25th May 2023 (1 year ago)Arrogance at the highest level! Was informed 24 hrs prior that my valuation had to be moved as a staff meeting was more important. Already booked the day off so fuming at the complete dis regard of this outfit. Completely unprofessional and extremely arrogant in my opinion!!!! Lesson learned!!!
26th Jul 2024 (7 weeks ago)If sales were straightforward we wouldn't need estate agents! Thank you so much to Tim and team for at last getting us over the line with our very trying and tedious recent sale (which to make things even more complicated became 2 sales as we had to split the property in the end). Genuine people doing a good job in an area with many unique and therefore not straightforward properties.

21st Dec 2023 (8 mo. ago)We are very glad we chose GSC Grays as our agent. They were very professional with a good understanding of the local market. The costs were clearly communicated from the outset which wasn’t the case with some other agencies we contacted. Communication was excellent and they handled all negotiations well. We were kept well informed as the sale progressed. We would have no hesitation in recommending them.
25th Jun 2024 (11 weeks ago)We purchased a property through Robin Jessop - Bedale. They were good through the viewing and offer process but once the Memorandum of Sale had been sent out, we did not hear from them again, even on the day of completion. We were left to liaise with the vendors direct or through solicitors on all matters appertaining to the sale. It is a service like this that gives estate agents a bad name and I am a retired estate agent!

4th Sep 2024 (7 days ago)Recently sold my property through smiths and friends and initially very impressed. The lady that valued it was very professional and helpful and the man who took the photos and video did an excellent job. The after sales however was a different story. Hardly any contact after it was sold ..no updates, I was getting more info from my buyers and my solicitors. On the day of the sale my buyers solicitors had forgotten to send their money resulting in a huge delay. I was 20 Mins late dropping My keys off and I had a very shirty joy (aptly named) ring me to ask where I was as my buyers were waiting !! Er not my fault !! Walked into the office to drop the keys / hostile environment .. no asking how it’s gone etc. then went to pick my keys up from Northgate for my house - totally different experience - greeted with a smile, invited to sit down, asked how it went, given a welcome to your new home goodies box … it’s the little things that count. Considering I spent just short of £2.5k with smith and friends I felt that they took my money and ran and for that reason I won’t be recommending.

Laura, Deven, Carmella, and Nicole have been amazing throughout, through every enquiry, email, viewing, or phone call the ladies have been outstanding. We simply wouldn’t go anywhere else. Thank you for making our stress easier, and giving us the advice we didn’t know we needed!

13th Jul 2024 (9 weeks ago)3 hours before the appointment I received a call from Polly canceling said appointment due to the valuer not being in. The agent explained that "the admin team must not have realised that the valuer was off". This is a blatant lie as Rhea spoke to the valuer Rebecca during the phone call on Tuesday to confirm she was available. The appointment was booked 4 days in advance. This is very disappointing and unprofessional. Business has been lost and a sour taste left behind.

The service felt very personal with one representative dealing with all our queries. We were fully kept in the loop with the numerous viewings and the property was sold STC within 2 weeks for the amount we were looking for. W&B were very helpful in providing names of local solicitors and house clearance companies.
7th Oct 2022 (1 year ago)We tried to buy a commercial site next to our factory in Bishop Auckland, some dodgy dealing and back handers with Chris Farlow must have happened as we offered £750K which was turned down and the site sold for 695K. the purchaser and ourself were in the same position (cash buyers) apparently the previous owner wanted someone who could rent the site...??? We had no other option to rent it and signed a lease for 10years but to this day it baffles me why an agent would sell for less and not try to get the best price for their clients? Can you smell a rat??? Carver will carve your selling price!! do not use them
10th May 2024 (18 weeks ago)It was our first time buying and selling a house at the same time and we did both with Irving’s. I could not recommend them highly enough. From Michael who took fabulous photos to showcase our home in the best possible way, to Amy and Christine who showed us around countless homes. The biggest thank you goes to Kate who dealt with our sale. We could not thank you enough for how well you kept in touch with us and how easy you made the whole process….if we do move again I know who to call!
13th Feb 2024 (6 mo. ago)Very unprofessional. Simon advertised a company(bar/nightclub) for sale as "confidential" to which i called and book an appointment. Turns out the club they were advertising is NOT the nightclub they told me over the phone. I have spoken to the owners of the club which told me its not for sale......Once i mentioned this i have received no reply. Feels very much like a "bait and switch" which in UK is completely illegal, reported to ASA for false advertising.
