14th Mar 2024 (6 mo. ago)Lack of communication and not pro-active as I had to instigate them doing anything. Pricing is terrible everything is an extra add on with vat on everything. Too expensive for lack of contact and or proactivity.
8th Aug 2024 (6 weeks ago)Really poor. No customer service at all. We arranged to view a rental property. 2 days later the property shows ‘let agreed’. Yes the market is really busy at the moment but it doesn’t mean you should treat people like this. No one rang us back or explained why this was. Total waste of our time.

Initial phone call with Helena was a little disconcerting as she appeared to lack interests and enthusiasm, however we were on a short timescale and asked Helena to place a bid on a house we were wanting to buy. The offer date came and went, and we heard nothing. We emailed Helena to see if there was an update, but we got no response. Finally we called the estate agent and they informed us our bid was unsuccessful and she had notified Helena three weeks ago. Very disappointed with the service and will be going else where for any future business.
29th Nov 2020 (3 years ago)We reviewed a number of local Estate Agents before selectin Galbraith to market our property in Dumfries & Galloway. We weren't disappointed. Quality photos and a video were produced, and our property particulars were well written then edited to our exact requirements. Communication was superb and our Galbraith contact liaised directly with our Solicitor. As a result of the quality presentation we sold successfully, at above Home Report value, within a few days in a difficult market. Highly recommended!

28th Feb 2024 (6 mo. ago)Communication with Hunters was almost impossible, we could never get through to them on the telephone. Calls were never returned when messages were left and when we did get through to them, they were surely in their attitude. No suggestions were made as to what actions could be taken to get the property sold. In the end we got rid of them.

They only contacted you to give feedback, arrange viewing which were not many or to discuss reducing price. No other options apart from price reductions were offered and felt this wasn’t pro active enough. Very disappointed.

The Rockcliffe Suite, The Old Exchange, Castle Douglas, DG7 1TJ(204 reviews)30th May 2024 (16 weeks ago)Unfortunately, this is the third Historic Scotland site I have visited in Dumfries within 4 days that has been closed, with the same signs and no hint of when it might reopen. It's a nice walk across the nature reserve to see the castle from a distance but ultimately it's currently a walk with a view of a castle. It's a shame you can't even go on the boat and walk around the outside, even if you can't go inside.
18th Mar 2024 (6 mo. ago)DO NOT SELL YOUR BUSINESS THROUGH THIS COMPANY! READ THE SMALL PRINT This company are extremely aggressive and unprofessional. We advertised a business with them, paid an huge fee to advertise. Later after terminating, we agreed investment (not even a sale) from an investor we met directly, who was never introduced by Hilton Smythe. After accepting investment after terminating with Hilton Smythe they demanded their commission!! Totally unreasonable given it was after termination and the person who invested in our business was never known to or introduced by Hilton Smythe! They are now behaving aggressively and threatening legal action. We in turn have reported them to the ombudsman and trading standards. They are snake oil salesmen. DO NOT DEAL!

It cannot be understated how thorough, helpful and professional the surveyor, Paul, was, as well as the staff who provided the quote and booking.

They never failed to keep in touch and update us along the way. This is a team that goes the extra mile for their clients. We would highly recommend these agents to anyone who wants results. 5th Jul 2024 (11 weeks ago)BE VERY CAREFUL!!! Once these lot have your deposit they ignore you. We agreed to buy a buy to let from these and went through the mortgage application with our own agent. We then found out they had overvalued thr property by a fair amount, not allowing us to get a mortgage. We were then told we had to use their mortgage person, which cost us another £300 but we had no option. They also could not get us a mortgage because the value was less than 50k. Upon telling these lot, they are now ignoring our calls, you can't speak to the refund team as only on email, no managers have phones and they won't give us our deposit back even though it states we are entitled to it back for following their stipulations. I'm no being ignored by the salesman Jack and no one will return emails etc. I will be taking this to the Ombudsman too, to highlight this appalling service and blatant overvalued to gain mortgage applicants. They had the same listing on their site for £52,500 and £46,000. We found this after we had agreed a price. So be very careful not to deal with these people. They are rude and have total lack of customer service once they have your deposit. Zero stars from me!!!
