A zero if I could rate them. MY husband and I spent our entire life savings on a house in Alderley Edge. AJ Nowell who worked for the vendors were not only inefficient, and never ever listened to what we asked.... ULtimately, today, we finally got the house 9 months later and it is filthy. The oven is very unclean and the fridge has jam spilled over it and it smells. We are super disappointed and I am in tears. We spent over 1 million pounds, AJ Nowell must have made atleast 11000 plus VAT in fees, and it was filthy. I do not even want to move into this house. I know it's the vendor's responsibility to clean the house, but the vendor is very inconsiderate. I wonder if I should ask the agents, AJ Nowell to send a cleaner, but I know they will not, as the deal is done. Sell and forget. PLease avoid them at all costs.
Really great service from Bridgfords - Adam and Elaine. These 2 people could not be any more caring about the stresses and strains of moving family homes, they do everything within their power to make the buying and selling process run as smoothly as possible, with also having a friendly, personal touch of offering an understanding ear when others in the process are not necessarily doing all they can to help a family move to come through. Thank you very much for all your help and hard work Elaine and Adam, we have no hesitation in recommending you both for others to contact, also when we have recovered from this house move process in a few years, you never know we could well look you up again - hopefully not but you just never know:-)! Absolutely dreadful rental experience! We went to view the rental property on two occasions, but it was filthy and full of the previous tenants belongings and rubbish, we asked the member of staff to check that the property had been cleaned two days before we moved in.We arrived on the 12th Feb to find the property was still in a filthy condition and none of the rubbish had been removed. A member of staff spoke to the landlord and arranged a deep clean for the following day and said that we would have £100 off the first months rent to make up for the inconvenience and financial loss. We had to take all of our furniture to storage for two days. She said she had negotiated this with the landlord (which apparently she is not allowed to do.)
A week before the rent was due to be paid we emailed her for confirmation and also text the landlord. We had to chase the member of staff for a reply as we heard nothing, the member of staff then only said the landlord can confirm it, but the landlord didn't reply for the full week. We transferred the rent -£100 and shortly after got a text from the landlord, saying he had spoken to the member of staff and she said she had never made any agreement. We felt like we were being accused of lying. I I phoned bridgfords to discuss this, but there was no manager available, Rachel was very helpful though. About an hour after I complained, the member of staff involved phoned to speak to us about our account being in arrears, unaware that we were trying to resolve it, as she had not been spoken to. We made the payment immediately, as we were made to feel like criminals.
We had also removed a considerable amount of rubbish from the property ourselves and carried out several minor repairs which we were not reimbursed for.
The member of staff we worked with also was rude about customers and other members of staff, in front of us. On one occasion a customer phoned up and the member of staff said to us, 'if I answer to that lady I'm going to be stuck on the phone for hours'.
We resolved the financial issues with the landlord, without any help from Bridgfords and we are still waiting to hear from a Manager (we may edit the review once we have spoken to the manager about how she will prevent this happening again). The reduced rent was not the real issue, we are just shocked at the deceit and total lack of respect. There needs to be a considerable amount of staff training at the Wilmslow branch (I believe they may also be linked to another branch but I can't remember which one). This move has been unbelievably stressful from start to finish, most of the detail of which I haven't included in this review. I certainly would not recommend using bridgfords while this member of staff works for them as I do not believe that this was a one off.
Efficient, attentive and friendly service. A smooth process from beginning to end where we were regularly kept informed on the progress of our sale and purchase. Someone was always available to answer our questions however trivial. When challenges did arise, they were managed in a timely and professional way and the team often went above and beyond to keep things on track. Thanks GH!
I booked a viewing for a property the day before for 9.30am. I was told I'd be contacted to confirm this booking. I arrived for 9.30am and did not see the agent. I then had to call the company to find out that the letting agent did not want a 6 month tenancy. This was at 9.32am I should not have to contact the company to find this out! I should have been contacted the day before!
I've had a wonderful experience as a first time buyer, I was supported throughout the whole process, especially by Hannah, who provided much guidance and was very helpful, would highly recommend.
Stay Away. They falsified a document of mine to imply that I agreed to stay with them for another year. They used a previous signature they had on file of mine and copied it to a new contract. Seriously… Stay clear.
They say that moving house is in the top 2 most stressful things ever to be done, but I can honestly say that moving home with Nick and his team couldn't have gone any better. I'm sure that's down to both Nick and Lauren, and the way they managed, explained, helped, pushed, and advised. Right from my very first phone call into the office to discuss moving house, the service we received was absolutely first class. Knowledgeable, understanding, offering advice. If Carlsberg did estate agents....!! Thank you so much.
