in N22.

Just wanted to update my original review (below) to reflect the truly poor communication we've had from Chris Lambrou since we signed our lease. We have had to phone / email so many times for various updates - he repeatedly says that he will get back to us with an update by a certain time and never does. Doesn't even call back later with an update, leaves us to chase him, which is exhausting. For example, I asked him about 5 times over several weeks to share the previous tenant's details with us so we could arrange furniture transfer - he kept saying he'd do it and didn't. I eventually stopped chasing because I didn't have the energy. It got to the point where we were only put in touch with the current tenants on the day they were selling their furniture. Turns out the current tenants had also been asking for our details to be exchanged, but nothing had happened. This could have been completely avoided had Chris done his job. It's like once we signed the lease we just weren't a concern anymore - on to better money-making ventures perhaps. Honestly appalling. We are tired of chasing - it's not our responsibility and yet nothing seems to get done or communicated unless we do. We're moving in a week and told them we are going on holiday now until the day before we move in, and still haven't been put in touch with the referencing company to find out when we can get the keys - which means we don't know when we can book our moving van for. MG won't even give us the reference company's details so we can do it ourselves - believe me, I'd rather we didn't have to go through MG as a middle man, given the poor reliability and quality of service. We've now been told we'll just have to wait for an email from the referencing company in the middle of next week, while we're on holiday, days before we move in. How was this the only way forward? I'm sure you can do better MG?

I would like to share my thoughts in regards to this dishonest and unprofessional agency. We have got an offer accepted for a flat in Muswell Hill. The agent confirmed the acceptance in writing and asked for documents to instruct solicitor.
The same agent came back to me on the same day asking to raise our final offer in order to take the flat out of the market immediately.
We have then immediately agreed on an higher price (above the initial asking price) under the promise to mark the listing as sold.
A couple of days later, another agent called to inform me that our offer was no longer accepted and asked to submit again my final best offer.
After the initial disappointment, we have submitted our final offer but the agent didn't even bother to confirm if it was accepted or not. I understand this is a free market but the agent's attitude was absolutely unprofessional. To avoid at any cost.

I dealt with a really nice chap called Shuhan Ali. I guess as an estate agent, you meet all sorts and you have to juggle a lot of things on any given day.. Make decisions that have ramifications down the road. I had a look at a place that had recently been reduced in rent, so there was a bit of a bun fight. But I made my case and was totally straightforward and he recognised this and went to town on my behalf to secure the rental for me. I'd previously had the runaround, having just been victim to a rental scam. So I really needed to know I'd got this place, on the given date and that all would be as I hoped it would and the landlord wouldn't shift goalposts, as previous possibles had, etc. I'm pleased to say, it all went through as smoothly as it could have, considering I didn't even have references, due to owning a flat before. So I can certainly vouch for the process of getting in -if not for the process of getting out- but have to say, my experience was very good and I have no complaints at all with the service, or attention I received and that all happened as he said it would.

If I could give ten stars for the service I received I would gladly do so. From beginning to end the service was professional, polite, and efficient. Chris Antoniou is the absolute best. During the sale of my property he was always available to answer queries and ensure that I was well informed every step of the way . When things did not go to plan through no fault of the estate agent he was always working in the background to speed things up and solve any issues efficiently. On the odd occasion when Chris was unavailable there was always another member of staff willing to assist where possible.
A massive thank you to Chris and the team for all your hard work to reach completion for the sale of my property. It certainly could of been more stressful. We put our flat on the market towards the end of September and things were a bit slow initially but after a chat with the office - they explained that the market for my flat in my price range had slowed down considerably due to COVID and people being unsure of their job security which all made sense to me. Slowly but surely viewings filtered through and we had an offer and subsequent STC within around 5-6 weeks. We dealt mainly with Glen Lewis who is really professional and easy to talk to and most importantly very likeable. We haven’t completed yet but I would absolutely recommend Martyn Gerrard, Muswell Hill office. We chose them because they are a family run business and thought we would get a more tailored service and we weren’t disappointed.

I wanted to view a flat, first they arranged a viewing for me, then they cancelled it couple of hours before and changed it to another day.
The other day, I went for the viewing and they didn't have the keys to the flat and made us (me and couple of other families who were there for viewing) to stand on the road for more than an hour while it was raining and even the guy from the agency left and said the tenant will come and let you in. The tenant and the guy from the agency never showed up!!!!!
Now you can decide if it worth it to trust them or not!

