Nick and John are excellent agents in Surbiton. Their team responded within a few minutes of my online valuation enquiry to come and value my property, were so knowledgeable on site, friendly, and supportive. It's rare to have the agency owners come out to view and value a property themselves, and the difference is clear.
I felt comfortable asking questions, with no hard sales pitch. A very elegant and professional service. Exactly what one would expect from an independently run agency.
I say this from the perspective of hundreds of purchases as an investor and developer. Seymours, from my experience, genuinely a cut above and I couldn’t recommend them enough.

Update: after my positive experience buying a property, I used Seymours as my letting agent. Once locked into the contract, the service was not great. Inspections were late, or didn’t happen, and although it was the tenants responsibility, they overlooked reporting on the front garden and it was totally out of control & the wooden windowsill rotted over 10-months. They then tried to force me over the next weeks and months to continue to pay them thousands of pounds for a tenant they placed in the flat 3-4 years prior even after the contract expired and I gave them 3-4 months of prior notice that I would not renew with them. They tried to double charge me even though I had already paid to place the tenant. They made up a lot of nonsense about ways I owed them money and made me feel cornered and intimidated. I have experience with contracts so I pointed out that the nonsense they came up with wasn’t in the contract so they couldn’t enforce any of it, but someone else might have fallen for their trickery. Never again. Soooo disappointing.
Have found Seymours to be incredibly responsive & helpful during the buying process. They went above and beyond to accommodate family viewings during the buying process, ensured the sale went through at speed, and sourced answers to questions at speed. Thanks to Sam & John & Felix - highly recommend!

Yikes, not happy with a company not complying with all of the estate agent regulations, according to HMRC.
Massive fine for not complying.
Haven't used them, but while looking around the Surbiton area, and researching who to use, I'd advise everyone to do the same.

This time we made the mistake of listing this property initially through our letting agent who did not know the Surbiton market at all well, nor have a large list of potential buyers. Seymours were outstanding from start to finish for the recent sale of my 2 bed flat on one of Surbiton's River roads. They took the time to understand the unique selling points, they use only trusted professional photographers (lots of estate agents don't!), and they have a great sales team that encourage prospective buyers to envisage themselves living there. I had 7 viewings in week 1 and received 4 offers, with the property ultimately selling for over asking price when it was already listed at a slightly higher price than any other agent had recommended. OK some of that was market conditions, but a lot was down to Seymours. After the offer was accepted, Sam was outstanding at ensuring sales progression kept moving (never underestimate the value of an agent in this!). When simple queries could be solved with a quick phone call, it is the agent that gets the swiftest response, whilst the solicitor route can often be painfully slow. Sam was always contactable and responsive, and really ensured there was minimal stress for me in this process, despite the long time frame due to being in a chain. I have friends who used other (more costly) agents in Surbiton who did not get this level of service. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Seymours or to use them again.

Reliable and efficient lettings service with Shaana and Sam at agency in Surbiton, great communication with landlords, would recommend it.
LATER UPDATE: I was then passed from one agent to another, so it became difficult to "track" who to talk to for stuff, as it was always someone else's responsibility. Then, all of a sudden, I was being chased for the renewal even though I told them I was on my honeymoon and it was still two months ahead, which is something that really bothered me.
Finally, when it was time for us to move, they insisted to charge us money: lucky enough the owners agreed we left the flat in a better condition than it was. All considered, I must sadly say that it was the worst experience with a flat agency in South London.

My husband and I had the pleasure of being looked after by the wonderful team at Seymours when we sold our property in Surbiton last year. From the initial point of contact through to the day of completion we were throughly impressed, in fact they far surpassed our expectations. Nick, one of the partners was our initial point of contact, he understood our priority was make a quick sale and to keep the number of viewings to a minimum, we accepted an offer of the full asking price after just 2 afternoons of viewings! He was charming, professional and instilled confidence in us from the off. Once we accepted the offer we were looked after by Sam who dealt with all our needs, and kept everything moving in the right direction!

