29th Jun 2026 (13 weeks ago)I contacted David Hill to enquire about a quotation for a survey and to understand what his service included. Throughout our correspondence, I repeatedly asked a straightforward question about the cost of the survey. Rather than receiving a clear quotation, I was sent several very long emails that were difficult to follow and often did not answer my question directly.<br><br>Much of the correspondence focused on qualifications, court experience and a copy of his CV, rather than providing a direct answer to my request for a quotation.<br><br>As a prospective client, I made it clear that there was no urgency and that he could take whatever time he needed to prepare a quote. I also provided the information requested about the property. Despite this, the conversation became increasingly confrontational.<br><br>I was particularly disappointed by comments such as telling me to "educate yourself", suggesting that I was wasting his time, and eventually asking me never to contact him again. I found this surprising and unprofessional, especially as I was simply carrying out due diligence before committing to a significant purchase.<br><br>I cannot comment on the quality of his surveying work because I did not instruct him. However, based on my experience, I found the communication to be dismissive, unnecessarily confrontational, and lacking the professionalism I would expect when making an initial enquiry.

Everyone I have dealt with there has been friendly, responsive, professional and knowledgeable. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending you to others and I just wanted to say a huge thanks for being so fantastic at what can be quite a stressful and demanding time of trying to move house.

29th Jun 2025 (1 year ago)A thank you just doesnt seem enough! We have recently sold our home with Property Shop Accrington and they are beyond amazing! We had a negative time with the previous agents and things just changed massively when we moved to Property Shop. From valuation, to all the viewings and the amazing customer service provided by Beth. We were always kept updated and i genuinely felt Beth wanted the best for us, she was always available to answer questions and always kept us in the loop, she is a real trooper and so friendly & polite. The same goes for the other staff and also Natalie in completions, always friendly and efficient, nothing ever too much trouble. The staff are a credit to this place. We have been so happy from start to finish! Thank you x

14th Sep 2026 (12 days ago)Once we decided to sell our property I walked into all the estate agents in the area Penske Properties was my first stop and set the benchmark a warm welcome knowledgable staff Nikki who explained the pricing there unique database system and pricing. After visiting 3 others who were all very lax shoved business cards in my hand and 1 who showed me another persons contract for pricing it was Penske Hill. They came out priced and then videoed and photographed the property. This team is a cohesive team that communicated efficiently even out of hours emails were effectively responded to and at weekends. We had 3 viewings one cancelled and the 3rd offered Andrew handled the negotiations and happy days. Timeline was excellent marketed end of May offered June completed September with weekly updates on the whole transaction. Yes their fees are higher but for a quality service such as this it’s worth the money. Just to add there is property via another agent that sold 2 months before us and not yet completed. Cannot fault Pendle Hill from Nikki Tom and Andrew to even the staff at their office who ensured everything went as smoothly as possible. Thank you Jane

3rd Feb 2022 (4 years ago)We chose Reed Rains Colne in good faith They suggested the Modern Method of Auction. which would be quick and easy It was NEITHER!. After almost 6 mths the house is now almost ready to exchange contracts .It was handed over to I Am Sold and we were obliged to accept a much lower offer and from then on Reed Rains dropped us. When we questioned this after trying to move things along we were told it was no longer their problem. They arranged a firm of Solicitors at our request but it was a not a local Solicitor it was Prosperity Law LLP in Manchester who have been nothing but trouble from day one. I have reams of correspondence from e mails but it was almost impossible to have a conversation with them Messages ignored, phone calls straight to answerphone. If this is the way Reed Rains does business then I have to say It is a disgrace.To anyone going for Moderm method of Auction I would say DONT and find another Estate Agent.
