I am deeply disappointed with the service provided by Ocean Homes. From the outset, my attempts to contact them have been met with silence, demonstrating a shocking level of unprofessionalism.
Upon moving into the property, we discovered that the toilet was left unfixed. It leaked, creating an unbearable smell that permeated our landing carpet. Despite multiple requests for assistance, the negligence has continued, leaving us feeling completely disregarded.
I would strongly advise potential tenants to reconsider their choice in management, as Ocean Homes has shown a lack of accountability and responsiveness to serious issues.

I began the process of selling my flat with getting three different quotes. Of those, Ocean came out on top for both quote and professionalism. I initially met Matt, who talked me through the process and put me at ease about how it would move forward. Within days Matt found me buyer. From then on I had the experience of liaising with different Ocean staff, from Ollie, Mike, Cleo and Nicola on front of house, all of which are superb.
I would especially like to say, how I found most useful, being able to call and speak with Nicola, who keeps the whole process glued together. At a time when situations can become challenging and stressful, Nicola is there on the end of the phone and always reassuring. Other estate agents do not offer this level of service and is most helpful. To sum up, I found the Ocean experience a breeze and all staff extremely professional. As a result my flat was sold within five months. Thank you Ocean very much indeed.

AVOID - Throughout the tenancy they were very slow to resolve any issues with the property and they were not approachable via email. It was not until we cc’d in the relationship manager that we managed to make any progress. Now it has been 5 weeks since we’ve returned our keys and they have failed to return our deposit or provide us with information about getting our deposit back. Will have to proceed with opening a deposit dispute and filing an internal complaint.

Initial contact with sales team was really good. The only negative was that there seemed to be a glitch with the notifications and viewings took place a couple of times without my tenant being notified. There's obviously a difficult juggle between agents, buyers and sellers and the move manager did a good job balancing the two and representing both sides fairly, and always efficiently, in what wasn't the most straight forwards of sales.

I recently contacted Ocean Lettings & Management to enquire about them managing a house I own in Bristol. From the outset I found Will Jenkins to be professional, knowledgeable and, above all, really helpful in guiding me through the steps required to get my house ready for letting.
There were a lot of steps I needed to take which I wouldn’t have known about if it hadn’t been the excellent service I received from Will and his team. As soon as the house was ready for advertising Lily Butler conducted the viewings on my behalf and provided me with details of perspective tenants. They then carried out all the reference checks required which again was something I would not have been able to do alone. Alun Johnson really helped arrange for the delivery of white goods and was instrumental in helping to have a fault with the boiler fixed swiftly and with the minimum of fuss. With so much work required to make the house compliant (electrical tests, gas certificates, decorating, delivery of white goods) I would not have had everything ready if it had not been for Will and the team at Ocean Lettings & Management.
I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to rent out a property in the Bristol area and I know that my house is in good hands.

Our experience with this agent and their property has been exceedingly disappointing for several reasons:
1. The hygiene standards were appalling upon move-in; it was evident that the place had not been cleaned or tidied.
2. There were issues with the radiators, and although they promised to send someone to fix them, no one has shown up for a week.
3. The boiler is not working, and the response has been far from immediate, with an expected wait of up to two weeks.
I have never encountered such a lack of responsibility from a letting agent, and it highlights their negligence and irresponsibility.

I am extremely disappointed with this rental agency. They have shown a complete lack of responsibility. Our rented property had a malfunctioning water heater in the freezing winter, and they have done nothing to address it. Their response was simply to wait, and one week passed, no any response on our issue, which has now resulted in my boyfriend falling ill due to the cold showers. This is the worst letting company?Don’t come! Don’t come to this awful company!

I called them to book a viewing for two houses and the woman was saying that the second house is full so she took my name and suddenly she ended the call. How rude? If I don’t meet the landlord needs family, pets,etc, just say it clearly. My experience with Ocean has been the worst of any experience I’ve had with leasing agencies. We’ve had a leak from the flat above for 7 months and they’ve yet to coordinate a fix. Every time I write them an email or call them they say they’ll get right on it and no progress is made. Definitely would not recommend them to other tenants.

As you can find there are many properties chose Ocean as their agent, which means if you are looking for somewhere to live, Ocean may give you as many options as you want- which is a good thing. We got contacted by William Jenkins (Senior Lettings Negotiator in Clifton Office) once there was a ideal property and made the deal very quickly.
However, I have to say it was my first time sign a contract which I was not satisfied with each terms and conditions and there was no bargain power or options for me to negotiate as a tenant- Ocean only offers standard contracts.
It is understandable if an agent has its own scope of work but it would be more reasonable to make everything clear for both tenants and landlord regarding what exactly service I should expect from an agent rather than rushing to make the deal and transfer whole year money in 1 week (include weekend).

