There were some quite difficult aspects involved and these were handled professionally, as well as courteously, by Andrea Frigo, the lead conveyancer. The result was a successful sale, satisfactory to all parties. We would not hesitate for a second to use this company again or to recommend it to others.

19th Mar 2026 (1 day ago)I did not have a good experience with this estate agent and I wouldn’t recommend them. They made lots of mistakes when writing about property and communication was terrible. I ended up getting very stressed out with them.

My flat sold in no time and everything went through smoothly. I would highly recommend using them. I spoke with an agent called Glenda who was extremely helpful and friendly

They are still the same bunch of people who will try to rip you off on every single occasion. Please avoid at all cost. There are plenty good agencies out there

Michelle supported me from beginning to end with regular updates and was always there to answer any questions and help where needed, making it a smooth and stress free process! Would highly reccomend!

Within hours he called us with the valuation explaining exactly why it was that price and then explained the process / options and gave us time to work through the the best route to take. An absolute 5* star service and I would not hesitate to contact them to sell my property. Thank you Nick absolutely great service.
15th Aug 2024 (1 year ago)Didn't respond to our emails, allowed us to advertise for six months without telling us we needed an energy certificate which could've resulted in us being fined, took 6 months for our property to be removed from their books despite giving the agreed 14 days notice, didn't tell us the property we had purchased stc had been sold to someone else.

Laura was so easy to chat to, she followed up our enquiry quickly and was really helpful in every way that she could be. Although we didn't buy the property that she showed us. Laura was instrumental in helping us decide on the location that we wanted to continue our search and was one of the few agents that we spoke to that always responded to any query.
6th Mar 2026 (14 days ago)We recently sold two properties through Chalk Street Estates- overall had a very positive experience and would recommend this firm to anyone looking to market properties or purchase. The marketing of both properties was excellent. The photography was particularly impressive — very professional, with bright and clear images that really showcased the properties far better than many other listings we saw from different agents. Their pricing was also competitive and reasonable, which gave us confidence in choosing them to market our homes. Throughout the process, the team communicated well regarding viewing requests and follow-ups, keeping us informed at each stage. Unfortunately, there were some aspects outside of their control — particularly issues arising from the mortgage surveyor — which ultimately impacted the final agreed sale prices, bringing them below the initial valuations. Despite this, the team at Chalk Street worked hard to communicate with the rest of the chain and help reach an agreement. We found difficult conversations were handled professionally and very efficiently in what was at the time of our sales a buyers market. We also had an issue with the initial offer being reduced and had to relist the property, but this was handled efficiently and we secured a new offer within a week. Our offers were originally agreed around October, with initial viewings supported by Faye and later managed by Jack. We are very greatful to Jack- selling 2 properties is extremely challenging and Jack was nothing short of a miracle worker when it came to securing offers for both homes at the same time. A true credit to Chalk Street. As we moved closer to completion, Mandy became our main point of contact (around January, roughly eight weeks before completion). We had an incredibly challenging chain, but Mandy worked tirelessly behind the scenes, cross-communicating with all parties involved to help push things forward and encourage completion. We feel this was crucial to supporting completion with multiple agencies, solicitors and buyers involved- this we feel makes Chalk Street a stand out in their field. When we were purchasing our home 5 years ago we did the chasing with solicitors, Mandys involvement really eliminated the stress of it all. We are now in our dream home and cannot thank the team’s professionalism, persistence, and dedication during what turned out to be a complex sale process. If you are looking to sell or buy, they wont let you down :)
26th Feb 2026 (22 days ago)We were initially impressed with the response we received after inviting them to value our property. Once we agreed to market through them, their professionalism shone through - from signing up, the "property for sale" launch, our viewings, our offers and eventually onto the exchange of contracts. All the time the communication was flowing throughout. KPC had set up an informal WhatsApp group for general chats, info exchange and to deal with our questions. Marketing is key, to maximise the chances of a sale on your property in these turbulent times - We certainly made the right choice!
16th Mar 2026 (4 days ago)I have used Kurt Gonzales previously to sell a family home, I was very impressed with his efficiency and friendlly attitude that I used him again. Kurt is very hands on and will not only help you sell your property but will ensure you receive the care you expect. I cannot speak more highly of him and he has become a family friend. If you need to sell or buy a property and need it to be as stress free as possible, give Kurt a call, he will take as much off of your shoulders as he can. I cannot sell his services enough!
22nd Feb 2026 (26 days ago)Having spoken to 3 other estate agents in Clacton, none of whom inspired any confidence, I was relieved and pleased to speak to David Allis who instantly made me feel confident that I had called someone I could rely on. Selling from a distance meant that regular visits to the premises were required and David offered this as part of their usual services which was a huge plus. I’m happy to recommend Blake & Thickbroom if you’re planning on selling a property

18th Mar 2024 (2 years ago)DO NOT SELL YOUR BUSINESS THROUGH THIS COMPANY! READ THE SMALL PRINT This company are extremely aggressive and unprofessional. We advertised a business with them, paid an huge fee to advertise. Later after terminating, we agreed investment (not even a sale) from an investor we met directly, who was never introduced by Hilton Smythe. After accepting investment after terminating with Hilton Smythe they demanded their commission!! Totally unreasonable given it was after termination and the person who invested in our business was never known to or introduced by Hilton Smythe! They are now behaving aggressively and threatening legal action. We in turn have reported them to the ombudsman and trading standards. They are snake oil salesmen. DO NOT DEAL!
24th Feb 2026 (24 days ago)We sold two homes through Oakheart to move into a property together. We decided to go with them after viewing a property, as they were professional and answered all the questions we had as well as listening to why that house wasn't right for us (and actually turned up unlike other estate agents we had booked viewings with lol). Marcus was great with coming to see us to value the properties and managed to get us viewings before they were even on Rightmove. Both sold in less than 9 days, which was crazy! Throughout the early stages of the selling process, he was great at staying in touch with us as was the office to confirm suitable times for viewings. Once the sales were being progressed, Amy and Indie were also awesome. Amy was fast to respond to queries and kept us updated and was fab at pushing for completion, as well as being reassuring and proactive to prevent the chain from collapsing. Despite it being a complex split chain with some issues arising from my buyers having a few problems with things like surveys being requested last minute by their lenders, and poor communication from the estate agents we are buying from, they did a brill job at managing everything to meet our completion date.- 5th Mar 2026 (15 days ago)I recently sold my house with colubrid and cannot fault them , my house was sold within 2 weeks. We had around 30 viewings in the first week with several offers. I was kept up to date at every stage, we had a buyer pull out and the next day they had another buyer at the same offer ready to go. Special mention to Joshua who did the valuation , he made me feel at ease straight away and I trusted he could sell the house quickly. The whole team are really friendly and easy to get in touch with.

We spoke regularly to Mike Bidwell who was our main contact and he was very proactive in trying to move the purchase along. Mike also went out of his way to resolve an issue after we'd moved into the property, which we are very thankful for. Based on my experience I have no hesitation in recommending Exquisite Homes to anyone looking to buy or sell a property.
