Martyn Gerrard where utterly professional and succeeded in both the sale of the flat and in securing a new house for my daughter.
The person leading the effort was Declan Morgan.

Terrible service from Martyn Gerrard Estate Agents! Last year, I found a rental property through Rightmove and decided to go for it after a quick viewing. They demanded a non-refundable deposit of £500, stating that if my references didn't pass, I wouldn't get my money back. After submitting my details, they asked for more information about my rental history, which I couldn’t provide as I've lived at my current address for 10 years.
A representative named Simon informed me that my references were not acceptable to the landlord. When I asked for a partial refund of £250, they bluntly refused, claiming the property was off the market, which was not true as it remained listed online. It's clear they use this tactic to collect deposits from multiple people without ever intending to rent out the property. I highly recommend avoiding Martyn Gerrard at all costs to save yourself from a similar experience.

They had a sign put up without my permission, screwed it in damaging my fence and I have been asking them for over 2 months to remove the sign, which is still up. Just got of the phone to them and their response is "No our problem, feel free to sue us."

Shambolic and dishonest agency.
I can’t begin to describe the horrific experience we had with Martyn Gerrard Whetstone.
For the best part of 6 months this agency lied to us about the conditions of the property, Higbey Lodge. We are thankful we did not end up being conned into purchasing this property and have since completed on a stunning property with agents that were honest, helpful, and not at all misleading.
Despite our concerns being escalated, staff at all levels were a nightmare to deal with; agents, branch managers, and directors. Nobody returned calls or emails, and I was even shouted at by one member of staff - totally unprofessional.
Avoid using this agent at all costs. The lies and outrageous service of this agency is really what gives estate agents a bad name!

Huge thanks to Stewart, Declan, Martin and the rest of the team at Martyn Gerrard Whetstone. They were terrific at assessing our home and working out how to test off market and then the approach to take when we went on market.
They also took a look at the house we wanted to buy, assessed how likely we were to find that sort of house again if we didn't manage to buy it and made it a priority to secure it for us. At the same time, they were committed to ensuring we got a good price for our house. Not an easy line to walk.
They adapted to changing circumstances with good humour and efficiency, securing a viewing the day after we went off market, which resulted in an offer that made our sellers willing to wait for us.
We put our house on the market on a Saturday afternoon and had the offer we wanted by Monday afternoon.
Stewart was brilliant about following up with various parts of the chain and nailing down details of what was actually going on and making sure we got to exchange.
I'm writing this review from the lounge of my new house, and while it felt like forever when it was happening it was actually incredibly quick, commissioning the team towards the end of Feb 22, and completing in early Jun 22.

However, Ella was attentive and never showed me a property that didn't match my criteria. She was also very patient and contactable. I can't speak more highly of the team at Martyn Gerrard. They're clearly extremely professional and know their stuff, but at the same time were so warm, friendly and understanding. I spoke to Declan in the first instance who explained the process to me, while Stewart dealt with everything from there and was really flexible to work round my schedule. Had an appointment with them last Sat. Tried to get in touch to say running a bit late but agent never answered the phone. I called his mobile no answer. Office number also no answer. Noone showed up at the house to be viewed. I wasted 30 mins there and 30 mins back. 2 days later the agent simply sends a text saying oh it was my day off and I switched my phone off. No apology ! The most unprofessional experience I have had with an agent.

I wish I had listened to Stewart from the start, but had my head turned by a slightly lower fee - had I have known the difference in levels of service I would receive from both agents I would never have gone with the other agent. We unfortunately decided to instruct Hethringtons and the experience was incredibly disappointing. We wanted to change agents to Martyn Gerrard and Stewart was incredibly responsive and proactive. The process to engage with Martyn Gerrard was excellent, and their use of technology to take you through everything was clear and easy. Stewart also provided valuation letters for my mortgage within the hour, which was greatly appreciated.
Just as we were about to change to Martyn Gerrard, we received two offers for sale through Hethringtons but they handled the process terribly, yet Stewart (who was not even our agent) regularly contacted me to ask how our transaction was proceeding.
We made a big mistake not instructing Martyn Gerrard from the start and I have since recommended them. If we sell a property in the future, I would definitely want to work with them.

My selection of Martyn Gerrard (Whetstone office) as the Agents who would exclusively be selling my flat was coincidental. I walked into the office thinking it was another firm (whom I had already called and had further questions to ask). Once the office became aware of the reason for my visit, I was immediately introduced to Stewart Willerton, the sales manager, I explained what I wanted and made an appointment that afternoon for him to visit and valuate my flat.
So far that is much typical steps with all the other Estate Agents that I contacted in Whetstone, (5 in all), the meeting with Stewart and the genuine friendly and professional discussions with him about what Martyn Gerrard had to offer… was the clear difference between them and others. All it seemed the others wanted was the signature on a contract and to get that they were prepared and did say anything and promised everything from out of back pocket ready buyers with cash in hand to how hard it was to sell these days but they can do it…
I chose Martyn Gerrard despite the fact that I contacted them by accident, but I was impressed by the work ethic and professionalism of the manager, Stewart Willerton and his staff. It seemed that he has a genuine wish to help and to sell, he gave me genuine advise on valuation and in general I liked his attitude as an individual. I have not known him before I walked into Martyn Gerrard’s Whetstone office three weeks ago. But I am glad I do now. I am sure he has a great future ahead of him and I wish him, and Martyn Gerrard, good luck for future. I would not hesitate to recommend, Martyn Gerrard in general and Whetstone office and Stewart in particular, to all my friends and family.
