26th Jun 2024 (4 weeks ago)I've rented a property through BMH for around 5 years now and it's honestly the happiest and most settled I've felt. The lettings team are friendly but professional and get things done quickly on the rare occasion that I do report any issues. When visiting the property, I've always found BMH staff to be very polite and respectful. In places I've rented before (through other agents) you're made very aware of the fact that you dont own the house but with BMH I feel they really treat it as though it's the tenants home - which adds to that settled feeling I mentioned earlier. Their communication is great too, whether it's notifying of tenancy inspections, arranging appointments or just answering general queries. The response is usually quick with clear, honest answers to any questions. It was a while ago but i do remember their application process too and how straightforward it all was. From first viewing on 25th September it took just 3 weeks for application, referencing etc and by mid October I'd moved in. Really quick and simple. In short I'd recommend this letting agent to anyone.

24th May 2024 (9 weeks ago)***Buyers beware of this estate agent*** We were in the process of purchasing a property being marketed by Joy Walker Estate Agents. The sale was agreed with the vendor, our solicitors fees and valuation survey were paid for, searches were paid for. Weeks into the buying process and completely out of the blue, Joy, the owner of this cowboy outfit, rang me and said that another potential buyer had come in and offered 20k more than me and would I like to match it? I explained that I was up to my limit financially and couldn't afford to go any higher and also added that the sale had been agreed, monies paid and the solicitors of both sides had been working on the case for weeks. Joy explained in a very condescending manner that nothing is finalised, or set in concrete with property purchases, until the day that contracts are exchanged. So there you have it, we lost the property to someone else, weeks into the buying process, because this estate agent continued to market the property behind our backs, weeks after my offer had been accepted. We lost £850 in fees spent, my wife was distraught and spent the weekend in tears and we were left desperately trying to find another house, as the tenancy on our rental property was nearly up.. Unscrupulous! Unprofessional! She doesn't give a damn! All that Mrs Joy Walker cares about, is bringing in the commission. Riding roughshod over people in order to bring the money in, is all that matters to this woman. I mistakenly thought that the Wild West of estate agency and the dodgy practice of gazumping was something we all left behind in the 1980's, but unfortunately, someone forgot to tell Joy; or more likely she just doesn't care? All you potential buyers out there - Is it really worth the risk of dealing with fleabags like this?

Whilst the process wasn't ideal for me due to having to move to temporary accommodation to not lose my buyer, Lauren was able to secure a sale at a good price in a relatively stagnant market at the time.
5th Sep 2023 (10 mo. ago)TES took over from Hunters just after I had given notice to Hunters and after having to stay with them for 16 weeks, all of the office staff changed almost overnight. I thought rather than go back to square one I would see what they could do. By that time my partners sale completed (21 April) and I have to admit I took my eye off the ball as we were very busy with workmen etc. However the communication was very little. I had one lady view in that time but she had not sold herself. She did view a second time but turned out to be a time waster. No-one senior ever spoke to me about any plan. I asked about an open day perhaps and was told the market for bungalows was just not there. I am now sorting out another agent who is due to photograph and do a floor plan today. Fingers crossed.
