30th Mar 2026 (7 mo. ago)I would highly recommend Blair Cadell as Jamie is a particularly nice person to work with. Although there were Googlemaps issues with my advert, he persevered with having Google fix the problem . His communication is excellent: prompt and courteous. The subcontractors he appoints for photography and home report are top quality. I would not hesitate to use his services again.

22nd Sep 2024 (2 years ago)We chose Gillespie Macandrew because we wanted the whole selling process (including the calculation of capital gains tax) to be under one roof. Gillespie Macandrew more than lived up to our expectations. The marketing, conveyancing and capital gains processes were all sequentially and logically implemented and there was always someone on hand to answer our questions. The stress involved in selling a property was greatly reduced, the sale went smoothly and efficiently, and we received a price well above the valuation.
19th Oct 2026 (16 days ago)I had an entirely positive experience with the Sales team at Galbraith in Ayr while selling my late father’s property. From my first meeting with Natalie through to the viewing, appraisal and agreement of the services included, the whole process was straightforward and handled smoothly. Vivien was initially my day-to-day contact and was consistently friendly, thorough and helpful. Once the closing date had been set, Brandan managed the handover seamlessly, ensuring that everything remained clear, concise and on track. The photography and drone footage were of an excellent standard, and the property sold within six weeks of coming to market for above the asking price. At what was a difficult time for our family, the team provided a professional, supportive and efficient service. I could not have wished for a better experience and would happily recommend Galbraith in Ayr.

Going forward with the house sale, Robert couldn't have been better, keeping me updated throughout the whole process, it was outstanding service and second to none. Thanks to the experience I received from Drummond Miller through Robert, I intend to use them again very soon when I sell my parents' house. Highly recommend without reservation
11th Mar 2021 (5 years ago)Not great - would not use again. Did nothing to find interested parties in first few weeks until I had to call a senior team member to complain... Not ideal - feel like they had too much work to handle mine at the time. Communication throughout the process was excellent and once we accepted the offer on our house the legal team at Thorntons were equally exceptional. Our solicitor was always on hand to answer our questions and provide us with best advice. Thank you for taking the stress out of selling a house!

From my first meeting with Lewis Hunter and my early contact with Suzie Steenkamp, I felt completely at ease and confident moving forward. A special mention goes to Rhonda Gunn, my Property Sales Negotiator, who was absolutely amazing throughout the entire process. She communicated with me quickly and consistently—often daily—and always kept me fully updated. Thanks to the team’s hard work, I had a high number of viewings and even received an early offer. A huge thank you to the whole Neilson’s team for making the experience smooth, supportive, and successful.

15th Nov 2024 (1 year ago)Overestimated price at quote stage and advised a lower one as soon as home report valuation was received, suggesting upset price 10k below valuation. Little feedback on website viewing figures unless I phoned to request it. Support for property viewings and feedback from viewers was reasonable. Once an offer was received, I had to email and phone Thornton's legal team repeatedly to chase progress. Title deeds were already held by Thornton's, but it took two weeks to scan and email them to the solicitor, delaying written acceptance of the offer beyond the deadline given by the buyer. Solicitor handling my case seemed to think this was normal and deadlines for acceptance of offers were usually ignored. Sale is not yet complete, but I would avoid using the same company for estate agency and legal services in future. It seems to encourage complacency and inefficiency, the opposite of what I expected.

19th Aug 2026 (11 weeks ago)Having sold seven houses in the past, I found my experience with Niksen to be underwhelming and somewhat average. Although far from terrible, there where a number of disappointments throughout the process. First off, the quoted prices for the photographer and Home Report turned out to be different. Hardly earth-shattering, but an annoying detail that ended up costing me slightly more than expected. The presentation of images and copy I’d say was average, but not as good as other high-end estate agents that I’ve used previously. When it came to selling, the accompanied viewings are a plus point, but I hadn’t expected a running commentary from the estate agent on who they thought should or should not have the property. Surely that’s for me to decide and not the agent. Very unprofessional I thought. Once I’d accepted the offer I heard next to nothing from Niksen. My solicitor worked extremely hard (for far less money than Niksen’s fee it should be noted) to ensure a smooth sale. Previously, I’ve used agents that provide a weekly update with how the sale progressed, but there was nothing for about six weeks from Niksen. In fairness, when I did contact them, they did investigate and chase up the sale, but I felt I shouldn’t have to chase them up myself. Oddly, a week after the sale had completed, Niksen contacted me to ask how the sale was progressing! I checked with my solicitor and he’d paid them already, so it appears they could do with some better internal coms between accounts and sales. What’s worse, for weeks afterwards they’ve pestered me via email, WhatsApp and phone for feedback. So here it is. Not terrible, but a very average experience.