I'd been in contact with many other agents in Bristol since I was looking for a place to rent, but so far Ocean Clifton has given me the best experience, and this is coming out from a person who is not familiar with anything at all in the UK including house hunting process, and I have to thank William Jenkins for that. He has been very professional and patient with me since I had a problem with my phone signal during working hours so it's been difficult for us to get in touch via mobile, but William tried really hard to reach me either by email or text message during the process. And this gave me some kind of assurance that I was not left behind, and that the property I was interested in was still booked for me. Also, Ocean Clifton office is pretty easy to reach...I called and they always picked up (I'm saying this based on my experience of trying to get in touch with other companies). The staff at the office sounds very happy when I spoke to them. The tenancy process is handled in a very professional way, for example they always provide some sort of documents such as email confirmation which I really like because it makes my life easier especially during the period of flat hunting when I would have many other (house) options to keep track on. They created an online account for a tenant where I can upload the documents needed for the process.
So, to sum up William has helped me a lot in taking away the stress during the flat hunting period. Thank you for that :)
and yessss, I would strongly recommend Ocean Clifton to anyone who needs help with estate related matters especially people who are new Bristol like myself.

I have recently used Ocean Estate Agents to start renting a property in the centre of Bristol. We arrived 10 minutes early for the viewing, yet the agent was already there ahead of time and was very knowledgeable about the property. They were able to answer all of my questions in detail.
Once my application for the property was accepted there were some paperwork complications (that was solely my fault) so I contacted William Jenkins who corrected the issue in a professional manner. Without his intervention and swift action, I don't believe I would have been able to secure the tenancy.
As someone who finds moving houses / setting up rental contracts particularly stressful I could not be more grateful to work with an agency that makes my life easier. I did not think it would be possible to go from viewing to having a moving date so easily.

Joke of a company. No one ever answers the phone. They avoid answering any of the issues you have over email and promise to "get on top of it" but do nothing until you email them again. Rinse and repeat. A number of serious problems have not been fixed in 6 months. Broken glass on the stairs when we moved in. Damp, broken fireplace panel, broken curtains. Took 3 months and over 60 emails for them to finally cave in and fix a few cracked tiles. AVOID.

Unfortunately, we've had a couple of very bad customer service experiences with this Ocean branch.
On the 4th of September we had our viewing cancelled 15 minutes before it was meant to take place, Claire Ham called and said she wasn't able to make the morning booking and cancelled it.
Another more recent poor experience was on the 30th of October, I sent an email requesting for a viewing only for the email to be ignored by Iona McCabe. After sending an email chasing for an update, and after calling the office, I find out the property has already gone off the market.
I'm always a very positive person, if you look at my past reviews, most of them are 4 or 5 out of 5 stars, but these experiences have really left a sour taste.
I really hope ocean can improve their customer service.

Trying to find a nice place to rent in Bristol ourselves has been a pretty gruelling time - it would have been much quicker and easier if we'd just called Ocean in the first place!
Just when we were giving up hope we phoned Ocean, and Will Jenkins found us a lovely place at a fair price, in a great area, that hadn't even come onto the market yet. Within a week we were in the final stages of agreeing the tenancy.
I'd recommend Ocean to anyone; extremely professional and efficient, with great communication from Will and the rest of the team throughout.
If you want to save yourself weeks of desperately scrolling through the lettings sites only to be met with a series of disappointments, call Ocean instead.

Excellent service from start to finish. Dallas from Ocean helped us find our perfect home. We explained what we were looking for and our price range whilst on a viewing. The following morning Dallas excitedly called with news of what he thought was a perfect property based on our description of our needs. It turned out it was and we put an offer in straight away.
Throughout the move process Mel our move manager has been excellent; chasing up solicitors and advising us of potential surveyors whenever we needed support. Her help ensured that the house sale was complete was before the change in stamp duty and for this we are very grateful.
I could not recommend Ocean more. From start to finish the colleagues at Ocean were helpful, proactive and always offered fantastic customer service. Everything you would want from an estate agent.