We have known John Flynn for many years and he really is “Mr Surbiton”!! He and his team are specialists in selling and letting properties in Surbiton and Thames Ditton. Their manner is totally different and they take a holistic view. You never feel like you’re just a number.
Our house was a tricky one to sell, and we had been unsuccessful with another mainstream agent. Within a week of Seymours taking on our house we had our first offer.

We've viewed a few properties with Chris from Seymours in the past month and have had such a brilliant experience with him from the first call to meeting in person - I felt compelled to write a review as he's one of the only agents we've had (out of many in Surrey) who has been so helpful and great!
For example: I explained on the phone what we were looking for and very soon after, Chris showed us three properties in one afternoon, *all* of which we could see ourselves living in! The house hunt has been rife with having long calls re: criteria but then being sent listings or taken to viewings for places out of our budget or with not enough bedrooms etc, so that fact that he'd clearly listened to what we wanted and booked properties that were practically perfect for us was so refreshing, it felt like he really respected our time and had done his homework on what we wanted. Plus he was very knowledgeable on the properties when we were at viewings also, immediately knowing the answers to all of our questions etc.
Chris has always been quick to follow up on viewings without being pushy - we've really gotten the feeling that he wants what's best for us and strikes a lovely balance of professional and friendly, we felt so at ease with him and would really recommend :)

We bought our new house through Seymours in the middle of the pandemic. The brochure and website info was informative , they turned up to our viewings promptly, dealt with any questions we had quickly and negotiated a price between us and our vendor in a fair and professional manner until everyone was happy. It went so smoothly.
The real work (and value) started afterwards! Jenny of Seymours helped take charge of an extremely difficult and long chain we were caught up in which was mainly slowed down by our buyer and our buyers-buyer right up to the last minute, and also being pressurised by the then March 2021 stamp duty deadline. (We exchanged on Thursday and moved on the Friday - that's how tight it got). Honestly, I will never query an estate agents commission ever again! It was a bargain is exchange for the work performed. Between Jenny and my own estate agent they formed a tag team of part personal therapist, part dealer doer, working up and down the chain to keep everyone updated daily and more importantly, kept everything moving. I'd consider myself a fairly resilient type, this is certainly not my first house purchase but I had a lot of private moments where I just wanted to call it quits and walk away. Thankfully, Jenny just kept it going and I am now happily sitting in my dream home with everything our family was looking for. in a home Thank you so much Jenny.

The first house we bought was represented by John at Seymours and it could not have been a better experience. He was reliable, amazing communication from beginning to end, very straightforward so it never felt like we were having to play games. The pure competence he displayed made me so happy. Our house had some legal complications and if it wasn't for his constant updates and follow ups on all fronts I don't think our papers would've gotten processed in the time that it did and we might've had to pull out, so let's just say he saved the whole deal. If I am in need of an agent in the future he will be my first choice for sure!! Who knew one could feel so strongly about an estate agent?? Not me until now.

Great experience with Seymour’s letting agency. We had Charlie B as our estate agent who we were able to make fast appointment to see the property we had in mind. We then really loved the place and Charlie went above and beyond to help us get the flat we really wanted. Seymour’s seemed to have a close relationship with the landlord, which was helpful too. The transition from seeing the flat, putting our offer down and being accepted was quick and easy.
No extra costs to use the agency too which is a big help for us as this is the first time we’ve rented.
Easy to get hold of Charlie and keep in contact with throughout the process.

Seymours in Surbiton were recommended to us by a friend and we would definitely advise anyone we know to use them. Friendly and professional, out of 4 estate agents we initially met with, John and Nick were the most willing to give a realistic valuation rather than an inflated one.
Our estate agent Craig was simply brilliant. He pinpointed which of his network of clients would be most interested in buying our flat, and found a buyer for us twice within a few days (the first one fell through as we had to pull out of our purchase) and the second buyer was gained at the same price point in a falling market.
We then had a difficult chain to contend with, but Craig was great at giving us advice, keeping us informed, dealing with the other estate agents & solicitors in the chain and generally helping to ease the stress, and always with a smile on his face! So pleased we went with them, we would definitely use them again.
