Avoid selling your property with Winkworth. We had a 'buyer" confirmed. No updates for 6 weeks only to find out the buyer hadn't secured their mortgage. General lack of updates through the process and constant chasing thereafter. Much better off going with KKH. Also, notice most of the 5 star reviews are from people with less than 5 reviews...

You wouldn't normally find my writing 5 star reviews about estate agents, but Winkworth Beckenham have been all-round excellent. Sorted out a great rental for us at short notice, then helped us find a house to buy on the same street, and even arranged the mortgage broker and solicitors for us - getting us great deals on everything. They are very professional, relaxed and stress-free agents compared to many others in London. Can highly recommend them both as a tenant and a buyer.

Sophie Boath at Winkworth in Beckenham helped us sell our flat and she was absolutely fantastic. For a number of unfortunate reasons we had a difficult sale which spanned 16 months and 3 buyers. Sophie never once lost interest or energy in the sale. She was excellent at communicating via telephone, text and e-mail. She would never back away from doing the difficult jobs and secured us the best price for the sale that I think we could have got. The estate agent brought someone along to the viewing. This person was very rude to me on the street outside the property as I pulled up to the viewing. It was a surprise to find out they were the ones doing the viewing! When she realised who I was, she didn’t even apologise for her rude behaviour on the street either. Very unprofessional and put me off any business with them. A shame for the landlord.

The initial valuation and marketing price was a little too optimistic when honestly considering the comparisons with other similar houses that had been sold recently. I’ve moved 15 times and Winkworth (especially Aaron) have been the best agent experience ever and by a very long way.
Very honest, took their advice on price and marketing and was stunned by how quickly (even with Covid restrictions) they managed to get 27 viewings which resulted in 7 offers - and sold significantly above asking price.
(Their recommended solicitor also happened to be most efficient ever!)

Poor knowledge of the market. They were not thorough enough with valuation and failed to discover that a flat was on the market at a much lower price. I had to bring this to their attention! Also they were slow and not proactive enough. I had to look at market and call them to reduce the price. After a wasted 10 weeks contract with them no sale and we are now approaching Xmas where it slows .I truly believe we could have sold in September had we gone with another agent. Don't bother to try and sell with winkworth.

Winkworth have been managing our let property for 9 months now, and they have been nothing but first rate. As landlords who live abroad it was extremely important for us to have an estate agent that looks after our property. They have been professional throughout, invoices and rental income are sent on the due date and never late. We have had some property issues (no fault of Winkworth) and Laura has always been extremely efficient with forwarding on emails and even helping search for a fridge freezer on the internet when our one was broken, we even get to contact her when she works from home, making the point of contact for us, personal and consistent. Whilst they charge 1-2% less for the management fee, this is not a compromise on their standards. I`m sure we`ll be using Winkworth for many years to come.

They are helpful and pro active and communication is excellent, keeping everyone up to date . They listened to our requirements and found the appropriate clients to fit them. Awful experience selling our home, took 2 weeks and 3 phone calls to put our house on their website and rightmove, managed 2 viewings in a month and when we tried a few "secret shopper" drop ins from friends they never mentioned our property despite specifically being asked for the same type of house. We had found a property elsewhere and when the agent there rang them she was given the impression we weren't taking their advice and were unlikely to sell which lost us the house we liked. We've just been through a rather complicated exchange of contracts, but have finally secured our next family home thanks to Gina Cullen from Winkworth Beckenham. We've really felt that Gina has been on our side since day one - not just through the regular things that you expect from your agent, managing viewings and negotiating on price - but particularly through a very fraught moment when we had to go back on the market and throughout the final weeks when the chain looked as though it might collapse in the final stages. Gina was calm, completely abreast of the situation and the agent in the chain who made it her business to know about all the other transactions and needs of the various parties up and down the whole chain. We really cannot fault her professionalism, negotiation skills, calm manner and empathy with us. We recommend her and Winkworth Beckenham very highly indeed.