Initially Molly and Annabelle were great and if I could rate them five stars I would in a second. However, once our money cleared and it was handed over to an admin team it's a pretty terrible experience. For 12 days now we have not been able to access post as there is no key. And the 'fitted washing machine' is fitted but not plumbed in and as yet not received any communications with the contractor that Ocean claims will be in touch.
Today, the issue is that the water reading 'may' have been forgotten to be noted.
Could recommend, but make sure you get everything checked and double checked before signing or paying any money. Real shame as started as a genuinely positive experience.

I had a great experience renting a flat through Ocean estate agents (Clifton). I viewed the flat through Molly Rees, who assisted me throughout the rental process. She was always very responsive, both by phone and email. As I had just moved to Bristol from Vienna (Austria), I had some unusual needs (such as being able to provide some documents in German, or to pay the first month's rent from an Austrian bank account), and both Molly and the rest of the team at Ocean estate agents helped me promptly with any questions or doubts I had. Another thing I found remarkable is that the flat I viewed in person looked just as it did in the photos and the online video (this was not the case with other listings I found online). If you are someone who has just moved to Bristol from some overseas country and are looking for a flat to rent, I would definitely recommend Molly and the Ocean estate agency team :)

Ocean allow you to register with them for updates which is great.
When we found a property advertised by ocean they were very efficient at booking a viewing (in addition to having good online video and floorplan).
The viewing (specifically Molly Rees) was really good. She allowed me plenty of time to look around the property, ask questions and was very considerate in listening to my requirements and later contacting me to say what was and wasn't possible.
Even better than that Molly placed no pressure on making me decide there and then and was really considerate to our specific situation.
She has been lovely and really easy to communicate with in order to agree terms with the landlord and start the process.
Hopefully the great service continues and look forward to finalising everything and being in a flat managed by Ocean! Thank you!

We have used a lot of estate agents while looking for somewhere to move but Ocean letting has by far been the best one in Bristol. They have kept us update throughout the whole process. We had the pleasure of working with Molly who was amazing and helped us with any issues or questions we had, she really made the experience a lot less stressful for us. If your a younger couple looking to find somewhere then i would highly recommend using Ocean as they did everything they could to help us find somewhere unlike a lot of the other estate agents in Bristol who where very dismissive of our age. I'm sure every member of staff are as amazing as molly so no matter who you get it should be a simple and stress free process.

I've just moved to Bristol from Warsaw and can absolutely recommend Ocean! Together with my girlfriend we tried to contact a lot of different estate agencies looking for help in finding and renting a flat remotely, as the distance and COVID situation weren't making things easier. Ocean was the only agency that actually helped us find a flat, instead of writing 'we suggest creating an alert at RightMove/Zoopla', and their staff had assisted us through the entire process, making it much easier for us. Many thanks to Ms. Butler, who was the first person at Ocean to speak with us, and helped us get smoothly through the initial stage of the renting procedure to secure the flat we have found.

We exchanged contracts on our sale last week and my wife and I are indebted to Ocean Estate Agents for a very professional and timely job well done. We had a sensible valuation, excellent photos, lots of viewings and an offer at the full asking price from a credible buyer within a month of going to market. From start to finish, including the work by Ocean’s own solicitors, it took just 15 weeks (and some very hard work on the part of the Ocean team). In our absence, they even watered the pot plant! What more could a seller want? Perfect, just perfect.

Annabel (lettings negociator) was very responsive, professional, friendly and was quick to translate my needs into outcomes. In 6h, we'd secured our property. I have high expectations of in-tenancy communication.
UPDATE:
I am yet to move in but throughout my contact with Oceans since securing the property, they have been unresponsive in answering queries and when the other tenant and I had been unresponsive for a couple of days for personal reasons we were threatened by the re-listing of our secured property on the market. However they were quick to acknowledge this and worked to successfully resolve this conflict.

I have worked with Ocean several times this year and can honestly say that I wouldn't go anywhere else. They are professional, friendly and, more than anything, they actually care. It doesn't matter how many questions you have, or how much guidance you need, they are happy and willing to help every step of the way. When it comes to Lettings in particular, I really recommend Annabel. As a first time landlord there was so much I needed to learn and she was fantastic. I wouldn't bother listing with these people - as a cash buyer I had a terrible experience trying to view a property. Sent multiple enquiries to make viewings on Rightmove, no one bothered to reply. Then I called up, got put on hold and eventually they hung up on me. Finally got through again and didn't seem customer focused at all and couldn't arrange viewings at suitable times. I'm a cash buyer looking for multiple properties - seems strange they wouldn't bother delivering even basic customer service.