I initially wanted to rent through CJ Delemere Estate agent as I have been dealing with them for a while.
More or less I accidentalwill start this review by saying that it was not my intention to rent a house through Martyn Gerrard.
I initially wantedly stumbled across Martyn Gerrard in Muswell Hill and I am GLAD I did. I am glad I met Anthony Whyte and his manager Andy from the Muswell Hill branch.
It was their level of service and business acumen along an unparalleled level of understanding of customer needs that led me to place an offer within 2 minutes of viewing the first property.
They kept me in the loop through out the whole process and I can only hope that martyn gerrard has a similar level of service across all their departments, but I will know more about that after I moved in.

We worked with MG to both sell our existing property and find a new property.
For the sale, we succesfully acquired an offer on our property, matching our hoped-for target price.
For the purchase, we viewed several promising looking properties including one that we bid hard on, but ultimately lost out to another bidder. We ultimately found a property being sold by another estate agent, but MG were the most consistent agent we interacted with throughout our search and we'll thoroughly recommend them to anyone who asks.
Throughout our search we were primarily helped by Glenn, with whom we had a great relationship. After the first 2 or 3 viewings during which he was getting a feel for what we were looking for, Glenn was pro-actively contacting us about properties that had come onto the market that he thought were a good fit, and he was consistently correct in those judgements.
He also talked to us about properties, in neighbouring branches, so we got the benefit of a personal understanding whilst retaining the reach of a larger 'chain' of estate agents.
Overall, we had a great time with Glenn and would personally recommend him to anyone looking for a new property.

Only good things to say about Martyn Gerrard!
We had our property on the market with another agent for over 9 months and didn’t receive any offers, so towards the end of Winter we decided to remove it from the market and try again in the spring.
We met with several different agents in Muswell Hill, some offering low selling fees, however we decided to go with Martin Gerrard as we felt they were the most informed on the area and were in agreement in valuing our property at a much higher price than other agents were proposing.
I can now confirm we made the right choice. We received an extremely good offer within 5 weeks!
If we’d have received full asking price offers from the other agents, we’d have made a lot less money after all debts and fees were paid.
Our agent Glenn, is an absolute legend. From our initial introduction when we showed him around our home to arranging viewings, he was approachable, completely professional, friendly and so helpful with every step of the way.
He worked above and beyond to make sure that our sale went through, even when there were mini dramas with solicitors and kinks in the chain. He brought it all together and made it happen effortlessly.

Very friendly getting you in, hell when you move out!
We had a great experience moving in with Martyn Gerrard - they were fast, friendly and when the landlord was delayed signing the contract they were very accommodating and let us store our belongings in their basement. The problem came with moving out. Their standard contract doesn't contain any Exit Clause, so if you try and leave early for any reason you WILL be charged. They also include a 'check-out fee', where they essentially keep your deposit hostage until you fork out. Even after all of that, it took over 3 months to get our deposit back, chasing them the whole time. A nightmare! If you're going to be renting the place for more than a year they might be worth the fuss?
tl;dr: nice getting you in, charge you to leave and taken an age to give you back your deposit.

Glenn Lewis is a fantastic person! He is empathetic & practical and is a great guide to have if you are buying or selling your home. For us it was our first home, so we were very nervous. Glenn, made us feel very comfortable and understood our requirements from day 1. He went great lengths to hunt for hidden gems for us. It took us almost 2 years to find our home!! Yes that long ... in that process, our budgets changed (thankfully for the better :). Glenn was extremely patient and literally hand-holded us through this journey. Unlike other agents, he never put any pressure on us at any stage. We made multiple visits to the same property, Glenn was always there with his signature smile! He talked through what worked & didn't work for us. He did research on each property and was able to tell us about them, which really helped us make decision. As a young family with limited budget, he helped us refine our search criteria. He even dissuaded us from some seeing some property (which I found online), if it had a noisy pub next door, etc. He never tried to hard sell, and always maintained that "it must feel right for you, after all you are going to live in it". If he is your agent, I am sure you will find your right home - whether it is through him or some other agency (in our case it was the latter) - but he definitely prepared us to successfully find our dream home. I only wish that the property was listed with MG, then Glenn would have shielded us from the second part of the journey - "buyer to owner", which was a painful experience. I usually do not write recommendations, but if not for Glenn we probably would have bought another property and regret it later, especially with the current Brexit climate. Thank you Glenn!!

Mark knows what he's doing and Glenn provided the day to day communications to keep us aware at all times. We signed up with Martyn Gerrard for our property search in Muswell Hill. We were shown a lot of properties that did not match our brief and when we did eventually offer on a property some key information was not presented to us correctly, so we ended up pulling out of the property, which resulted in us losing money on architect fees.
