If you are planning on selling your home, please do yourself a favour and look elsewhere.
When we bought our first property with them we had to wait outside in the winter rain for more than 30 minutes to collect our keys while their only member of staff sat talking on the phone. She made eye contact with us. She knew we were there. She chose to ignore us.
We attempted to purchase our second house earlier this year and the estate agent brought the wrong keys to the viewing. We had to reschedule the viewing as we couldn't get inside the property.
Later this year, we had our offer accepted on a property. We made very clear of our deadlines to the staff (verbally and in writing) as well as buyers. They verbally agreed to our deadlines only for their promises to turn out to be false and they had lied to or faces.
They do not respond to emails nor voicemails (on many occasions their voicemail system is full). Talking to them in person is like getting blood from a stone. And when you finally do speak to them you are often met with 'I don't knows' as nobody has updated the information on the shared system. They will ignore phonecalls from specific phones (made clear when I was ignored 10+ times only for my husband to be answered immediately from his phone). We even went as far as to ask our estate agents to physically go to their location, only for them to tell us that there was nobody manning their store and the lights were off in the middle of the day.
When we finally had enough with the lies and poor communication, we sent an email withdrawing our offer, only for that to go ignored as well and the house to be put back on the market. I didn't expect anything else but it was still disappointing to see such unprofessionalism. A quick email confirmation takes two minutes.
Please consider any other estate agents before Reeds rains. I have been disappointed too many times by them now to ever look into purchasing another home from them. Maybe they are good to their seller, but from the buyer's perspective I have never been treated so poorly by a business.

Recently sold my house with Reeds Rains Selby and from the first contact with the Branch to Chris Moffat coming to see me I knew I was in safe hands. Chris was both professional and personable from our initial meeting right through to getting the sale finalised. All viewings where carried out by Chris and his team and I had no issues leaving keys to my property with them due to travelling abroad. Communication was great at all times and when the nail bitting moment came to negotiating the sale price Chris was with me every step of the way ensuring the best price possible was achieved and reassuring me that my decision making regards offers on the table was the right choice for my circumstances. These people are amazing. Cannot recommend them enough. On our behalf they work through the most difficult circumstances in order to sell our property. Our tenant refused viewing then refused to move out at the end of his section 21 eventually making it necessary to obtain an eviction notice. As a letting agency, this company are incompetent. I want to warn all tenants not to use them. I rented a property in Selby Gowthorpe Yo84ha in November 2021 for 6 months, l had to pay in advanced £5020 for a deposit and six months rent. I moved out on 11 May 2022, l have requested my deposit back and They advised me to contact a different department as they said they have passed the rental termination to them, (when l paid and signed a contract in their branch in Selby). I need my money it has been two months since l moved. I have phoned the department multiple times and all what they say is that they have sent an email to the landlord asking to realise the deposit and they are waiting for her response. As they need her authorisation to realise the deposite. I have been to the property and it is occupied, l have spoke to the tenants. I wonder how the landlord could get in touch with Reeds Rain Agent to rent the property and not to respond my request? I have email the Estate Agent again and nobody has responded. It is very frustrating and disappointing: Who can help me with this matter ????

Me and my partner are first time renters, we looked at moving into the Selby area as we had found a property that we liked the look of, initially my partner attended the viewings and started the process as due to occupational commitments I wasn't available straight away. Having got the ball rolling and starting the process, we didn't really hear much off the estate agent we were dealing with, and when we did it was either very little or no information, eventually the time come round where we could collect the keys to the property, however, it was only until last minute when we were able to actually go and collect them, we had initially been told we could collect the keys anytime after 1pm on the Friday, which was perfectly fine with us; although the one thing we didn't expect was to be collecting the keys 15 minutes after their listed closing time; now we both understand the difficulties that can be entailed when starting a new rent or purchase of a property but to send a 40 page document over that is to be read and signed for and sent-back all before 17:30 on the Friday was a bit of a rushed process considering first contact was made at around 16:30-16:45 by the estate agent. Further to this we had a few little issues with the property which we had only been informed about once we had moved in, small things like the gas system not being serviced regularly or even a history of any service also any repairs which were required seemed to have been neglected; which as you can imagine for any new property owner can be quite concerning. In the end we have found it easier to have less contact with the estate agent as they didn't seem to be interested in dealing with our queries or issues regarding the property, never mind contacting us to inform us they had contractors booked in to complete some minor works. In the bigger picture the team at Reeds Rains Selby branch are a friendly bunch, but certain members of the team we feel were less helpful than others (in our own opinion) There will most likely be new home owners/renters out there who feel differently but in our personal experience we found the customer service to be bit below standard considering they did not seem avidly interested in our queries.

Chris and the team where fantastic.
They went above and beyond to help me as I work away.
The property was photographed on the Monday. It went live on the Wednesday and had sold by the following Monday.
They kept me informed what was happening throughout.
Rachel was a superstar when I asked her to do something she would action it and call me back to update me and understood that I worked nights so she would try and liase with me when it was convenient for me.

Having decided to sell my property, there was a number of estate agents to choose from to act as my agent.
A number of sales managers from other estate agents visited the property, but I was so impressed with Chris's enthusiasm, knowledge of the market and strategy which set reeds rains apart from the others.
The strategy enabled me to sell the property for above market value. Following the sale Chris and his team have kept me informed and upto date. I cannot fault.

Every member of staff is fantastic and offers a personal touch in helping sell our home.
Our bespoke requirements are a challenge but to them it didn't matter, they just wanted to provide top notch service and that they did.
Don't be tempted to go with cheap online alternatives, there's a reason we stayed local.
We wouldn't hesitate in using Reeds Rains in the future and we shall recommend to others too.

Poor communication, Agent didn't show for my appointment 2nd viewing.
I had booked time off work to attend, I arrived at property and waited 30 mins for no one to show.
Called office to be told property had sold that morning had no missed calls, emails or text from the office to inform me the appointment was cancelled or there was another offer being submitted.
Requested a call back from the Manager to discuss, have been waiting a week and still not had a call or a response from the branch.
I would never use this Estate Agency again.

Our house sale fell through twice, once due to the buyers chain pulling out & the second time due to an idiot who pulled out of the deal just prior to swapping contracts.
Lynda Sykes was dealing with us & she managed to get us another buyer within an hour !!!!. Amazing
Lynda kept us up to date at every stage & even emailed or called to see if everything was ok with us as she knew we were very apprehensive due to past experiences.