We’re in an Ocean-managed flat now and they’ve made the experience so easy. Most reasonable holding and agency fees I’ve had in Bristol and really clear application process. Alun gave us advice when we were having issues with our previous landlord during the referencing and then came to the rescue when we were locked out five minutes before closing on a Saturday, driving over to another office for keys and then driving to our flat to let us in!

We found a property we loved on Rightmove. It was uploaded that morning, we booked a viewing for the next day, later that afternoon they rang and said the property had gone and a offer accepted. We asked if we could place a higher offer and they said someone had come to view it a week earlier. When we asked how that could be possible they advised us that a friend of the landlord had view it a week ago and put in an offer but by law they had to upload the property onto Rightmove. Beating the system!

My friend and I are currently renting a flat through the agency and our initial move in procedure was quite smooth, pretty great to be honest. However, a week into our lease we realised that that would be the last of it.
It started with us being notified on the day of our move in that cleaners found a leak in one of the bathrooms which would be fixed within the next two to three days. After a week, when we contacted the agency, they said there was a mistake and that was a previous leak which had been dealt with. Despite numerous emails and calls, our case manager kept on insisting that the leak was dealt with, even after we sent video evidence of it still being there. Finally, a contractor was sent to the apartment, weeks after us pestering them for one, and that too only after our neighbors downstairs complained that water was seeping from our bathroom floor to their ceiling. The leak was finally fixed and we were then told that the bathroom was not to be used and the WC and flooring was to be replaced, which would be a one day job. We didn't expect that 1.5 months after being told this, our bathroom would still not be usable, so we have essentially been paying extra for a bathroom we haven't been able to use for a total of 3 months.
When we call our case manager, our calls are seldom answered, and when they are we are cut off constantly while speaking and our complaints are brushed off with "we are working on it". When we send emails to enquire about the case, the only response we usually get back is that someone will be in touch with us or that we will get an update. When we say that the lack of a second bathroom makes living in the apartment difficult for us, instead of apologising and working harder to fix the issue, our case manager has "reminded" us that we have "a second fully functional bathroom".
We have heard a lot of roundabout statements about he issue, where sometimes we are told that someone will be coming to fix the bathroom and will be in touch for access, which has then turned to "it's taking time because the landlord needs to come to an agreement with the contractor". The story keeps changing and we know that at this point we are being stalled.
It is extremely disappointing and frustrating to live in such a lovely apartment with such terrible management. I don't know if this is how the rest of the company functions as well, and reviews seem to say otherwise, but this has been our nightmarish experience so far.

Hidden costs at every turn, consistent incompetence and no communication (unless it's in their interest – then they're incredibly efficient). The staff don't seem to care too much about the client and make their lives more difficult. They made a big fuss of having both me and my gf turn up at their office to show our IDs (which was NOT a problem with other agencies). The checkout email I received stated that had I not been present at the flat's checkout, I would've had to pay quite an amount to re-schedule it, so I was there on time. However, they agency person was late by a mere... 53 minutes! Also inquired about some of their flats a couple of times through rightmove.co.uk but they didn't bother answering.

i had a viewing on Tuesday i had driven down to Bristol from London the person i spoke to said viewing time 4:40 at 4:25 i called to confirm the person i spoke to said yes there should be someone there i get there no one i called they apologised and booked me in for the next day at 2;30 , i drove back from london this morning i got there at 2:20 i called and they said they had called me and sent me a text saying the place had been taking which is not true as I'm always on my phone and i got nothing. this is totally unfair to me. no apology would take back the time i wasted from London down to bristol and also my fuel money !!

We recently bought our first house so were a little inexperienced - luckily for us we picked Luigi at Ocean to arrange our mortgage. Both he and his team have been fantastic. Luigi is very quick to respond to emails and jumps on tasks almost instantly (even if he's supposed to be on holiday!).
Our first house purchase was fraught with difficulties (none of which were caused by Ocean Mortgages!). Luigi was patient and worked really hard to get things done as soon as he possibly could to help speed along our purchase. We really appreciated his help and recommend him to anyone we talk to.

Luigi in Ocean's Bishopston office (Gloucester Road at Sommerville) handled my mortgage. (I bought a place sold by Ocean, so they suggested him.)
I got a couple quotes elsewhere (from my bank and an independent mortgage advisor), and did some searching myself on the web too. Through some comparison shopping on the web, I did independently come up with the product that Luigi recommended to me... but that was better than what the other two guys suggested. AND (paid by a commission from the lender, not me) he then walked me through the application, etc., and throughout the process he was clear, professional, and friendly.
He also went above and beyond in helping to resolve a problem that came up later in the process.
In sum, highly recommended.
