I am disappointed with the professionalism and care from Newton Fallowell for a few reasons. I am a first time landlord and wanted to rent out my property short term. Initially, the service was great, friendly and helpful. The sales team discussed renting and sold me a package that would ensure the agents would look after my property throughout the tenancy. Once the tenancy started, I received a few payments late which needed chasing up by me. These late payments were due to processing in the office and not through late payments by the tenant. In speaking to other people that let properties through Newton Fallowell - this seemed to be a common issue. However, the biggest disappointment was when the tenant moved out. I was informed an inventory was due to be taken place but I was not informed of the results until I contacted the office the next day. In the interim, I went to check on the property and noticed several breaches of contract; the kitchen had been painted dark grey, there was mixed waste left in the recycling bins, the property smelt strongly of smoke and the property wasn’t particularly clean. I was incredibly upset that my property hadn’t been taken care of, so contacted the office to check these things had been picked up on the inventory. From here onwards, Newton Fallowell lettings were unprofessional, defensive and unhelpful. Despite the breaches of contract stated above, the tenant received all their deposit back. I was promised that the rubbish would be removed from the property, however, it is still yet to be collected. I would not recommend letting your property through Newton Fallowell if you want your rent paid on time and your property left subject to contract at the end of the tenancy agreement.
