31st May 2024 (2 years ago)We used GAP estate agent to sell our property. All the staff were friendly and excellent in their communication with us. Every query or matter was dealt with promptly. A special thanks to Laura and Jan who we mainly dealt with. Laura certainly went that extra mile to help wherever she could. We were also recommended a local couple for conducting viewings and they were excellent. Overall a very good experience and we would recommend GAP. Thank you.
30th Mar 2026 (17 weeks ago)Peter Murray made an illegal will for my uncle, Sir Michael Maxwell Bt, in 2013, who was in the depths of frontal lobe dementia (this was against medical and legal advice). They were the sole executor and sole witness to this will. Micheal had been sectioned and told he could not make a will in England prior to this. They hid a relevant doctor’s letter which was only extracted by lawyers. The firm has refused to admit liability despite overwhelming and unequivocal evidence and caused huge headache a heartache for our family over the past 5 years and huge legal costs. They are unprofessional and to be avoided at all costs. They have also stopped family staying at our family home - Monreith- and prevented my mother’s burial there. It is disgusting. The contents of the will are inconceivable to all family and destroy our family’s 800 year history in Dumfries and Galloway.

From our very first viewing to completion, Gil was consistently welcoming, patient, and incredibly supportive. She always gave us a listening ear, answered every question with care, and made what could have been a stressful process feel smooth and reassuring. Her professionalism was matched by her kindness, and we always felt like we were in safe hands. 15th Jan 2026 (6 mo. ago)I genuinely enjoyed working as a Trainee Surveyor and learning from two experienced professionals who were supportive and knowledgeable. Unfortunately, my experience in the property office was very different. The person running the office was inexperienced, insecure, and lacking in confidence. They created a toxic environment, being two faced, patronising, and often blaming new starters, claiming mistakes were their fault, even when communication was poor, organisation was lacking, and errors were frequent. New starters were often targeted for mistakes while not in the office, leaving them unable to understand or respond to situations effectively. The leadership style prioritised self promotion over supporting the team. The environment was exhausting, demoralising, and unsustainable for anyone serious about developing their career. It is no surprise that staff turnover is high in the property office, yet some employees may not realise this is due to the office culture. Despite these challenges, I value the lessons learned from supportive colleagues and from navigating a difficult environment, which will help my professional growth.

From the recepitionist to the Agents. Their politeness, and friendliness was outstanding.<br>A special mention must be for Laura Graham, who from the start was helpful, friendly and such a pleasure to deal with. She got it all organised, sorted within a week.<br>Highly recommend this company for all house moving.
29th Jun 2026 (29 days ago)We cannot recommend JHS Law highly enough. They handled the sale of my late father-in-law's house with professionalism, compassion, and genuine care from start to finish. Their communication was fantastic throughout—we were always kept informed, and any questions were answered promptly, making what could have been a stressful process so much easier. As we don't live in Dumfries, we needed an agent we could place our trust in, we met with a few different agents, but from the minute we met Mark, we instinctively knew he was the right person for us. Mark from the get go was absolutely fantastic, he is a rare find in the property world, a safe pair of hands who genuinely cares , even though he had a number of properties live on the market to manage, he never loses focus and has an exceptional and methodical way of progressing the process. He was always professional, friendly, accommodating, and a pleasure to deal with, helping every viewing run smoothly. Thank you to Mark and top photographer Robyn and everyone at JHS Law for your outstanding support - we wouldn't hesitate to recommend your services to anyone buying or selling a home.

23rd Jul 2026 (5 days ago)Access to the castle island started again in 2026 (first time since 2019). There are still works going on to make to castle keep safe so sadly no way to see inside at the moment.<br>There's a £4.50 per person charge to get across on the boat - you pay at the kiosk by the car park & toilets. After a dry spell you can save some cash & get across the river by stepping stones hide but you will get wet feet.<br>I'm looking to seeing inside the castle - hopefully that will happen next year.

17th Jul 2026 (11 days ago)Please stay clear of this company. They are highly unprofessional and have no desire to stand by their own terms and work in a smooth and timely manner. They do not stay updated on any progress when working through a purchase of a property and do not act as if they want to get to completion within their own 60-day terms. I had two occasions on the same property when a mortgage valuation was booked in, and the Jack Senior at Let Property assured me the first would be completed. Once no one turned up at the property to allow access for the valuation, it had to be rebooked, and when I spoke to Jack again he assured me 100% someone would be there. But again, when the valuer arrived at the property no one was there to allow access. Also during the process it would take days, sometimes a week, to get a simple bit of info or just a return call from Jack or anyone at Let Property. They set 60-day completion terms, which I was happy to work to and moved fast on my side, but when they constantly delayed things, it got to the point nothing was moving foward. On top of this, they take a reservation deposit and will not refund it has we are past the 60-day terms even with the delays being their own fault. I would highly recommend staying clear and using any other company. I have found Pure Investor to be very professional, helpful and hardworking to make sure both the seller and buyer are happy and continue to get things moving forward.
