23rd Jan 2025 (1 year ago)Having rented a flat in Kensington with Thackerays for 2+ years, I can testify of their utter unprofessional conduct - regular email nagging, rude staff, lack of financial transparency, and to top it all they removed the terrace, with all my furniture on it, while I was away, without any notice of access or changes. Best agents to avoid.

Have been with them for 6 years and they’re friendly, helpful, reliable, always prompt with any assistance (even during holiday periods), and they’re very transparent and honest, and really understand the market.- 3rd Aug 2021 (5 years ago)When I phoned, no response, simply the sound of someone cooking, and I waited about a minute. You wouldn't believe it, still no response. Bunch of timewasters.
11th Sep 2025 (10 mo. ago)I arranged a viewing for the second of September and was asked to provide 3 months of bank statements and payslips, which I did straight away. The agent then asked me to pay a deposit, which I also paid. I was told I’d hear back once the landlord confirmed. Days passed with no updates. When I chased, the agent claimed he had emailed me, but no email ever arrived (even though I had received all his previous emails without issue). After further follow-ups, he admitted he may have sent it to the wrong person. Eventually, I was told there were “issues with the landlord” because the previous tenant hadn’t ended their contract and wanted to move back in. The only response offered was to refund my deposit no apology, no accountability, no alternative property. I got my money back, but the complete lack of professionalism and communication wasted 15 days of my time. Terry, if you are reading this, please understand how unacceptable this experience was. Future tenants deserve better than having their time and trust wasted.
